Hey, I'm Leo, and welcome to my Crib- eh, Gorillaz Blog

I started getting into Gorillaz in May of 2022 and immediately I was completely fascinated by the music, the artstyle, the different yet unique characters, the lore, and the merchandise. I developed a hyperfixation on it that has lasted persistently so far and that has motivated me to make this blog, as my family and friends are just helplessly annoyed at this point.

Just a few general things, I don't have a favorite member, I vibe with everyone, my favorite albums are both Plastic Beach and The Now Now, and everytime I hear Tranz I feel like my soul leaves my body.

I'm neurodivergent, caretaker of a little spider and three orchids on my windowsill, I love to write, I sing in a choir, I cosplay and I'm learning to play drums.

I will write my own fanfictions and headcanons here but you can also request stuff if you're interested! Anyways, I'm hoping to make some mutuals or meet other people that are equally as interested in the band as I am and I just want to have a nice time!

Murdoc Family Headcanons Pt.2

•Murdoc's dad was actually a warlock, or at least performed some sort of black magic, but over the years, he started regretting it more and more and grew bitter over his powers, not using them anymore and forbidding any topic in the household to fall on them (maybe something happened, who knows 👀)

•The gruesome children's books that he wrote he obviously also read to his children, and found it amusing when they (especially Murdoc when he was younger) got afraid of monsters seemingly lurking in the dark, waiting to catch them in a moment of inattention.

•He's a satanist. He had a book of the occult which is how Murdoc came in contact with the devil for the first time, but he didn't remember it until after he had left the house, and although Murdoc despised everything his dad stood for and had done, he also knew the devil would be a very convenient way of getting what he wanted, therefore also sealing a deal with him.

•Maaayyybbbeee Sebastian was also so violent towards his children not only because he was an alcoholic (and a asshole) but also because they reminded him of their mother's who had left him.

•Hannibal cut his own hair and eventually just got a buzzcut, Murdoc tried to imitate his brother by cutting his hair himself too which went... disastrous so he just let it grow until Hannibal agreed to cut it for him mainly because Murdoc couldn't see anymore through his fringe.

•Murdoc stored alcohol at school, in his locker or under his desk that he had stolen from his dad, which was one of the reasons he almost always reeked of it.

•His school grades were absolutely atrocious but he seemed to almost bloom during music lessons and show a genuine interest. Even if he wasn't very good at the lessons, as shown in the Almanac, and his teacher hated him.

Speaking of the new Cult E-Mail, Murdoc claims that he isn't or wasn't in love with Moon Flower at all, and that that is just a cheap rumor.

Apparently, she is in love with him, which he can tell because she always stared at him when he looked at her through his binoculars. How convenient.

And, she is only giving 2D little gifts and cups of tea because she, of course, wants to make Murdoc jealous of 2D in the hopes he'll realise his feelings and come into her arms. Which won't happen since nothing can lure him from the righteous path (apparently)

But this is a prime example of Murdocs ego (again). He just can not wrap his head around the fact that there is a single woman that does NOT want him. That, in fact, rather wants 2D. Outrageous. So he has to make up a different story to feel better about himself and to say "Hey, she's still into me, she just can't show it >:(" In fact, if Moon Flower and 2D actually become a thing, he'd probably try everything to get them apart just because he can not see another person being happy in love that is not him. Which is another prove of the fact that he is incredibly jealous of 2D and this just made it worse.

No you’re correct about this.. It really made me wonder WHY so many people do not care about Dday at all or just dub it as another funny haha event.

I think it all comes down to the fact that 2D himself doesn’t seem to care too much about it either. He mentions it a few times in interviews and even PRAISED murdoc for “saving his life” so in turn the fans are like ‘oh okay, we’re chill about this, next.’

Another thing that contributes to the dismissal of Dday is the fact that we have such a gap of knowledge in that time frame. All we know is that he got up and awoke from his coma. We have NO IDEA how murdoc explained all of this to 2D or about any of the legal crap that was dismissed because 2D was knocked back out of his coma. Does 2D himself even know the whole story? (Spoiler: we have no clue!)

I think the bottom line is that fans often dismiss it because 2D never makes a big deal of it. I guarantee you if 2D ever started making a big fuss, people would start talking.

Also, yes, one thing that never came to my mind is, that there is quite the signifact gap between events. We know Murdoc raided the keyboard store, we know he was caught by police, we know part of his sentence was to take care of Stu, but that's pretty much where the chronological order ends. Next thing we know is that Murdoc is trying to impress girls and Stu flies through the windscreen (accidentally and because no one bothered to strap him into the backseat)

How long was he in a coma? How much did he remember of the events? Shouldn't he have been like... afraid of Murdoc at least a tiny bit? Did Murdoc continue to take care of him afterwards or did he just leave him with that 8-ball fracture and not much context? I mean I doubt 2-D would really be able to recollect much of what happened, I wouldn't be surprised if his brain blocked the memory of that event a but to protect him, but it must be fucking scary to wake up from a coma by crashing through the windscreen and onto the pavement of a street you have no idea where it even is. The more I think about this the more horrifying it gets-
