You say you want Catti to be important (me too). I feel like a more simple and possible scenario could be that the “inferno of jealousy”, which possibly pertaining to Asgore, could also work well with Catti’s jealousy over Susie getting close to Noelle. And which I hope that means Catti’s joins us in a dark world cause please i need a mage type character and also a real Susie hater. Most characters don’t like her, but Catti is truly a next level hater and I need that type of dynamic with Susie so bad.

i would love that, i would love to see susie and catti clash and finally find out what the heck catti's beef with susie is, exactly. connecting that to the themes of chapter 5 is clever too, it's definitely focused on asgore but nowhere does anything say it cant apply to two different people. buuuuuut i cant personally see catti willingly joining up with the fun gang, as not only does she hate susie but she's mad at kris now too. i can see her as a recurring midboss like berdly, but not a party member unless she gets some shit worked out

as eager as i am for catti to show her hand, i have a feeling we're not going to get that until closer to the end of the game, at least chapter 6. she gives me "eleventh hour enemy" aura. would love to be wrong though!

Out of curiosity, how much of Hero's Ribbon did you plan out in advance? Is it like a story where you plan a fair amount out, at least up to the end of Chapter 4?

Hi, I love your posts! Have you heard of the religion Manichaeism, and do you think it has any relevance in re: Deltarune? It seems relevant with how it's predicated upon an almost Demian-like dichotomy between the "light world" of an idyllic childhood, and the "dark world" of adulthood.

...you know, I got this a while back and let it go unanswered, and I shouldn't have! Among other things, I don't know that I'd characterize the dark world as one of adulthood per se – if we're talking about Demian, it seems relevant that the Dark Worlds are explicitly "worlds of illusion" frequently compared to nostalgic childhood RPGs. They contain creative potential, and the possibility of alterity, but that doesn't mean they're adult per se – often I think they're adulthood as viewed through the perspective of kids who don't think they'll ever reach it.

susie was gay as fuck telling kris all that shit in the quiet dark of a place of worship. if you played piano at church every week i'd go in worship of you. watching you put your soul into it like that made me reconsider my entire relationship to music. it stuck in my mind so much that when i pierced the earth and made it bleed the dream that formed awakened an entire separate side of the darkness where music was the world.
