So I just saw NY BMC (On Aug. 29th) and I have some thoughts. I used to think Jeremy was bi but after this I don’t think he is. His interactions with Michael seem more like Michaels pining a bit but he doesn’t even notice/care than kinda half-flirting. I also think that Michael and Rich bonded while M came to visit J in the hospital, and R asked if he was single to make sure he wouldn’t be crossing a line by asking M out. TL;DR Jer’s str8, Michael pines but got over him with Rich, M&R 4 life.

I will never have the honor of watching this show live but at least we have ya’ll to confirm all this stuff. People can argue that Rich/Michael aren’t canon, but they’re way more canon than any possible LGBT ships in the show and that’s good enough for me.

I am so obsessed with @kaachiiin ‘s art style recently, I couldn’t resist commissioning them my otp!
You: Rich only has a crush on Michael because he’s the first guy Rich sees when finally rid of the squip. Michael also swatted Richs hand away during Voices in my head, showing his disinterest. Expensive headphones is not canon.
Me, an intellectual: Michael only crushes on Jeremy, because he’s the only person Michael has been able to befriend thanks to his social anxiety. Having someone (Rich) actively trying to befriend him, instead of treating him like shit like his other high school peers, might actually make Michael see that Jeremy isn’t his only option. AND not holding Rich’s hand doesn’t have to be a sign of Michael not being interested, but could just mean that he’s just never been in a romantic relationship before/had anyone be interested in him before, hence he’s not very experienced with physical affection.
We never see Christine and Jeremy actually getting together (just Cristine agreeing to lunch with Jeremy), still we all view Playdorks (theathre dorks? Idk JeremyxChristine) as canon. That’s how I view expensive headphones: we didn’t get to see them officially get together, but their future relationship is heavily implied.

Wait, what? Is there actually shipping discourse between boyf riends and expensive headphones? I ship both, because I think they’re both awesome but in different ways but I didn’t there was any fighting over it. Is it serious, or it it pretty minor? Asking as someone who just got out of a fandom due to the toxic shipping wars and is in no mood to enter another one.
That really depends on who you surround yourself with. I only know about the discourse because I frequently visit the ship’s hashtag and I see a lot of boyf fans spamming the exp head hashtag with their boyf riends content and their distaste for expensive headphones. Exp head shippers just kinda mind their own business. They don’t respond to the hate at all, or at least that’s what I’ve seen so far. So if anything, it’s more of a one-sided discourse.
