Race in Arknights

As we all know, the people of Terra possess animal characteristics—such as ears, tails, horns, etc. Some individuals even have these traits as dominant features, making them appear like personified animals. In some cases, they may completely resemble animals but with human intelligence and the ability to speak. There are many races that correspond to the animal traits they possess—such as cats, birds, and more.

Originally, the Teekaz were the oldest known inhabitants of Terra, until the Ancients and Elders took over dominance. Nowadays, Teekaz split into several race: Sarkaz: equivalent to Devil/demonic entities Sankta: Angel Oni: Oni Durin: Dwarves Anasa: Hindu-Buddhist Deities Sarkaz are the only group that still uphold traditional Teekaz ideals, to the point it is considered that Sarkaz are modern name of Teekaz.

Aside from the Teekaz, there are also Elves and Feranmuts. Feranmuts are giant creatures considered god-like beings, and both are regarded as native to Terra.

Ancients are now the most common group found in Terra. Feline

Feline are one of most predominant Terran race who can be found in almost all Terran nations thanks to their strong adaptation to their surroundings. They have keen senses, some of them even possess light-sensitive pupils. To a certain extent, the term "Feline" is used as an umbrella term for almost all Terrans with pointy ears, long tails, and sharp senses. Despite the varieties among the Felines, only the Aslans stand out as an independent Feline subgroup. Aslan separate themself due to their royal bloodline.

This race are based on Family Felidae, referred as Cats. The members of this family are highly specialized predators found on every continent except Antarctica. Compared with many other carnivores, cats have fewer teeth because evolution favored cutting efficiency over chewing versatility. Felids possess highly developed carnassial teeth (shearing teeth), adapted to cut meat like scissors and sever tendons efficiently.

One of most prominent trait of this family is they can retract their claws to keep them sharp. A notable exception is the Cheetah, whose claws are only partially retractable, helping it gain traction at high speed. They also have exceptional Sensory Systems with excellent depth perception and outstanding low-light vision. Their hearing can detect very high-frequency sounds, helping them locate their prey. Whiskers that function as touch sensors to detect nearby objects, help navigate in darkness, and even aid in judging openings and prey position. There are two major group of Felidae, Pantherinae (Big cat) and Felinae (small cat). Eventhough they called big and small, the size not actually what determine this, for example, puma and cheetah are quite large but included in small cat. The "big cat" prominent trait are ability to roar due to specialized structures in their vocal anatomy. The Felidae family evolved approximately 25 million years ago. Fossil evidence suggests that the earliest felids originated in Asia and later spread throughout Europe, Africa, and America.

Tiger

Tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest wild feline and an iconic apex predator recognized by its striped, reddish-orange coat. Unlike most cats, tigers love water, they are elite swimmers capable of traveling up to 29 km a day across river networks, using them to cool off or ambush prey. Their stripes provide perfect disruptive camouflage that is uniquely embedded directly into their skin, meaning a shaved tiger still retains its pattern, which is as unique as a human fingerprint. Anatomically built for short, explosive power rather than endurance, their longer hind legs allow them to leap 5 meters vertically and 10 meters horizontally.

A tiger's roar functions as a psychological weapon, reaching a deafening 114 decibels that can physically vibrate a nearby animal bones. Its most devastating component is infrasound, deep, rumbling frequencies below 18 Hertz. While completely silent to human ears, these low frequency sound waves hit the mammalian nervous system, triggering a split-second of mental and physical paralysis. This effectively "stuns" the prey, providing the tiger with the perfect window to strike.

Siberian tiger

Their fur is incredibly dense to keep them warm when lying on ice, and their paws are massive, round, and covered in thick fur. A main trait of the big cats genus is their ability to roar, but funnily enough, the snow leopard cannot roar due to the specific anatomy of its throat. They are still considered true big cats because DNA analysis shows they are closely related to the tiger. While the snow leopard used to be classified under its own genus as species name Uncia uncia, modern genetic studies moved them directly into the Panthera genus. A major taxonomic review in 2017 took this further by officially mapping their global populations into three distinct regional subspecies.

They are slender and muscular cats, with relatively short limbs and a broad head. Among the big cats, leopards are the second smallest, being larger only than the snow leopard. Leopard is distinguished by its well-camouflaged fur, opportunistic hunting behavior, broad diet, strength, and its ability to adapt to a variety of habitats ranging from rainforest to steppe, including arid and montane areas.

Leopards can climb trees very skillfully and often rest on tree branches, though they must descend from trees backward. They do this to protect the prey against scavengers, which allows for a few days of undisturbed feeding.

