Super easy self care tea spell!!!!! đŒđŒđđđđ
Iâve been having a really rough time with school and stuff lately so I made this super easy tea spell to help calm and bring some happiness into your life!
Things youâll need:
âą tea
âąrosemary (fresh clippings or dried)
âą a piece of rose quartz
âą honey
âą your favourite mug
âšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâšâš
1) pick out your tea. Rose tea or chamomile tea with lavender works best but pick whichever you like best UwU (I like to use green tea, personally)
2) add a little bit of rosemary and pour in your water
3) hold your rose quartz in your least dominant hand and stir in the honey, in a clockwise motion, with your dominant hand while visualizing the energy of love and happiness and kindness that the rose quartz represents
4) find a quiet and relaxing place (possibly with a warm blanket) and drink your tea! âš
Which habits are you adopting in 2018? Comment below!
i canât believe 2017 is almost over :o studygram

How to do an excerpt
What is an excerpt?
An excerpt is a structured summary, often written in keywords and bullet points, of a text you are supposed to study. It helps you to illustrate the connections and relations within the topic and for many people, doing the excerpt is a great way to memorize huge parts of the topic.
How do do it
What you will need:
Concentration. A lot of it actually. If you find it hard to focus, please read this
A pen or ballpoint pen, preferably in blue
Some fineliners in different colours, at least green, red and a âneutralâ colour like violet (neutral in the sense that is not associated with positive or negative, wrong or right)
A highlighter, perferably in yellow
Lots of paper
And of course the text you need to study
What to do:
Read the text you need to study thoroughly
Highlight the most important aspects while reading it
Write down these most important aspects on your sheets of paper (you can also do this in word of course)
You can write it down while or afterwards reading the text!
How to structure an excerpt:
First of all, some people prefer a mind-map over an excerpt, so make sure you try that out too!
Make coloured headings if you write it per hand, use a bigger font if you write it in word.
Use colours to mark important words, or highlight them
If you have postive and negative aspects of a topic, write them down in green and red
Remeber to make paragraphs, so it has more structure to it and you can easily get an overview over the page
DonÂŽt do a new heading within the last quarter of a page, just take a new one
If you are writing in a book or a booklet, do not write too close to the fold/seam
Make sure to number your pages, or you may spend hours on putting them in the right order again and you definitely donÂŽt want that!
Make small sketches with a pencil or a black fineliner to illustrate realtions and connections
Use arrows (->), bullet points, and keywords instead of whole sentences
I also like to leave some space on the left side and instead of doing subheadings, I write keywords on the left side of the paragraphs. I normally do this in red so I can see immediatelly which paragraphs I have in front of me.
What to write down:
Do not write down every detail! This is not what an excerpt is for. Instead you should write down:
Headings
Subheadings
Definitions
Relations and Conncetions
Words you find difficult to remeber
Names and dates you need to know
Sketches
Short summaries in keywords
Lists
Charts to compare two topics, aspects, perceptions etc.Â
What colours to use:
It is scientifically proven that the brain can memorize texts written in some colours better than others.
Write in blue
Highlight in yellow
Write important words in red
For me personally highlighting the begin of every bullet point in a different colour also works very well, especially if I do it in rainbowcolours because if you keep them always in the same order, you get a feeling for how many bullet person you have, just by looking quickly at it. Which is great when you have a test where you have to list them one by one
What not to do
Do not write on the whole page without leaving any space free
Do not doodle around or decorate the page with little drawings. It will distract your mind from the text and the information
Do not write many whole sentences. ItÂŽs best to only use them for definitons
Do not write in colours, only the most important words should be in colour
Do not write in black, it is harder for the brain to memorize black font than blue font. So let it be, no matter how elegant or stylish it looks
WhatÂŽs also important
Your handwriting does not have to be perfect. You donÂŽt need to write the headings in calligraphy or draw ribbons around them. As long as you keep a neat structure and can read your hadnwriting without problems, everything is fine.
Find out what works best for you. For most people my paragraph about what colours to use is true, but it might be different for some.
Not everyone learns a lot by doing an excerpt or reading one. Try different methods to find out how you study best.
What works best for others must not work for you and the other way round. Just do what is best for your studying, and if it differs from the norm, who cares!
A year of french poems
This is a list of 52 french poems, one per week of the year. I found them all over the internet (I apologize for any inaccurate info) and themes go from childrenâs laughter to politics. The poems are organized by time period, and then by author name and title, with a link to the poem. This is my @langblrsecretsanta gift for the amazing @sennettyoung. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making the list.Â

