being in a writing block daniella had to get out of her own head and just relax somewhere else outside of her room. maybe something would come to her when she wasn’t thinking about it.well, trying not to think about it. one of the places where she thought would be a perfect place to do so was down on the side of the pool. she found herself a spot on a pool side bed laying down on it. she noticed someone else with her clearly doing laps in the pool. she was surprised there pretty much no one around. daniella watched him for a moment with a small smile. he was hot. too hot. daniella being daniella got up from her spot and walked over to the pool and sat down at the side dipping her legs in. “ this is definitely a good way to work out. ” she shrugged up a shoulder. “ it really does give good results. obviously. ”

he became aware that somebody else was there at the pool when out of the corner of his eye he saw something in the water. stopping mid stroke he saw a young woman sitting at the edge of the pool, letting her legs dangle in the water. “sure is, it’s one of my favorite things to do when i want to burn off some energy.” the woman’s compliment made him smile at her, and slowly he began to swim over to her at the side of the pool. “thank you. do you swim much?” reaching the edge of the pool where she was sitting, rick let himself float between her legs, looking up at the adorable face staring down at him. “rick. nice to meet you.”

lounging by the pool had easily become one of princess’ favorite things to do while she was at the hotel. she could spend hours there, just hanging out and scrolling through her social media accounts. even though she’d only ever been in the pool once, it was nice watching the other guests at the hotel enjoy themselves in the water. with her sunglasses setting on her nose and a drink in hand, she watched a man she was sure she’d never seen before swim laps around the pool for well over half an hour now and princess was sure it was one of the most attractive things she’d ever seen. mostly because she couldn’t swim herself, so she found it impressive. “one more wouldn’t hurt, right?” she teased, pulling her sunglasses off and placing them next to her before sitting up to get a better look at him. “that’s honestly so cool. i couldn’t swim like that to save my life.” 

coming to a stop after finishing a lap, rick reached for the edge of the pool and began to tread water as he took a few deep breaths. now he saw someone else there at poolside, and rick laughed at her comment. “nah i don’t think so. it’s all good for you.” she was petite, cute and had the face of an angel, rick couldn’t resist shooting her a smile. “what makes you think you couldn’t? it just takes practice, i bet i could get you swimming here just as well. so long as you don’t mind getting wet.”

“we’ve never been the type to do small talk.” she corrected before letting out a soundly gasp as his arms grabbed her like she was as light as a feather.  it was so effortless, maybe even more so than before. flashbacks hit her so suddenly that she was already breathless. their first night together, their spontaneous urges to devour each other, the feeling of belonging to somebody who knew exactly what she wanted and needed. it was a weird feeling, but she embraced it. there were times when she was craving for it, alone in the small apartment she moved in following their divorce. it ached, and had dreamed of being with him again, like the good ole days. and they were good. whenever someone asked about her divorce, the reason behind it, they assumed they were too busy to fulfill their marriage duties. it left nikki laughing. if only they knew.

her back slammed against the cold surface, which only made her wrap her legs around his waist tighter. “hello —” babe, she wanted to say but she bit her lip gently instead. “now kiss me again.” her lips were curled in a smirk as she pressed her mouth against his again. it grew more intense by the second and she was loving it. a hand rested on his neck while the other tried to pull up the shirt she grabbed on so hardly it left wrinkles. if rick’s voice felt like magic to her senses, so did his kiss. she teasingly brushed her tongue over his, deepening the kiss to the point of no return. “please, tell me you want this too.” she begged in a voice that was completely different from only a few minutes ago. she pressed herself against him, pulling away from the heated kiss. she was not scared of making a fool of herself, acting and sounding so desperate, the first time reuniting with her ex-husband. in fact, she could not care about this any less. it was not right, but it felt right. she never believed in fate, but the fact they were in this crazy place together appeared like the sign she needed to let go of any doubt. 

when she was right, she was right, small talk for them wasn’t necessary when actions could and did say so much more. even without talking for years now all it took was one look to send them right back into this absolute need to be with one another physically. it was no surprise they’d gotten together on their first date, it was always a whirlwind around them. “you’re right, there’s better ways to communicate.” it was obvious neither of them held a grudge for things ending, so getting to know one another again was a very welcome surprise now.

he pressed her against the wall and groaned as tight legs grappled around him. “hi.” he was breathing heavily from the close feel of nikki up against him, laughing at her command caused him to do exactly that. this time the kiss was deeper than before, he frantically moved his tongue in synch with hers as all the desires from the past came rushing back to rick now. as she tried to strip the shirt off of him she begged him to admit to wanting this also. it would have been beyond difficult if he hadn’t, but they did have that connection always. “i want you, nikki. you and this.” she had his shirt half off now, pressing it up showing off his six-pack, while his hand busied itself grabbing her ass firmly.

this voice. she could recognize it through the most crowded concert at coachella or in the most heated night at one of vegas’ biggest casinos. the simple sound of his voice used to send shivers down her spine, to give her goosebumps and to… in other terms, it always turned her on. and this particular moment was no different. “rick.” she was practically inaudible. despite being distracted by his physique — she swore it became more handsome than the last time she saw him even though this seemed impossible — her mind was going crazy. she asked herself why she enrolled with this kind of funny business, she almost regretted going out, she even had a hard time trying to remember how she could have moved on with her life without seeing him. veronica looked at him again, from head to toe, as if she was trying to evaluate the size of her future guilt trip.

