the underlying theme of Borderlands has always been corporate greed sucking a planet & it’s people dry with with no regard for anything other than their own monetary gain. for people to latch this hard onto the character who ultimately learned NO lesson from his journey & went from “i want to be the CEO of this company” to “i want to be the CEO of this THIS OTHER COMPANY instead” is so… unsurprising.

Borderlands is rich with characters who fit the anti-capitalism, rage-against-the-machine, anarchy-forever aesthetic/message of the series & yet somehow they get overshadowed by straight white corporate fuckboys 1 & 2 who are basically hailed as the best characters of the series when in all actuality they’re incredibly boring (i will admit Handsome Jack was at least an incredibly written villain. but not for the reasons people TYPICALLY praise him for. he was a master manipulator & beautiful look at narcissism validating it’s vileness as Right) more deserving, better fleshed out, more unique & interesting characters get shunted aside (or called the REAL bad guys when compared to Jack??) so we can focus more attention on bland boring rhys. i’m sick of new content coming out & the entire internet ONLY talking about Rhys. i’m sick of new information all centering around where Rhys is or what Rhys is doing.& i have no interest whatsoever in a “now help your new CEO bff in his corporate war!” storyline. absolute no thanks. (& i realize this is a more content related complaint but it’s Rhy’s fault i now have to do this so it’s getting aired too.)
