Who are Ethels favorite & least favorite people in Curse of Strahd that isn't her party?
OH MAN.... Unfortunately it's mostly neutral or negative LMAO....
Her favorite is, ofc, Ireena... I think second would be Vasilka because like... That's just her in an AU LOL even though Vasilka has mixed feelings about Ethel.
She also cares for Ismark, who in this rendition is a 12 year old boy and Ethel loves kids. She feels similarly to all the other kids she knows at the Orphanage too.
Now the much longer list is people she DOESN'T like.
from mild dislike to absolute loathing we have:
Esmerelda. She was mean about Vasilka and seems like she'd call Ethel a clanker.
Vargas. He's blind to everything- including facts that would keep him and his people safe, and she has no respect for his delusion.
Fiona Wachter. She WAS neutral, until she took over the city and decided to use charm magic to control the free will of others. She also thinks her sons are losers.
Izek. She doesn't like OR respect Izek, but Dove does so she almost tolerates him. She doesn't hate him enough to wish being controlled upon him, but she also would GLADLY kick his ass.
The Abbot. She hates the abbot deeply- He plays with life and reminds her too much of Marcus and Gerdan. She plays along with him just long enough to get Vasilka out and away from him, but wants him dead before they finish their work in Barovia.
Strahd. Ethel feels deep loathing towards the countess and her obsession. There is pretty much nothing anyone could say to her to make her like- let alone tolerate- the countess.
UNFORTUNATELY AS YOU CAN SEE.... SHE ISN'T REALLY GOOD AT MAKING FRIENDS OUT HERE LMAO... Every other NPC we've met I'd say she feels generally neutral towards, or doesn't care enough to think about them after the fact.
