Catalog Entry "Contrary to popular assumption, this specimen was not carved from the bone of an actual whale. The piece was fashioned from premium Serkonan clay, collected by hand from Shindaerey North Quarry and shaped in accordance with the observations and anatomical studies of the esteemed natural philosopher Douglas Church. The coloration faithfully reproduces the hues observed in living specimens through the use of Morley ochre, carmine rendered from beetle carapaces, refined Serkonan lapis, and chalk imported from the distant continent of Pandyssia. The completed work was sealed with Professor M.S. Clear's patented alchemical varnish, protecting it from moisture, dust, and the gradual decay that claims lesser curiosities. While possessing no measurable value to the whaling industry, the figurine remains of interest to collectors, scholars, and those with an appreciation for the strange and magnificent creatures upon which the prosperity of the Isles was built."
