“Time runs only one way.” . This book, while including fictionalized circumstances of the death of Shakespeare’s son, actually centers around a possible life of his wife, Agnes. . I believe that Willy Shakes hated women, but this book posits that perhaps he loved his wife. Too late to ask him, I suppose. It’s interesting that the author chose to name the book Hamnet, in fact. Not interesting enough to look up an explanation, mind you. . I read this in an audiobook, and will, thusly, spend the rest of the week speaking with an accent of questionable origin. . Four stars. Bring the tissues. . Content warnings: loss of a child, douche bag husbands, child abuse . #HistoricalFiction. Recommended for my 2022 (yes, not a type) #12Friends12Book. Here’s my first ever #LastCurrentNext. It’s amazing to me it’s the first time I’ve ever done it because I think about doing it so often. . Are there any #Bookish trends you’ve been meaning to jump on but haven’t yet? . I am currently reading The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. It’s a historical fantasy about charmed sisters during the suffragist movement. I like it fine but I’m also excited to get to this Hades and Persephone retelling. OAFW is due back to the library YESTERDAY or I’d probs flip them. Grrr.
