âAt least you have manners too.â She led him up and onto the deck, motioning at one of the crewman to pull up the board leading to the pier below. Pausing at the top, she addressed the lanky blonde pulling it up. âWeâre sailing out today. Tell the others to prepare, minus Rafen, I will speak with him. Otherwise, I will be below deck if any of you should need me.â There was a good wind today, and it would be cooler out on the waves. It would also prevent her new guest from running if he started to get scared. A loud thunk on deck signaled the board being hoisted onto it, and the men shuffled to the sails as she made her way to the bow to find Rafen, Red trailing after her. âRed. Feel free to move around the deck. Donât get in trouble with anyone.â She glanced back at him. âRafen is my first mate. Iâm going to give him directions and speak with him briefly.â

@redheadedoutlaw said: It was dawn over the ports of Bilgewater, and a young red head was just waking, the sound of his stomach telling him what to do, quickly stealing himself some breakfast, he ran with the ill gained meal, little knowing what lied in store for him as he turn a corner. â Fortune was on her way to the Syren for the dayâs work, shielding her eyes as she gazed upwards to watch the gulls circle in the morningâs light. The smoke from her cheroot curled in front of her and she lowered her hand to flick the ashes from it, exhaling the earthy smelling smoke in a sigh. It was going to be hot today. She barely had time to put the cigar back between her lips before the kid came running around the corner, her hands flying up to his shoulders to stop him. âLucky your ass didnât get a face full of ash just now.â âWhat the hell?â She growled under her breath. @redheadedoutlaw
The boy visually gasped when he saw who grabbed his shoulders, Miss Fortune, the pirate queen of Bilgewater, on reflex he went to hide what he had stolen, but could not hide his dirty cloths, messy red hair, or, most interesting of all, a pair of hex tech revolvers, looking to be custom made âs-sorry maâamâŚâ
Shouting from the corner he had just come from caught his ear and he was reminded why he was running as the person he had stolen the food from, a rather large looking brute, stopped right behind him âoi, ya little sneak, gave me back my breakfist and i might spare some of yer teefâ he said with a slur, unaware or just not careing who was with the boy.
The revolvers didnât go unnoticed, nor did the overall appearance of the boy. Flashes of memories surfaced of a younger girl, running through these same streets and stealing food to get by. She made a noise of frustration through her nose. Almost like a natural reflex, she whipped her pistols out from the leather on her hip and pressed the cold metal muzzle to the underside of the bruteâs jaw. She used her free hand to push the kid behind her, addressing his pursuer. âI suggest you go crawl back in whatever hole you came out of, and you forget you ever saw this kid. Got me?â The question was obviously hypothetical as she twisted the barrel for emphasis.
the man visually gulped and backed up âs-sorry maâam, wonât be happening againâ and like that he ran with his tail between his legs, the boy on the other hand, was awestruck by what had just happened ât-thank you Miss, but⌠why did you help me?â
Fortune holstered the weapon and pinched the bridge of her nose, ignoring the question for a moment to sigh again. She moved her hand, flicking the cigar down and crushing it beneath her boot heel. âLetâs just say you remind me of someone.â Unbelievable. Was she really engaging in this conversation right now? She had work to do, and no time to save some street rat. âHow old are you, kid?âÂ
âIâm 12 ma'amâ he said, revealing the food heâd stolen to take a bite âand the name is Kid Redâ he grinned. Once he had finished his meal, the young red head was sure what to say, heâd never really had to talk to some one before âso⌠Who do I remind you of?â
â12, huh?â She stroked her fingers over her jaw, inclining her head to the side and closing her eyes as she thought. Of course it wasnât clear to him that she was talking about herself. No one knew anything about what really happened to her in the past. âCan you work?â She opened her eyes and stared down at him, her gaze flicking back to the revolvers. âYou wonât have to steal your meals if you can make yourself useful to me.â
The offer took him by surprise, but he was quick to answer âyes maâam, i can tinker with Hextech if you want, like with me revolvers, though i am not really a good shot with themâ he kicked the dirt beneath his feet at that last commend, it was an overstatement in his eyes.
he suddenly looked up, eyeâs full of determination âbut if i work for you, i can learnâ
âA bad shot does me no good.â She scoffed, spitting to the side and crossing her arms. âBut I like that look in your eyes so Iâll give you a chance.â She uncrossed her arms and continued walking in the direction she was originally headed. âFollow me.â The whole ordeal hadnât taken more than a few minutes, but Rafen would most likely still be wondering what was taking her so long. Not to mention she was bringing this kid onto the ship too. No matter which way she looked at it, he would have something to say that she wouldnât like and they would probably argue about it. Luckily, she had a few hextech revolvers in her cabin below deck, a recent haul from a run in with a bandit ship by Piltover coast. âIâll give you something to tinker with, but I donât suppose I need to tell you what happens if you try to steal from me.â
Miss fortune!Â