“get in there.” she commanded, her head pointing at the elevator she struggled to keep open and her brows raised on her forehead, letting him know she was already curious of what would happen. her chocolate eyes met his, she was insisting. the tornado of thoughts that occupied her mind a few seconds ago dissipated. the only thing she was thinking of was him. them. them? no, just him. nikki did not wait any longer and grabbed his shirt, pulling him along as she hurried in the narrow space.

his ex-wife standing right here in front of him. shock and surprise ran through rick when he saw her, as well as a little fear wondering what her response would be to seeing him. though their marriage had ended, it wasn’t on a particularly sad note. compared to most divorces it felt like theirs was a breeze somehow. but a couple of years was a long time to go without seeing someone. he watched nikki and at the same time became fully aware of how great she looked. better than ever in fact, and she didn’t take long to indicate what she was thinking. a full throated statement came at him and so did nikki, pulling him by the shirt and demanding he follow her into the small expanse of the lift.

she did have this habit of being forceful when pressed, and it was not an unwelcome gesture here now. rick moved quickly, following her grip and joining her in the elevator as the doors closed behind them. it was privacy she wanted and more, and damn did he ever now too. “guess hello is in order?” he breathed and put his arms around her tiny body to pull her into a clinch. and just like that the past years melted away with a kiss on nikki’s perfectly contoured lips, with ease he guided his former wife up against the wall of the elevator and let the kiss sink in as he pressed his body to her. “damn you still look good.” and she tasted even better.

ex-jock turned personal trainer from california, he’s a total free spirit and very easygoing, gets along with just about everyone. but if you make him mad, his temper burns hot.

loves to surf, play sports and be outdoors in general. has to keep fit because of his job, and it doesn’t hurt he’s got one hell of a good metabolism.

got married a few years ago to someone he barely knew, after a whirlwind couple of weeks together. the marriage didn’t last, most say they just dove in headfirst without thinking... which might have been the case, since the sex was so good. he really did love her though, and even though they haven’t seen or spoke to each other in a couple of years now there might still be something there.

rick is what you’d call a mimbo. it doesn’t take much to get him into bed, and pretty much always no strings attached. it’s not that he’s a sex addict, exactly, but it is a great way to pass the time.

one of the first things rick felt like trying out at the hotel was the indoor pool. as a pt he needed to keep himself in top shape, and swimming laps had always been one of his preferred ways to work out on his own time. equipment in the gym was great and all, but moving back and forth through the water gave a much more serene and peaceful way to keep his body pristine. already a few laps into it, he didn’t notice the presence of someone else at poolside at first.

the sun was setting down as veronica finally made herself feel at home in her suite. it took several trips to target and bath & body works to get the right vibe, whatever that was. her expectations were, frankly, quite low as she reserved a room at the love hotel. places similar to this existed in las vegas and they were all… filthy, trashy and filled with the wrong people. the receptionist here was nice. the place, on the outside, looked neat and the faces she saw in the hallways were enjoyable. so far, so good. the only issue was that she remained quiet and reserved the entire time, hiding behind tropical scented candles or pineapple shaped decorations to avoid contacts until she was ready. 

she did not go to this uncanny place only to hide in her room, facing the window and doing the lotus pose. so, nikki layered on some red lipstick as though it would give her a meaning to her vacations and left her room with a different mindset this time. with grace, she pressed on the elevator button and waited for the doors to slide open, so she could discover the rest of the love hotel. “hey, do you want me to hold the door for you?” she asked to the person walking towards the elevator, a grin across her face. 

so staying in a hotel for a whole summer seemed like it could be a change of pace for rick, the building seemed like it was well kept from the outside and inside was even better. he’d been away from los angeles for a couple of years now and this felt a lot like coming home. or as close to it as it got, only time would tell if he’d be here for the long haul or just passing through for a few months. working now at a gym not that far away as a personal trainer, this setting was perfect for him to be able to make up his mind and decide what he wanted to do more long term. with a duffel bag over his shoulder he got the directions from the receptionist downstairs and made his way up to his room. it was nice, clean, everything he could want. but he’d have gone nuts from boredom just sitting alone in there, and from what he’d been told the hotel had lots to do and explore.

deciding to step outside and see for himself he stepped out and into the hallway, heading for the elevator to go back downstairs. hearing a voice call out asking if he wanted them to hold the elevator, he responded with a simple “Sure, thanks!” He couldn’t see a face to match the voice until he got closer down to the elevator, and stepped in to join her. when he came face to face with the woman, his jaw nearly hit the floor. “nikki?”