Sand cat is a small and elusive wildcat that is specially adapted to survive in some of the harshest desert environments on Earth. They can survive extreme conditions, thriving in areas with little to no water. Unlike many animals, sand cats do not need to drink water regularly to survive, they get most of the moisture they need directly from their prey, such as small mammals, birds, and reptiles. They are also capable of traveling long distances to find food across barren landscapes.

During the day, sand cats avoid the intense heat by sheltering in burrows or under rocks, becoming active mostly at night, making them nocturnal. They are excellent diggers, often taking over the abandoned burrows of rodents or creating their own shelters in the sand. One of the sand cat’s most unique adaptations is the thick layer of fur on the soles of its feet. This fur helps protect its paws from the extreme heat of the desert sand and allows it to move silently while hunting. The padded, fur-covered feet also help the cat walk easily on loose sand without sinking.

The sand cat has a broad, flat face that gives it an owl-like appearance. This wide head, combined with its low-set ears, helps enhance its ability to pick up on even the slightest sounds of prey moving underground or across the dunes.

Cougar, which is also commonly known as mountain lion, is a large cat native to the Americas. They are characterized by their slender, muscular build, which allows for agility and speed. General information:

Eurasian lynx is a medium-sized wild cat that inhabits temperate and boreal forests across Europe and Asia. They are remarkably well-adapted to freezing environments. Their long, powerful legs and heavily furred paws act like natural snowshoes, distributing their body weight to keep them from sinking into deep drifts. While typically nocturnal or crepuscular, they will dynamically switch to hunting during the day when food becomes scarce. True to their feline nature, their primary hunting method relies on meticulous stalking, silent sneaking, and explosive jumps to ambush prey. They possess immense physical strength relative to their size, enough to routinely take down fully grown adult deer.

There are several subspecies of lynx, but I think she's more close to Siberian lynx (Lynx lynx wrangeli), since their color are more pale with less spots.

The Siberian lynx is a large subspecies that inhabits the vast forests and mountainous regions of Russia and parts of Central and East Asia. It is characterized by its thick fur that help it survive harsh winters and deep snow. Siberian lynx has evolved to be a specialized ungulate hunter. Because small rodents are buried deep beneath the permafrost for most of the year, these powerful felines depend on their sheer size and jaw strength to successfully bring down massive roe deer, musk deer, and young wild boar, making them a crucial apex predator of the northern taiga ecosystem. Phantom and Tragodia

General information:

Iberian lynx has a medium-sized body, with a distinctive spotted coat that ranges from tawny to light gray, adorned with black spots that help with camouflage in its natural habitat. It has a short tail with a black tip, long legs, and large, tufted ears that aid in hearing. The tufts of black hair on its ears and its prominent facial ruff, or "beard," give it a highly characteristic appearance. Iberian lynxes also have sharp retractable claws and large, round feet that help them move quietly through dense brush.

Their primary diet consists of the European rabbit, with other food sources being rodents and birds, they have even sometimes been seen hunting young deer.

The Iberian lynx’s range has dramatically decreased due to habitat destruction, road accidents, hunting, and declines in rabbit populations. By the early 2000s, its population dwindled to fewer than 100 individuals, making it the most endangered feline species on Earth at the time. However, thanks to extensive conservation programs including habitat restoration, rabbit population recovery efforts, and captive breeding and reintroduction programs, the Iberian lynx population has staged a historic recovery. IUCN officially stepped its status down from Endangered to Vulnerable, marking it as one of the greatest wildlife conservation success stories ever achieved.

General information:

Pampas cat is a small wild feline found in grasslands, shrublands, and open forests across South America. Although often compared to a domestic cat, it is generally larger and has a much thicker, bushier tail that helps it maintain balance while moving through dense vegetation. There are six distinct variations of its coat pattern across different regions, ranging from striped to spotted forms, but two dark lines on its cheeks are always present. Due to its secretive nature and excellent camouflage, the Pampas cat is rarely seen in the wild, and many aspects of its hunting behavior and breeding habits remain poorly understood.

Pampas cat is a solitary and territorial animal that is mainly active at night or during the cooler hours of dawn and dusk. As an opportunistic carnivore, it feeds on small mammals, birds, and occasionally reptiles and insects. In some areas, rodents and hares make up a large portion of its diet, making the species an important natural pest controller. Despite its relatively small size, the Pampas cat is a skilled hunter capable of taking prey nearly as large as itself. Its sharp senses, stealthy movements, and ability to blend into its surroundings help it survive in a wide variety of habitats throughout South America.

