▸▸▸ “...”
The new blood have already proven themselves to be a rambunctious sort. Until it leads to some manner of property damage, it wouldn’t hurt to simply observe them for a bit.
@tcgami has answered the call.
▸▸▸ “It is rather bold that the heir of an influential family chooses to roam about without any sort of protection to accompany him. Is there reasoning behind this...?”
▸▸▸ An interesting person to asses, to say the least. His Super High School Level title merely hinted at what he may be capable of, so it was only wise to scope him out. Either he was confident in his own ability to protect himself, or he was simply relying on the security of this school, who Peko herself could not bring herself to see as being an entirely “capable” lot.
“You can say you’re fine, but I know better.”

▸▸▸ “…And I know better than to think that you could not see through me. Still, it is nothing worth concerning yourself over, young master. Nothing that would jeopardize my ability to protect you, that is.” They’ve both gotten crafty about dancing around this topic, but so long as Peko could continue to deflect his worries and concerns, she would have her way. Though, there would probably come a point where he’d be fed up with her dodgy behavior, to the point she’d feel bad about keeping silent. Aside from the actual protecting, this may very well be the toughest part of being a bodyguard with a past closely linked to the one that had to be protected. There would be much less room for mutual worrying had they not shared that attachment, but there was no way Pekoyama could ever choose a dull and empty past over the one she had fond memories of being a part of. A gift for her, personally, but a curse when it came to her job.

▸▸▸ “The way you assume your stance makes me think that you’re expecting to be attacked at any given moment... Is there a threat lurking about that I am not aware of?”
Sigma {Sentence Starters}
“Do you feel love?“
“I keep losing you.”
“I’ll be here for you.”
“So don’t put it all on me!”
“I… I can’t do this anymore.”
“No more reason left to live.”
“Tell me why it’s not enough.”
“I know you’re tired of loving.”
“I’ll be waiting, come find me.”
“You can’t run away from life.”
“You have to fight for yourself.“
“Tell me that you won’t say no.”
“Tell me what would be enough.”
“This ain’t what I signed up to do.”
“You’re the reason why I wake up.”
“Can we get lost away from here?“
“I thought I’d lost you in the crowd.”
“You have to fight for your freedom.”
“You’re the one who keeps me real.”
“Lighten up, you’re way too serious.”
“I thought you would agree this time.”
“I know it’s hard to keep believe it all.”
“But this is love, I’ll never give you up.”
“I’m scared if we don’t dare, we’ll lose.”
“I know you’ll always come home to me.”
“Never felt this way… like I’m falling apart.”
“You’re the only one who can make it right.”
“You can say you’re fine, but I know better.”
“There’s a life I always knew but never had.”
“Whenever you look at me, it feels like home.”
“I’m tired of fighting things that I can’t change.”
“'Cause this life ain’t leading nowhere I can go.”
“'Cause this life that I’ve been living ain’t my own.”
“Even when you let me down, I forgive you in the end.”
“I’d make adjustments, but I’m just way too caught up in this cycle.”

▸▸▸ “It is very difficult to meditate when the threat of this school’s walls collapsing in on themselves hangs over you constantly. Perhaps I'll go to the courtyard today.”
oh, pekoyama-san, i am into swordplay as well! care to share any... techniques? ;)
▸▸▸Eyes widen with intrigue and minor disbelief as Pekoyama takes the chef’s words into account, and quite literally at that. It appeared as though his painfully obvious innuendo had flown right past the oblivious warrior.
“You were the last person I would expect to hear this from, Hanamura. Unfortunately, I do not consider myself suitable for mentoring others. However, at the very least I am capable of demonstrating a few forms. In turn, may I ask if you practice swordplay at all, or are you simply an enthusiast?”
@beheadingtoujou from ⚔
▸▸▸ “...Ah, hold a moment. I cannot really say it was a serious request from me. More so that curiosity had caught a hold of me regarding some of the things I have heard. Some have said you would honor requests made from others even if you were not obligated or under their employment.”
▸▸▸ From what Peko observed, these rumors looked to have held some truth to them. For the maid to tackle any chore set before her spoke greatly of her endurance and skill, and her drive to serve generated a sense of respect and kinship from her upperclassman, who shared a similar, albeit secret and exclusive role, taken further by the fact that it too called for some maid-like skills at times.
▸▸▸ She wished to know what drove the maid to do these things, even for people she was not familiar with. Perhaps she felt duty-bound, or maybe it gave her some sort of self fulfillment in doing so. Maybe it was a selfless nature, or a way to keep her skills sharpened? To Peko, her aura was one of sturdy diligence, not unlike a warrior’s. It was peculiar, especially when taking those “other” rumors she had heard, even if they did seem a lot more unfounded compared to what Peko had decided to confirm for herself.

