THE KINGS ARE BACK!
Hello, it has been a very long time since I reviewed anything, but TVXQ made a comeback and it’s a bop.
The MV
Visuals? Delivered. Charisma? Delivered. Pants splitting from intense dancing? Hahaha. Anyways, the grey theme of the background was not something I was expecting with this type of song. However, it is a mixed of classic and modern vibes. Plus, Yunho and Changmin dancing in well fitted suits to flowy shirts and leather jackets has got to make Cassies have heart eyes.
The song/lyrics
If you are a fan of Korean dramas, this song is like a 16 episode of rom com compressed into 3 minutes. It hints at the male lead smoldering looks captures the female lead heart and they’re always by each other because it is fate and predetermined. I mean, if you hear Yunho and Changmin woo-ing at you like in the beginning, you’d believe in that too.
The Dance
I don’t have any particular comments about the dance in general. There was nothing that really stood out and there wasn’t a signature dance move.
Overall
I like the song, but I do not totally love it. I feel that something more could be added to it, but it’s still good! Also, does anyone feel like they’re back in time with k-pop songwriters who have the intention of just putting whatever English words they saw from Google translate? Or maybe it’s just SM with the interesting English word choice in their songs haha.

EXO Monster
The MV
Damn I need to watch this again until I have the whole MV memorized. This is amazing. The outfits, the settings, the colors, wow. There is really no plot but it depicts a riot and the members acting pulled it off really well. I’m so impressed.
The song/lyrics
This song is my jam! I’m loving it and Chaneyol and Sehun’s rap really improved well. I don’t have any complaints. It’s a really good song and i’m loving it so much.
The Dance
Great MV. Terrific song. So of course, the dance has to be amazing and it is. Powerful leg and hip movements. It has several elements of other idol groups dancing styles combines together (like B.A.P, VIXX, and Infinite). I’m not saying they copied them because it’s not. I just notice that EXO’s choreo for Monster has the same strong characteristics of the other idol groups. I like it.
Overall
Did I praise this MV enough? Are you getting sick of me praising this yet? I highly recommend you watch the MV and enjoy the song. It’s really good.

EXO Lucky One
The MV
Wow, what products are they using for such dewy and luminous skin? I want this kind of natural glow and shine. The MV gives a futuristic feel, which I think EXO has been doing lately. The members are running around trying to escape from the lab nurses and the first minute of the MV will leave you dizzy from all the spinning.
The song/lyrics
It is a definitely a head bopping song and my body involuntarily moves, which is a sign I do like. However, I’m a tad disappointed about the chorus and bridge. I like Sehun and Chanyeol’s rap better but every time i hear the bridge and chorus my body just automatically stops moving. I just don’t really like that part. If you listen to the Chinese ver, I think you would like it more since it flows more smoothly.
The Dance
It’s not an EXO MV unless Kai is dancing but i can’t help but laugh. Kai obviously needs to escape the maze and the lab nurse is standing in his way so the obvious move would be find another exit like the others are. He just stands in the middle of the hallway dancing and i’m just find it so bizarre and funny. It worked though and he did charm her enough for him to escape.
Overall
The MV is quite interesting. It has some more visual and I like the return of their super powers! I haven’t seen that in a while. I don’t remember if they used mazes before but i find that a maze is like a reoccurring theme that can be used in many different ways so it’s kind of exciting as well. There is one more thing, all I can think about now is “Chanyeol did seduction! It is effective!” because the lab nurses head exploded after what he did haha.

The MV
They are all eye candy. That’s all I would like to point out. The MV is pretty standard for a group that hasn’t made a comeback in a long time.
The song/lyrics
I’m quite unsure who is actual stalker here. Is it he who is the stalker following her or is she the stalker creeping into his heart? Although the word “stalker” isn’t a really positive word, to use it this way to describe an emotional feeling is sort of strange and creepy. I have a neutral feeling towards this song. It did draw me in but i have a feeling I’ll be listening to this once in a while and not everyday. Maybe my feelings will change as the day progress.
The Dance
The opening dance caught my eye. It’s simple and easy to follow along. I really like the simple movements as the main point dance. The sweater pull up and hand mimicking heart thumps. The long loose black sweater helps emphasize the movements well.
Overall
U-KISS HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? All six are back and I’m a happy camper. Although “0330″ still holds a deep and special place in my heart, I hope they make more great comebacks in the future. Oh and can I say, ELI LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD. He’s a father and is still an idol AND HE STILL SLAYS DOING BOTH.

