The passion of Ricky Ruiz for music began at a very early age. As a child, he use to organize and participate in “variety shows” for his relatives and friends in Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised. . In the decade of the 90’s, he relocated with his family to Miami, where he began to study music and worked for a record label with the goal of becoming familiar with the music industry. Through one of his friends, Ricky met the producer Rudy Perez, who asked him to become part of a musical group that was he was forming at that time. The group was Area 305, in which he became one of the main vocalists. With the group he has gained the heart of thousand of admirers, and the magazine “Teen in Spanish”, in its edition of 2003 July, honored him with the title “El Guapo del Mes”, The handsome of the month. Area 305 music its being heard on most of the Latin markets of the United States, in addition to Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, Venezuela and, by all means, Ricky’s native island, Puerto Rico. The group reached top positions on the charts of Pop Latin Music, and received several nominations to the Grammys, “Premio Lo Nuestro”, and Latin Billboards. Today Ricky Ruiz, along with his band mates Tony Choy and Arbise Gonzalez, form AREA 305 and return with a third album, “Version 2.0”, a desire to produce music of optimal quality and to transmit messages of love, joy and optimism, AREA 305 is outlined like one of the groups of greater international attraction, they are the voice of the youth that promises to bring positive changes to a world that already protests that is time to change
