Concerning this blog's future

Hey everyone, I haven’t been updating this blog for a few reasons: I am busy finishing my senior year of university (and this involves writing a thesis), I am looking at my post-baccalaureate plans (grad/med school or work), I am upset that Season Two seemed to be a reboot of sorts, and I haven’t been invested in the plot ever since my favorite character died… permanently.

Does that mean that I hate Resurrection? No, I am just very frustrated with it because the premise of this show had so much potential. Instead, most of the show’s time had been wasted in subplots that seemingly went nowhere.  I still have a couple of ideas for edits and I do plan on making them.  However, once I am done making these edits, I will leave the blog indefinitely (I will make very clear if I am doing so). Until then, I don’t mind if you guys send me requests. I generally do not have an issue with them.

Tl;dr: Haven’t disappeared completely. Just busy with real life things.

So I heard resurrection is being cancelled :( opinion/thoughts?

There is a very strong possibility that Resurrection will not be returning for a third season due to consistent poor ratings over the past few months.

I think one of the major issues the show suffered from was pacing. This problem goes back to Season One, where some episodes felt like filler episodes simply because nothing really happens – there is no action or big reveal – until the last 5 minutes. Quite honestly, if a show only has an 8 episode order for a season, none of the episodes should feel like a filler episode.

Resurrection had an interesting premise, but in retrospect, I think it should have been kept as a miniseries for story purposes. Some sub-plots dragged on for far too long. Other sub-plots were introduced and then abandoned. Viewers want the central questions answered – how and why are people returning from the dead – but instead they became frustrated over the seemingly lack of direction in the show.
