Rey is used to scavenging things, not people; yet, the hulking figure of man tucked into a corner of her AT-AT, sparing barely any space for her in the tight quarters, spoke otherwise. She’d dragged him — senseless, bleeding, as pallid as the moon, with a broken leg and a shard of metal twisted between his ribs — away from the wreckage of a crashed TIE Fighter a sennight ago. Rey’s good at waiting; she’ll wait for him to wake.

Ben’s eyes opened at dawn of the seventh day. The first thing he sees is Rey, asleep, her small, dry hand inches away from his. His body aches, he’s parched, there’s a cool, water-soaked cloth on his forehead for the remnants of his fever. The first thing Ben remembers is Rey… the warmth of her smile… her lips on his… he remembers dying in her arms on Exegol. Ben remembers all of it.

sooo i gave in and wrote a fix-it fic based on @galacticidiots time travel AU tags and @kyloren‘s gifset based off of the former. i have countless (literally) WIPs from other fandoms, but i had to serve to people god dammit!

summary:

In his dreams, Ben would visit a far off, distant place, where a girl lived alone. Never did he think that girl would one day save his life - in countless ways; present, past and future.
