the junkie had found herself coming up to the light house , or by the ocean in general , with her reunited best friend . she’d been carrying on a conversation about all the things she , her , & rachel would be doing once they finally get out of arcadia and into the big city . just then , there was a chk-whiirrrrr in the background , assuming her partner in time had taken a photo , since the camera wasn’t exactly quiet .
“what’cha take a picture of this time , max ? the ocean ? it’d been cooler if a whale had jumped out .”
she’s so COLORFUL in the way she talks about their plans, all of the things she hopes to do when they finally ESCAPE this wasteland of a town, putting it in their rear-view mirrors for good. it’s one of the few things lately that fill her with a sense of HOPE. hope for a brief MOMENT, that they would all get away from all of this, and find a better life together somewhere away from everything to do with this HECTIC town.
one thing was for sure, Arcadia Bay WASN’T the same as she remembered it. had she brought this with her? was SHE the reason for everything going wrong? was she going to be the one responsible for... whatever was coming. whatever it may be, she FEARED it was out of even her control.
GOD, does she wish that she could just freeze this moment, like the picture in her hand, to simply stay with Chloe, SAFE and happy, in it’s blissful world free of worry.
“ personally, I think this picture of you is cooler than any picture of a whale. ” she divulges as she closes the space between them to stand at Chloe’s side.
