"We Join in Condolences for the Death of Painting"

This is based off an actual event in Indonesian art history called "black december" where a group of young artists protested against the "depolitization" of art in an era of dictatorship.

The artists sent a karangan bunga/ bouquet that is usually used for mourning a death but they added the twist that they are mourning the death of "painting" (the current state of the Indonesian art world at the time).