The MV
There are mixed feelings about this MV. I love the purple and pink theme going on and thought something intense is going down when Hani smirk. Like revenge or something. But I just felt so uncomfortable watching Hani prepping the raw meat. It screamed unsanitary and oh my gosh. The MV to me is kind of over sexualized in a way.
The song/lyrics
Despite the mixed feelings of the MV, I love the song and am hooked to it. I love LE’s rap the best. “You won the Best Male for acting, but you’re still acting like someone else”. Damn. Would like you aloe for that burn?Oh, and Solji’s vocal adds an amazing element to the song as well.
The dance
Although much of the dance was not featured, starting at 3:43 I let out a massive “YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS”. From just the small segment of the dance, it matches well with the song.
Overall
I really enjoyed Hyerin’s part in the MV the most. She was just so funny. Her scenes literally made up for the others over sexualized parts. I’m not saying I hate the other’s scene, it just makes me so uncomfortable to see raw meat being prepped like that.

Lay Monodrama
Hi everyone! Since this is not sung in Korean, I won’t be fully reviewing it since, like my blog states, I just review k-pop songs. HOWEVER, since Lay released this today, i have to tell you to PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS SONG. I don’t care if you’re exercising or nursing a hangover in the morning, just listen to it. The moment you hear the acoustic you're going to go “Oh yes! I’m so glad I listened to RKPN cause this is hitting my feels.” It’s angst-y and his voice just perfectly melts your heart and makes you cry with him as well. Also, please support him by actually clicking on the link above. Please leave him lots of comments and love because he wrote this song and it’s too good to be slept on. Go ahead and give it a listen.

Jonghyun She Is
The MV
It’s quite dull even with the bright yellows hues and neon colors. I maxed up the brightness on the screen but it still seems dull. I also have no idea what was going in the MV. To me, it was messy and put together last minute. There was no correlation as to what was going on. He was threading a needle and the next he was ironing a piece of pickle while dripping ketchup down on a shirt.
The song/lyrics
Despite the boring MV, the song is good. Jonghyun’s slightly high voice is very pleasing to the ear. It’s light and he also has a stable lower pitch voice that compliments the song well. The lyrics itself are kind of the general “I, a man, like you, the lady. I like your features very much and these are the features I like. Let me woOOoo you.” Ok ,so those are not the real lyrics word for word, but it’s close.
The Dance
I found it quite funny that the other dancers were dancing with no facial expression whatsoever. A little off topic but dancing requires more then just moving the body cooly. Facial expression is so important to the dance. So back to the emotionless dancing, it didn’t really give off a robot feel, but just a distance feeling. Jonghyun had a more lively and animated face while dancing which gives a little charm to the wooing the lady factor. I’m not saying the other dancers were bad though. I’m pretty sure they were told to dance without making any facial expressions.
Overall
I didn’t really like everything that this MV had to offer. I feel like more could have been done to make this a better video and for SHAWOLs as well. As I stated earlier on how it seems like a last minute slap together thing, I find that you won’t be able to comprehend one thing while focusing on another. The MV totally threw me off because I was just trying to understand what was happening and I ended up not even listening to the song properly. So do yourself a favor and listen to the song first. Don’t watch the MV until after you listen to the song. What are you thoughts?

The MV
Did anyone else think that they are doing a promo for Sprite as well? And I don’t think it was necessary for Jimin to blow the whistle and direct people away…when there was literally no one there at the pool. There was also the sign “No lifeguard on duty swim at your own risk” yet Mina climbed up. Other then that, I think the scenery is absolutely beautiful! I like that it’s just the members at the scenes themselves with no other extras. I also find their outfits sexy yet modest at the same time.
The Song/lyrics
I had to listen to it a few times to actually like it. I just wasn’t feeling Jimin’s rap, and that’s why I felt hesitant to say I love the song at first listen. Besides that, it gives me the vibe of an independent/ play hard to get girl, which I can say I do love. It helps me visualize walking confidently down anywhere.
The Dance
It’s very toned down compare to their other dance choreography. I say it’s a more simple and mature kind of way. I really like the part near the end of the MV, where the lights are dimmed and you just see their silhouettes against the sunset. It really showed how clean and smooth it was.
Overall
I find everything aesthetically pleasing and fun from start to finish. I think I was more attracted to the quality and views of the beach then the members dancing. I honestly don’t think that this song is a mature sounding song but the dance and the members’ look give off a more grown-up vibe. However, I do agree that it’s a fun confident song that you will like. I also realize that Seolhyun is the face of Sprite and Brand LTE so that’s why it was only her doing promo of that in the MV. Other then that, what are your thoughts on the MV?
I’m back!
Surprise! I’m back to review k-pop music for you all. You’re probably wondering when did I follow this person. No worries. I understand I went on a hiatus on this blog for quite some time. I didn’t take off because of school, but because I was reading really good plot themes and breakdowns from other blogs and thought my blog post must really suck. That’s why I haven’t written any lately. However, I realize that it’s May and five months into 2016, there are so many good music that it’s a shame not to share it with you, my followers. I’m just going to continue writing and reviewing in my style cause I forgot how much fun I have doing this.