Quercus

General information:

Servals are slender cats that have large ears with a spotted-striped coat. They are the cats with the longest legs relative to their body ratio. These long legs are useful for jumping, which can reach over 2 meters in height. They also have incredibly good hearing due to their large ears, which can move 180° independently of each other.

They usually hide in the presence of predators (such as hyenas), but when found out, they will leap and flee while zig-zagging and changing their direction here and there. Serval is a solitary animal, but pairs will stay together during the mating season, though only for a short time.

They are under threat not only from habitat loss, but because their skin is highly valued. Some cultures also use them in traditional medicine, while some farmers kill them to protect their livestock—even though servals do not actually prey on them. Even though they are considered as Least Concern by the IUCN, serval hunting is prohibited in some areas, while in other places it is heavily regulated.

Haze

General information:

The name "caracal" is derived from the Turkish word karakulak, which literally translates to "black ear." While they are historically known as the Persian lynx due to their tufted ears, they are not actually true lynxes, but are instead closely related to the serval and the African golden cat. They are primarily nocturnal, intensely territorial, and fiercely independent predators that live alone or occasionally in pairs. Standing at a maximum shoulder height of around 50 cm, they possess incredibly powerful, elongated hind legs that act like coiled springs, allowing them to jump over 4 meters high into the air to swat down flying birds mid-flight.

Beyond their jumping prowess, their most distinctive physical feature is the long, black tassels of fur at the tips of their ears. These tufts are controlled by more than 20 individual muscles, allowing the caracal to twitch them independently to channel acoustic waves down into their ears, helping them detect the faint rustle of rodents hiding in deep grass.

This supreme hunting ability was deeply respected throughout history. In ancient Egypt, people tamed and trained caracals to assist them in hunting small game. Their cultural significance was so profound that caracal sculptures and paintings have been found guarding the tombs of pharaohs, serving as sacred spiritual protectors in the afterlife.

Cairn

General information:

Meerkats are small, energetic mammals known for their upright posture when standing guard. Native to the deserts and grasslands of southern Africa, they live in highly social family groups called mobs or clans, which can include up to 30 individuals. Meerkats dig complex underground burrow systems that protect them from predators and extreme desert heat, and they can even close their ears while digging to keep out sand.

Their diet mainly consists of insects, spiders, scorpions, small reptiles, and plant material. Meerkats are highly resistant to the venom of many scorpion species and often remove the stinger before eating them. Using their long, powerful claws, they can quickly dig through soil in search of prey hidden beneath the surface.

While the group is foraging, one or more members act as sentinels, keeping watch for predators such as eagles and jackals. If danger is spotted, the sentinel gives an alarm call that warns the rest of the clan to run for cover. Meerkats also have dark patches around their eyes that help reduce glare from the bright desert sun, making it easier to spot threats from a distance.

General information:

Mongoose are undeniably some of the most badass animals in the natural world, widely celebrated for their ability to fight (and consistently win) against highly venomous snakes, including king cobra. They successfully pull this off through a combination of extreme agility, physical shielding, and internal biochemistry. Biomechanically, mongeese possess lightning-fast reflexes that allow them to repeatedly dodge a serpent's striking speed. If a fanged strike does manage to connect, the mongoose is heavily protected by a thick coat of dense, coarse fur that acts as body armor, making it difficult for short snake fangs to pierce through to the skin.

Even if the venom manages to enter their bloodstream, mongeese possess a specialized internal mutation that makes them completely resistant, or even practically immune to deadly neurotoxins. The venom simply bounces off their cells harmlessly. Their combat strategy is exceptionally calculated and exhausting. They deliberately provoke the snake, continuously evading its rapid-fire attacks and constantly pestering it until the reptile becomes completely physically depleted. Once the snake's movements slow down from exhaustion, the mongoose seizes the perfect opening to deliver a devastating, crushing bite directly to the base of the snake’s skull with its razor-sharp teeth.

Among the various species, the Indian grey mongoose is the most famous for hunting and neutralizing large cobras. These formidable predators are highly adaptable and can be found across a wide variety of habitats throughout the Indian subcontinent and West Asia. However, they strongly prefer open landscapes such as dry grasslands, scrub forests, cultivated agricultural fields, and semi-desert edges. This preference for open areas provides them with the clear lines of sight and flat terrain necessary to utilize their unmatched agility and tactical maneuvering when dancing around a deadly predator.
