hi carrot! a while ago, in an ask about the casts halloween costumes, you mentioned iggy possibly dressing up as shion from no. 6. naturally, i have two queries:
have you read/watched no. 6, and are you a fan of it?
do you think iggy would read/watch no. 6, and would he be a fan of it?
an aside, ive been rereading no. 6 for the last while (cough cough the reason for my interest here), and the similarities between shion and iggy have been popping up in my head all the while -- as well as the striking differences! its been quite interesting, and highlighted my perspectives on either character.

yeah i watched no. 6! though it's been years now (i think i watched it when it first came out???) so i haven't even thought about it now in a long time. fun fact: my friend and i published a no. 6 doujinshi in japan (she wanted to publish a doujin as part of her class?? and asked me to draw it, and then we went through a publisher and she sold it at a con)
as for iggy, i think there's a high chance that he has watched it and enjoyed it. he tends to like some of the older shows rather than most modern shows so he's seen a lot of older series and it just has a vibe that i think he would like and appreciate (and perhaps feel slightly seen in)

i'd probably need to actually watch it again to be able to give any of my own actual opinions on iggy vs shion similarities and differences since it's just been too long, but i really love this idea!!! 💕💕
dont know how it took this long but wow guys our wonderland oc. hes mostly a prose guy but i tried to draw him
spawned out of a webbing of thoughts about orlam -- majorly how he engages with his subjects & the rabbits, and the reflections of himself in that. this character is a personified exploration of that
↓ description of him. warnings for: descriptions of traumatic acclimation, past abuse and murder. themes of living under tyranny and slavery. allusions to present abuse and suicidal ideation
this guy is an attendant of sorts, who slowly morphed into something else.
hes large even for a rabbit, and is overgrown and shaggy. his fur is thick and brittle, a muted brown like a warm and muddy pool, and he has dense and heavy hands.
he is dour and quiet, soft like damp mold and hard like the ear-blistening crack of heavy wood splitting down the middle.
hes stewing and broiling about his situation, but believes fully that he cannot do anything about it -- instead, he fuels his discontent back into itself until it morphs into nihilistic enjoyment.
he thinks people like jerry are idealistic idiots.
the thought of living past this life, this castle, this kingdom, this king, is impossible to him. he will live this life forever, or he will die when it dies. he believes more or less the same for every other subject, but wholly for himself.
orlam pretends he doesnt exist. blocks him out of his mind, until the eventual reccurring moment where his emotions flood him, and nothing else will do anymore. this guy is his vessel for taking out these such emotions, externalized through orlam's eye and hand.
his role is a picture of familiarity and all desired from it.
he is to orchestrate the gentle stroke of babys hair -- the screaming slam of bedroom door -- the pull of a shirt collar and shove to the linoleum -- a silent dance -- in body of brown fur, floppy ear, quivering whisker.
so as he does these familiarities and fantasy - orlam pretends he doesnt exist.
they have a room, that is small, and dark, and smells ambiently of must and mold. it is practically a storage closet, and is located near orlam's chambers. it has a single window, with a wall on the immediate other side.
him and orlam have very differing views of their relationship. and though he is somewhat aware orlam does not pay much attention to his personhood, using him rather as a glass to hold what he pleases, he greatly underestimates the extent of this.
he thinks, or hopes, that orlam sees some sliver of a genuine, mutual relationship between them. he can be quite arrogant in this, seeing himself as paradoxically distinct from any other servant or subject.
mostly, he sees himself as irreplaceable. he is entirely disposable.
i can picture orlam killing him easily and suddenly: full of spit and emotion, in fear and overwhelm; or silently, in a reinstation of power over the things hes made him to embody; but most inevitably, he will kill him when genzou comes and fills the niche much better than some rabbit can. maybe he wont even kill him personally.
he doesnt have a name, but ive nicknamed him 'shag'.
i have a bit of a full plot for him in my head. funnily, orlam does not make much direct appearance (though its still very much a study of him, just through shag.. characters are fun like that). maybe someday, ill put it into something
thankyou so so much if you read this yay :D its mostly a proxical study of orlam, but i realise as im writing hes also quite birthed from my current struggles on my, my family's, and local peoples' living under systemized violence. anyway blah i tried to write it like a bit of a story, which was fun, and i hope its enjoyable to read. i hope u like my guy
