Toastie
Today I tried Toastie, a small coffee shop near temple bar in Dublin city. I have been told to try this place from many people and in particular I needed to try the student deal and to get the pulled pork sandwich. The student deal consists of a toastie and a sandwich for 6.50!!!! Absolute Bargen if you ask me. As I arrived I ordered my meal from the lovely lady behind the counter and found myself a place to sit in the lovely spacious café. Once the food came I knew I was in for a treat, paired with my americano I began to tuck in. The pulled pork was cooked in a lovely barbeque glaze and could be enjoyed with every bite I took. The toastie itself was a classic sandwich and was doing nothing fancy but everything it did, it did well. Each bite of sweet pulled pork was accompanied by a cut of acidity from the pickle. Normally I wouldn’t be a man for a pickle in a sandwich but in this one it was the perfect complement, the perfect Robbin to the batman pull pork. The coffee was a lovely way to wash down this delight and I must say I left the shop feeling very satisfied and ready to take on the rest of my studies for the say.
