So it's orgweek at UP. I used to dance in college. Hell, I used to have a DSLR haha okay ninakaw siya sa Tagaytay *cry* These people went on to compete (and even coach) in the Hiphop International multiple times representing our country. And I miss everything. :-)

Pay to live, work to pay

To those living away from home, you'll know what I mean. Nung freshman ako, I learned that no one is ready and willing to do my shit for me. Yung blockmates ko pag nagccram ng plate, pwedeng magpabili sa yaya o driver ng board at materials, pwedeng magpasundo pag bumabagyo, magpaluto ng pagkain pag gutom at pag gising nila sa umaga, may nakahanda na. Kami, maghahanap ng makainan o magluluto, iisipin ang labada, bibili ng toiletries, magbubudget ng pera. As soon as we get jobs, I think we have twice more to worry about than yuppies who live with their parents. Kalahati ng sweldo mapupunta sa rent, yung matitira, pang-pagkain (may issue talaga ako sa pagkain, big deal yun haha), kuryente, tubig at iba pang bagay na di naman kailangan isipin kung nakatira ka sa bahay ng magulang mo. It's not like I'm whining about it, it's just that you other guys have it easier. I'm worried about how to save up. Help.

I used to ride horses and compete when I was little with my dad. A month ago we moved into our new house (in Davao) and I saw all his things were boxed up because we didnt have the luxury of space in our old apartment. We arranged things where they could seem permanently settled. Kind of parallel to his 10th year death anniversary this coming December, I felt connected to my him and my childhood again, even if it came in the form of arranging things and dusty riding equipment. :-)

In memoriam. That’s my dad’s Stetson cowboy hat and that white ceramic watch was my mother’s. They both handed them down to me and I keep it in a little shrine-shelf in my room.