Chance Encounter
âIâm not one thatâs going to turn down an offer of a drink.â She giggled in that slightly buzzed but also confident way. âAbout you getting a kiss. Youâll have to earn that one. The first one was on me.â She leaned back as well, spreading her arm over the back of the chair and letting her fingers hang close to his arm. âAn assassin. A Du Couteau assassin too.â Her emerald eyes gleamed as she let the name course over her tongue. âI feel like I should feel intimidated, but I feel more excited than anything.â @ducouteautalon
Talon slowly turned towards the bar again as he waved down the waiter to come down so he could get her another. He wasnât really planning on drinking a lot, but perhaps he would with her. A night spent like this wouldnât be a bad one. He already got a kiss from her, perhaps he would get more lucky.
âI never said I could get another free one.â He chuckled, amused by the woman that was next to him. âPerhaps Iâll have to steal one by the end of the night.â He mused
As the bartender looked up and walked over as he walked forward.
âWhatever she wants, Iâll pay.â He insisted, he beckoned her to order.
As she was close to him and inquired information on him. He gazed at her and felt the same. He was intrigued and never the less he would make sure that he knew more about the captain.
A smirk.
âExcited hm? Iâm not too terribly exciting, but you must have some stories to tell about yourself. After all you are from Bilgewater.â @bilgewaterpiratequeen
âGive me the strongest you got.â She smiled at the bartender, the amusement making her green eyes shine with a hint of malice. âAnd donât play me for a fool. I will know if you go easy on me.â She turned her attention back to the assassin, standing to remove the frock and flicking her braid over her shoulder, exposing her neck nonchalantly. This obviously wasnât her first round at something like this. âWell put a bounty on that kiss, and Iâm sure youâll get it.â She grinned, moving her hand over her collarbone now that the mantles of the coat werenât covering her. Her other hand stroked the butt of one of her pistols sensually, but it was also a reminder of her danger. Like a toxic predator that flashes itâs poisonous colors. âNow.â She sat back down and took the offered drink from the bartender, sipping it and nodding approvingly. âLetâs get to know one another better.â @ducouteautalon
"Aren't you a bit short to be a queen? Sort of supposed to be looking very in charge and powerful, and yet when I was told I would find a lady I simply find someone so weak they cannot fight without guns and so short they need special shoes to look normal height. Pathetic."
The Captain smirked, fingers moving over the walnut grips of her pistols. âItâs obvious youâre not from around here if thatâs your idea of an insult.â Pacing a half circle to get a better look at the towering woman, she whistled, but continued as though it hadnât happened. âHeight has nothing to do with leadership, and itâs not always brute force that gets the job done. I have many abilities beyond my weapons, and most donât rely on them at all.â She exuded confidence, not at all shaken by the gruff approach of the woman standing just about a full foot taller than her. Part of her wanted to reach out and run her hands over those muscles, but there hadnât been any alcohol involved in this meeting, and she didnât seem the type to be responsive to coy flirting. Her nails tapped as she gave her yet another once over.âIâm flattered if you came all this way just to say that to me though.âÂ
She jolted, tensing as though she had been physically hit by the words. Considering her familiarity with waking from nightmares, the reaction was more mild than a normal personâs might have been. Pushing herself up, she looked down with cloudy green eyes, lacking the energy to give much of a response. Hope Sejuani hadnât been hoping for her to lash out or something. âRight.â She mumbled as she kicked her legs over the edge of the bed, reaching for dagger in a nearby drawer. Though she could undo the knots without cutting the rope, it was easier to just flick her wrist and let them fall away from each of her limbs one by one. She rubbed at her eyes with the back of her hand and reached down to pick up her shirt. Displeased with the moisture still clinging to it, she tossed it to the corner and moved to the dresser for a fresh one. The sea breeze was starting to cool, and the draft through the window felt wonderful against her drenched skin, but she wasnât one to just walk around without at least a simple shirt. Fanning her hair out from beneath the collar of an overly long shirt, she looked down. Also on the dresser was a small vial of what appeared to be some sort of oil; a thick clear liquid with a green tint and a strong smell once opened. She put some in her hands and turned around, motioning for Sejuani to give her wrists over to her to apply it.

"Are you⌠trying to flirt with me?â
âAbsolutely.â
âThen you should consider that, if I have to query the fact you are, you are probably not doing a good job. Am I not supposed to feel flattered? All you leave me with is confusion.â
âWhat Iâve considered is that I like to keep people guessing. Even if you donât feel flattered, you still keep thinking about me; maybe even more so because you spend more time trying to figure it out.â
âBut if I am only thinking about how bothersome you are, or stupid, you have not won. Not even close. All you do is cause me to linger on a negative opinion of you which cements said impression, ruining your further chances.â
âYet I think if I threw myself at you like a concubine, I would be making just as negative of an impression. Iâll try to find a balance, since I think itâs worth the effort and all.â