eleven little self care tips for students
Get enough sleep. Your brain needs it. Set yourself a âbed timeâ and fall into the routine of going to bed and waking up at the same times each day.
Drink water and lots of it. Aim for 2 litres a day. This oneâs easy, you can do it. Ditch the juices and carbonated beverages, just add a slice of lemon to your water if you feel like something fancy.
Allow yourself to switch off. Donât be afraid to read books that have nothing to do with your studies. Go to the cinema. Work out. Take your mind away from your workload.
Take care of your skin. Wash your face every morning and night. Moisturise after every shower and bath. Donât go to bed with your make-up on, no matter how tired you are.
Talk to your friends and family about something other than school. Donât let your studies detach you from the things going on around you.
Work out. Even just once a week, or whenever you can. Go for a walk or a run, maybe just for 15 minutes. Follow along with a YouTube exercise video from the comfort of your own home or try out some yoga moves.
Make time for your hobbies. Studying is your full time job, but thereâs plenty of hours left in the day. Donât neglect the things you love.
Cook. Sometimes all we have time for is microwave noodles, but donât fall into the habit of relying on the basics. Youâll feel the difference.
Donât forget to laugh. Watch a hilarious film. See a comedian at a local venue. Watch funny videos on YouTube. Reminisce with friends. Itâll do you good.
Ditch the caffeine. Donât rely on Starbucks. Itâs delicious but you donât need it. Save up all the money youâd usually spend on coffee and treat yourself to something instead.
Make your bed every morning. Youâll be grateful at the end of a long day when you can get into a cosy bed that doesnât look like you just rolled out of it.
hello! i am a 9th grader in high school and last term I ended up with a C- in my biology class and it really disappointed me, the reason I got so low was because I failed lots of my tests and quizzes cuz I had no idea what was going on or what she was talking about â do you have any tips on how I can study more efficiently for tests and/or help myself understand biology more?
hello!! check out some of these posts!! also, donât let yourself get too low; things happen, but if youâre willing to put in the effort, you can totally get more motivated and be able to do better in the future!! learning how to study and what works for you is one of the hardest things to learn, in my opinion, so donât be worried if it doesnât come to you right away. plus you have years ahead of your to figure school out, so donât get too stressed :)

ways to study for exams that are actually productive
use actual note cards for vocab. yes, apps like quizlet are dandy when youâre on the go, but actually physically writing out each note card helps put the information into memory faster than typing them.
visual learner? make charts and diagrams. they donât have to be pretty. the lines donât have to be perfectly straight. it doesnât have to be photogenic. but if it helps you learn, do it.
after you take notes (in class or at home/from your text book), write down possible quiz questions about the material on the next page while itâs still fresh in your mind. later on when youâre studying for the test, use these questions to gauge what specifics out of that chapter you need to work on the most.
start sooner rather than later. i know, youâve heard this a million times from every teacher ever. but itâs legit. especially as you get into harder level classes and college courses because there is literally so much material that the tests cover that you simply can not accurately learn all of it over night. instead, start about 10 days in advance (but of coarse, the sooner the better).
studying doesnât have to be a big giant study session that takes hours. if you start far enough in advance, study sessions can be around an hour, hell even 45 minutes is a good. if you go too long in one study session your brain will be fried and studying will be pointless because your brain wonât be processing any of it. thatâs why itâs important to take breaks and not just cram for 5 hours the night before an exam.
actually study. hold yourself accountable and make your education a priority. if you have homework and studying to do, make it a priority over going partying or watching tv. there will be another party. you can dvr your show. you canât take your test on a later day because you donât feel ready. so be ready.
be careful with study groups. if you have a study group with all of your best friends, lets face it, youâre going to end up spending more time talking about harry styles and supernatural than actually studying. itâs better to have a study group with people who are your friends, but not best friends. and itâs better to keep it between 5-7 people so that everyone can be involved.
if the material is just super confusing and you canât seem to understand it no matter how hard you study, itâs not you. itâs the way you were taught it. each teacher teaches a bit differently, and maybe their style of teaching just isnât for you. if this happens, find a way that explains it the best for you. for example, if chemistry is just super confusing for you, try watching the Crash Course chemistry videos on youtube or have a friend explain it to you. this will give you a completely different perspective on the material and will help you understand it better.
at the end of the day, remember that everything will be okay. studying can be stressful, especially if itâs in a class that you struggle in. but i promise you that you are not the only one who struggles sometimes in school, itâs a part of being human. as long as you actually put in an effort and try your best, be proud of yourself. take a deep breath. and remember: you got this.