@hismalice has answered the call.
▸▸▸ “Hm... It is a wonder you manage to avoid injury with all the disaster that follows you about, Komaeda. I must ask how you manage it. I expect it has at least helped you develop a sense for danger?” the swordswoman inquires. She was quite indifferent to him as a person, but as a walking hazard, he put her on guard. In contrast to her, he almost looked a little too carefree at times, given the sort of things that tend to happen. Perhaps he was just used to it by now, or it could even be a mask, though she couldn’t really discern the kind of aura he was giving off. The lucky student was mystifying to no end.
▸▸▸ Just standing within his vicinity would prompt Pekoyama to have a quick glance for any signs of danger every so often. For those outside of Class 77 it would likely seem an action of paranoia, but one could never guess what Komaeda’s luck would bring, and least of all when. To have Kuzuryuu’s presence added in would only serve to amplify her vigilant watch, but luckily he was not around for the moment. The maelstrom of bad luck was both physically and mentally draining for a bodyguard who was there to witness it much of the time, but it was hard to imagine the strain put on someone who had to endure it every waking hour of the day. It was pitiful, really, but at the very least he was met with an equal amount of good luck to offset it as well.

“… NO WAY, you gotta be jokin’. come on, let me see that. there’s no way you’d actually download… “ but he’s been wrong before. ( cue the humiliatingly honest smirk. )
▸▸▸“H-Here... Is it truly so hard to believe I would go through such lengths?” She hands the phone over, and sure enough, the app’s icon was pictured on the screen. Part of her couldn’t help but feel he was just poking fun at her. After all, he was among the very few aware of the layers lying beyond her shell of stoicism.
shsl-photographer:
♡°࿐ one would only need a few glimpses at the photographs to spot the ‘ odd one out ’ — amidst everyone’s smiles was always a stone-faced pekoyama. despite the lack of smiles from the swordswoman, koizumi was sure that pekoyama enjoyed the moments the class had together. even if pekoyama may not act like it on the outside.
as a photographer, she tends to notice the small mannerisms her classmates displayed. with the photo album, it was clear that the other girl was also getting closer and closer to the class. in more recent pictures, she didn’t have that icy glare she used to have. at rare occasions, there was even a slight.. gentle look in her eyes. that should be enough proof for the chance of pekoyama smiling.
“ there’s no need to apologize, peko-chan. ” a smile is on her face as she speaks, a way to alleviate any sort of tension between them. “ forcing yourself to smile is no good, it’d probably be even worse than not smiling at all. ”
“i think that smiles should be natural… the best smiles are the ones made when we spend time with our loved ones, don’t you think ? ”
▸▸▸“Yes... I believe I have learned that the hard way,” Pekoyama agrees. She had only just followed the advice given to her by Saionji on the means to forcing a smile, but apparently doing so would only just make her face look more demonic than approachable. After such an experience, Koizumi’s words were really the only option to follow, though that too would present Pekoyama with some difficulties. She was definitely aware of the few things that gave her those powerful feelings of warmth necessary to do such a thing, like a happy memory or the presence of a fuzzy critter. But such things couldn’t be relied upon if she wished to bring a smile to her face without a moment’s notice, especially if it were for something like a photograph. Something needed to grasp her at the heat of the moment. That was the only logical conclusion.
▸▸▸“Though if I aim to do it naturally, I will need to identify just who I would consider a loved one. I wish it were only as easy as enjoying the company of my classmates.” Pekoyama singles herself out within all the group photos, with nary a smile to be found. She recalls every moment each of those photos were from, and out of all of them, there wasn’t a single time she could remember not enjoying those moments. Perhaps she did smile a few times during them, but not enough to the point Koizumi could catch her doing so in-frame. It wasn’t a hopeless endeavor, just... difficult. “I know that there is still some progress to be made in strengthening my bonds with the others, so it may not be until then. But if I may ask a favor of you, Koizumi... Would it be too much trouble for you to make it a goal of capturing a photograph of me smiling by the end of the year? It doesn’t have to be during any particular moment.”
