Seen a lot of comments talking about this I don’t find anything wrong with Jack taking off his ring if he ready to date again ? I don’t see how that a disrespect to his wife in any way . Shawn said in an interview while doing press for season 2 that in his mind the passing was like 2-3 years so by now in season 3 that would make it about almost 4 years since her passing .That a long time that the character took to mourn it not something he just easily got over. But I think it totally understandable and okay if he entering a new chapter in life and for the first time for him is ready to open that part of himself up . It not like he took off the ring and chuck in the trash lol pretty sure it something he always keep but he just is not wearing anymore .

Shawn in that new interview is wearing a wedding ring so that a clear indication that him not wearing it while filming is definitely an important aspect of his character arc in season 3. That Abbot not wearing a ring for a reason.
