I use vanilla powder when a recipe calls for vanilla extract/essence such as in my cookie dough. It's just finely ground vanilla pods and is potent stuff. It has the added benefit of being sugar and alcohol free unlike most extracts. Just be careful not to use too much in as it can turn your mix a bit brown if its light in colour 😕 Also when shopping for vanilla powder make sure to read the label as some brands add in extra bit and bobs. Soooo my first attempt at making blender ice cream was to blend ice cubes with soya milk, soya cream and a salted date caramel I made. This I admit was quite disgusting. Reminisant of when I thought it would be a good idea to freeze sugar free tropical squash as an ice lolly. Nope. Dont try that one either! The second attempt was much more successful. Freezing my usual vanilla ice cream base in ice cube trays then blending worked a treat. I will say that it's really quite icy but if youre looking for a quick frozen fix then this could work for you if you have a high speed blender!
