I have been a fan of M83 since “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming” but have never looked back further into their music than “Saturdays = Youth”. This song popped up on my computer by chance. Now I honestly think it is one of their best songs. I always enjoy how M83′s music builds into what can only be described as a “wall” of sound. The perfect balance between electronic elements and production and live instrumentation.

Probably my favourite song of last year. Certainly made my year a lot better haha! A stellar collaboration between two individual and unique artists. This collaboration has been years in the making with both Porter & Madeon knowing each other from before either of them had music careers; chatting on music production forums. As their careers, took of they met and became firm friends. The song itself I think is everything a collaboration between two artists can be. It combines both their sounds so effortlessly without trying to sound more like on artist than the other. The use of sound fonts and the vastness of the chords in the chorus is textbook Porter and the twinkly arpeggios and the vocal-sliced lead is classic Madeon. Add the catchy vocal and what is created is pure synth magic. For fans of lighthearted synthpop/EDM pop. Also, everyone should check out the anime video created by none other than Porter himself in collaboration with Crunchyroll Studios, Japan which is truly emotional experience!

Someone who is really coming along leaps and bounds and pushing the envelope with every track she releases, REZZ has really been a refreshing sound to my ears. Since I was a young teenager, I have been into a lot of varying styles of bass music but I feel as if REZZ is really creating a style that is entirely her own. Even though her songs are down on the tempo compared to other style of music, The way she composes her tracks makes them just as dance-able.This track is one of my favourites of hers; Starting with a simple lead synth echoing an eerie melody over the top of some crunched and distorted drum samples before dropping straight into one of the most interesting beats I have heard in a track in a long time. The beat feels disjointed but punchy and there are a variety of different bass sounds that don’t conform to your traditional “wub wub” sound which is so overdone nowadays... Worth a listen for any bass head looking for something original

Always find that Madeon fans are more devoted than most. Madeon’s music to me certainly feels a lot deeper than most of the electronic dance/pop out their at the moment. Fan art like this shows how much his music touches people. This is a great piece

It’s like 80′s synth pop hit noughties indie and then bounced off some IDM as well. What The M Machine have created with their debut album, Glare is something that is entirely their own. I’ve followed their work since they were signed to Owsla and where making a more EDM based sound. However, as their sound has evolved over the years, They have always seemed to maintain a signature that makes you instantly recognise the song as an M Machine track. “I Am” is definitely a personal favourite of mine. Vocally, I am reminded of 80′s Depeche Mode even Bowie in places. Sonically, I am reminded of nu-rave indie of the noughties, the atmospheric analogue sounds of Caribou and even hints of the dirty electro sound they used to peddle. They draw on so many sounds in this record but it is executed so easily and it all seems to make sense too. For anyone who is looking for refreshing, original indie-electronic sound.

I’m gonna go straight into it with some obscure shit. I first discovered Objekt 2 years ago whilst studying at college. At the time, I was going for a look that was consisted of tat from charity shops. I wanted to be so edgy. My musical taste reflected this. I listened to Objekt as it was perhaps the most well arranged & produced collection of obscure, dark and downright doolally collection of sounds comprised. Nowadays, I have come far more down-to-earth and ditched the mis-sized blazers and gaudy shirts for a more casual vibe which is very much more my own. So when I listen to Objekt now, I am a very different person and actually genuinely appreciate what the this little British guy living in Berlin is doing. He draws in a number of styles from dubstep, garage & techno but seemingly never more one than the other. His clever use of one shot samples that disappear into bizarre uses of of reverb and delay really set apart his sound from other producers. His track mixes to me always sound well balanced, even though the amount of sound in my mind would normally sound like chaos. This is one of those tracks that when you listen you hear something new everytime. check it out!

Hello there! I’m going to sum this up as simply as possible...I have started a music blog! The plan is to share my musical tastes with the rest of the world and hopefully to introduce new music to people. My taste is mainly based in the electronic music world but that is a very broad spectrum nowadays and i’m always looking into other styles of music also. This is something I have wanted to try for a while and i’m eager to get started.
