Ellie grinned at her friend “You’re welcome, sugar.” It was nice, the silence that ensued between the two of them and how comfortable she was in it. She leaned there against him and a warm, safe feeling blossomed in her chest that seemed to seep through the rest of her. Rhys had become very important to her. The blonde sat up straight, looking at him “Baby blues, get real.” She laughed, shaking her head “A bodyguard? It’s not like I’m some celebrity.” She nudged his shoulder with her own “I’ll be okay, Rhys.” She flashed a smile.
Rhys gaze rested on Ellie, the honesty and concern mapped across his face. Like he would be losing sleep over this. He was certain he would. Yet, for his friend, he allowed it to slide but told himself this would be the last time he would turn his cheek on the matter. “You’re right... why would you need one if you have me here?” The brunette grinned before kissing the roof of her head. “What would you like for dinner?”
killaxkenna:
“Ya know, I gotta give you props man. Not many dudes would admit to reading this pirate porn. Good on you.”
“They’re not so bad, right? Well written.” Rhys chuckled. “I’d rather be caught owning this series than any of the 50 Shades of Grey saga.”
savingsutton:
“Do I have to order pizza tonight, or would you help me cook dinner?”
“I love to cook so I'd be happy to help whip up something. I’m no professional though.”

Ellie grinned when she heard Rhys’ little snort, tipping her head to the side to just appreciate him standing there in the dying light “You are so very handsome, Rhys.” She sighed as he climbed into bed beside her, she glanced back at him as he got comfortable and then down at the glass of juice in her hand “I guess so.” The woman wasn’t too sure how true that statement was, she could be very selfish. The light touch to her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts and she scooted back to lean up against the headboard beside him, tipping her head to the side to rest it against his shoulder. “Maybe I should just hire a bodyguard.” She laughed, trying to lighten the mood.
Rhys bowed his head sideways and had to force himself to accept the compliment, only because he wasn’t egotistical enough to respond immediately. “Thank you.” He would tell Ellie how lovely she was in return but didn’t want the compliment to seem fake. Of course Ellie should already know how appealing she was from the outside, and for Rhys it was the inside that counted most. He welcomed her to lean against him and he felt very content having her safe here. Rhys wanted to say more about his concern, but he imagined a number of people had already expressed themselves that way to the girl before, and these worries were already apparent in her mind. He aimed to be there for her in different ways and hopefully efficiently. “I know plenty.” Rhys confessed, his voice gentle. “I could make a call... anything to make sure you’ll be safe.” Hell, he’d even pay for it. It wasn’t like his money was being put to much use anyway. Not since he was sitting out after the surgery.
lennyxdominguez:
“Can you handle it though? This is the question.”
“And please teach me how to speak like you speak. That is just adorable and terrifying all rolled into one strange accent.”
“There’s only one way to find out, right?” Rhys replied playfully, excited by the prospect.
“I’ll be happy to teach you. Haha terrifying? Really?”
professorwaites:
He lifts his head when he hears the footfalls draw near, but he doesn’t turn around. “Come in.”
Rhys stalled for only a moment before opening the respective door, clutching a number of envelopes in his hand. “Hi, I’m Rhys. 13C. There’s uh been a bit of a mix up with our postage.”
killaxkenna:
“I think you need to check the postage address when you order this shit. It keeps turning up at my door. While I enjoyed the first book, I can’t say that much for the seven that followed.”
Rhys immediately became flustered, “O-oh god. That’s--shit... I’m very sorry.” Though he supposed she must have enjoyed them.
elliehxlms:
Ellie watched Rhys, handsome and charming Rhys, enter the room with a glass of juice and beer “Oh, a beer for me? Ya shouldn’t have, sweet man.” The blonde grinned and outstretched her arms to receive the glass from him “Thank ya kindly, sir.” Ellie sat up to better look at him, taking a sip from the drink he’d brought to her “Nono, I’m off stage until this heels up. No one wants their stripper bruised and beaten.”
Ellie’s flattery made Rhys snort though the light hearted banter didn’t deter the concern still hovering in the back of his mind. “Of course.” Finding a seat beside his friend he relaxed by propping up a few of his pillows against the headboard, leaning back against them. “Always thinking about others.” Rhys tsked, tracing his knuckles affectionately across her shoulder. “You have to do this for your own good, your health... then maybe you won’t have to worry about hospitals anymore.”
catherinebmore:
“I’d love to join!” She pulled out her phone and texted her babysitter that she’d be back late, and she smiled at the man.
He showed a characteristic sideways grin and lead the way at a relaxed pace. “If you need to take it to go I understand.” Rhys added, noting the text she sent.
catherinebmore:
“What’re you having for dinner?”
“Steak, salad, it’s pretty basic comfort food.”
catherinebmore:
“Not that I know of, no.”
“I was going to make dinner, so you’re welcome to join me if you’d like. I tend to cook for two, it’s a habit.”
elliehxlms:
“Oh my God, a bed that doesn’t feel like a cement block!” The blonde winced as she fell a little too hard on to the mattress “Ooh, still sore.” Ellie exhaled loudly as she got comfortable “I’m so happy to be out of that hospital though.”
Rhys was relieved to find Ellie out of the hospital. Though they’d only known one another for a short time this mishap reminded him how much he loathed being trapped in a clinic. Walking into his bedroom he held a glass of orange-mango juice in one hand, a beer in the other, and handed the former to his friend. Wearing a grin on his face he stood at the center of the room watching the blonde fondly. “It is one of the best feelings. Hopefully you can get some proper rest before getting back on stage.”
delightful-darcy:
“Does anyone have any advil?”
“I’ve got plenty to spare.”
