Preface

✩ This is a personal story that is directly based on my lived experiences. Be aware if you find this kind of story uncomfortable to interact with.

✩ If you come from @tsumigram:

Reyoume shares a lot of common points with it in both the narrative and format, but is placed in an alternative universe.

The story is an expansion and a reinterpretation of the Crime of Fear (the story of Kouta, Kai, and Ririka) from Tsumigram.

Trigger Warnings

✩ This story's central theme is the topic of death and associated distressing experiences, such as fear of death, suicidal thoughts, and loss of loved ones.

✩ It is also heavily focused on abusive, codependent, and otherwise destructive relationships, and contains elements of physical and mental violence. There are no graphic depictions of violence.

✩ Other topics that are going to be discussed or heavily implied: misogyny and transmisogyny, sexual harassment and sexual abuse, grooming, stalking, self-harm, saneism and suicidism, bullying, child abuse.

Boundaries on interaction/usage

✩ OK to do: share your thoughts or headcanons, fanart, interactions with your ocs

✩ Please don't talk about how similar you are to the characters or kin them, don't compare them to characters from other projects outside of character analysis, don't headcanon their sexuality or gender identity, and don't make any sexual comments about my characters.

✩ All the main characters are aromantic and on the asexual spectrum. Queerplatonic ships and friendships are okay, but I'm uncomfortable with romantic interpretations of their relationships.

✩ Don't use my art, don't reupload it, and don't publish it on other platforms. Don't use my OCs and art with them in any way.

✩ You are free to take inspiration from my art (including but not limited to poses, compositions, colors, etc.) as long as you don't claim my art and my characters as yours.

Episode 2 - Canopus

Rise and shine, dear Conductors! We are approaching the first turnout! There's still some time before it, but it's better to prepare in advance. After all, when it’s the moment for you to make a decision, we won't be able to pause the train that's already moving.  And this one… Well, it might not be exactly correct to call it “the first” — in fact, it's under the number “7”.  This Passenger is easy to deal with, yeah? Perfect for a beginner Conductor! You shouldn't have any trouble with getting to work. So hurry up! I don't care what you do to prepare for the turnout, just make sure you don't interfere with the course of the train when it comes!

Notes on the voting form:

If you want to influence the future story with your answers, you might want to note down your choices in the episode as you're reading it.

Both Conductors have their own interrogation with the Passengers, but the routes presented in the story are interchangeable and not linear. Depending on the answers in the voting form, one route will become canon, while others will stay as AUs.

4: What is the purpose of taking photos if you can't show them to anyone? 7: I can show them to you. Wanna see? 4: Thank you, I can see what's in front of us with my own eyes. 7: Well, I mostly save them as drawing references for later. 4: And what is the purpose of you drawing? 7: To pass time. I knew this train doesn't allow technology like phones, but I'm still surprised how boring it is to be here. 4: I understand. I'm not exactly used to interacting exclusively with people who are…  Hm… 7: What? Are we some kinda difficult people? 4: No. I am a difficult person.  Anyway, the lack of entertainment is very noticeable.

3: This is for you… 7: Oh? Eh? Wait, it's a plush kitten! Did you make it yourself? 3: Mhm… 7: Hold on, does it mean you made Fuel too? 3: Mhm… 7: That's amazing! So you can sew plushies!  Hey, I would never be able to make something like that!  Thank you, thank you! It'll live in my room now! Hmm, how should I name it? Gimme a second… … Droplet!

3: What is your… favorite color? 7: Hmm, I'm not sure… Well, I like to wear brown because it looks the most neutral on me, yeah, you know? But like, how else is “favorite color” used in practice?  Umm… If I were to pick an ice cream, what color would I choose… Orange or pink would look the tastiest! It immediately makes you think of fruits and berries, right? When I go outside, I like to see the color of the rainy sky… Though I'm not sure I like it when it rains… I don't hate it, but I always thought that the calming nature of rain is a bit overrated… 3: … 7: Ah, what about you? 3: …Pink and blue. 7: Hey, so the clothes you're wearing are spot-on!

I'll get to the bottom of the mystery of who cooks all this, and where is the secret entrance to the kitchen! 0: Huh. Good luck. I guess I'll be taking you company. I've been wanting to train my skills at chess for a while now, so I'll be quietly minding my business at the game table. 7: Eh? A game of chess? I wanna join! 0: You said the other day that you don't know the rules and can't memorize them. 7: Maybe this time I'll be able to memorize! Don't give up on me yet! 0: … 7: What’s with this face? It's as if you just saw a ghost— Huh?! The food simply appeared while we both weren't looking?!

0: I'm sorry for intrusion. I just recognized the book that you're reading. It's a self-help book, isn't it? 2: … 0: If there is something burdening you, I'm here to listen. Receiving an input from a person with a different perspective can often make you find the way out of a seemingly trapping situation. 2: …There's nothing in particular… I just feel…  Well, that might be the problem — that there's nothing… …It's like I'm always sleepwalking… Although it might be silly to say it in a place like this. I was wondering if something could help me wake up, for just a bit… 0: Oh? So, were you able to find out anything from this book? 2: … For a person like me… I’d never be able to help myself. But that's why I'm relying on the end of this road for that… Isn't it the case for everyone else, too?

3: Got you! 2: …Huh? 3: Hehe. I noticed… You always come out only when no one is around, and take food with you in your room… But it must be so lonely! This way, you'll spend the whole trip in complete loneliness! So… How about we have lunch together this time? 2: … …Fufu. Alright. Let's do that. 3: Yay!

How do they allow a child to travel by themselves on a train? 3: … 0: Do you get along with any other adults here? 3: …Seven… 0: That's a relief. Hopefully— …Wait. Seven? He constantly hangs out with that weirdo. No, this can't be good.  3: She always ignores me anyway… 0: Huh? 3: When we're alone, or I try to join a conversation she's having with someone, she just ignores me… 0: Only more reason to not get near her. If you need an adult to rely on… I guess I have no choice.  I'll keep an eye on you.
