Peddler’s Game - Aug22
Played: Twice Lost: 1000g Won: NOTHING
Georgia whined, looking at the peddler. Really? That wasn’t fair! The game had to be rigged!
She glanced to the side and...sure enough, someone had won the rings. Scrunching her nose, Georgia huffed and headed out. Well, she could have fun anyway! A nice night of fun and dancing.

Henry smiled as Georgia spoke, resting his elbow on his knee and positioning himself so he could lean on his hand, fingers curled inwards to a fist.
“Now Darlin’ I’m sure you’d do just fine. You’re pretty good at rememberin’, and hell, even if you do mess up it’ll make the kids laugh! Plus it’ll get easier especially if one of the little sweethearts accidentally calls you Mom. They get so flustered. It’s the cutest~” Henry would often get called ‘Mom’ or ‘Dad’ by the children every so often. He usually took it as a sign he was doing a good job.
I hope so too.” Henry sighed a little as well, “I know more than anyone how lonely it can be.” He looked wistfully out the window nearby. “I’m just glad a lot more of us became more accepting as we all grew up. Lord knows I became a teacher so that the kids would have an easier time accepting others and being accepted.” Life was hard when you were Queer, off the gender spectrum, and albino. Overall, Henry was so glad he had enough money to keep up with his appearance. Striking red eyes tended to scare the kids. Not to mention his poor eyesight..
“Hm?” He looked back at Georgia. “Ah, well, Nothin’ too special. It’s gonna be the weekend soon, yeah? I’m gonna be gradin’ papers. Might see if the kiddies are up to a quick spelling bee for prizes.”
Georgia smiled, shaking her head with a little laugh. “That is definitely adorable. I dunno if I’d wanna be a Mama just yet, but those slip ups are always funny. Just laugh and keep goin’, right?”
She leaned back, clasping her hands behind her back, rocking on her heels. “It can be, but I think ya do a great job,” she commented with a faint smile. “Tryin’ so hard with them, there’s a lot of effort there. It really is amazin’ and...the effort isn’t wasted. Hope ya know that.” She smiled sweetly, tilting her head to the side. “Definitely gonna be a lastin’ impression on the lil ones.”
“Spelling? Ah...maybe. That cold be fun. Food’s always a good motivator. How I got through my school.” She grinned. “A few treats when you got done a certain amount of homework. Positive reinforcement, right?” she laughed. “Have you taken them for field trips yet? Down to the ocean together?”
Locust :)
Locust: What was your favorite book as a child?
Georgia laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her neck. A pink came over her cheeks, spreading quickly to the rest of her face.
“Book? Well, I didn’t read much as a kid, and...it kinda followed me through to now. I ain’t a huge fan of books. Can’t concentrate on them.”

penny4urthought:
“That’s nice!” Penny replied, smiling. She hadn’t really considered getting a pet but the idea wasn’t a bad one. Still, she wouldn’t want Abi to have to take care of her pet for her as with her research, she’s might not have time to care for it.
“I’ll definitely have to consider that.” She told Georgia, nodding knowingly. She sipped at her coffee before speaking again. “Are there other areas of the facility you were wanting to see?” She asked.
“It really is,” Georgia agreed with a warm smile. “If you’d consider it I’d appreciate it, y’know.” She gave her a knowing wink. “Honestly, a companion really can help. Aren’t there studies or somethin’ that show just how good they are? Consider a small pet for the office? You could put the cage along a long filing cabinet. All pets need space, but it might not be so bad...or a small cat! That could work.” She listed off suggestions fairly quickly, her eyes lighting up.
“Other areas?” She tapped her finger on her cheek, thinking. “Possibly, but I wouldn’t wanna do it all in one trip. It would make things go by faster, I think. Too fast. I’d rather leave some things unexplored so I always have somethin’ to come back to.” She looked around. “Ah-I’m sorry. Should I leave you to your work?”

PASSED
smilelikesunshine:
“Nah nah, been keeping on top of drinkin water ‘n stuff. Years of throwing bales a’ hay tends to get you used to it.” He rolled his shoulders, trying to shake off the stiffness. While he was used to doing it daily, it still did take a bit of a toll on him.
“Aaaah. Been looking to hang out with animals more? You’re free to come over for that y’know.” He laughed, “Treat those cows better than I treat myself.”
Mark gestured for her to come with him, “Just hop the fence.”
“Even if you’re used to it, it still doesn’t make it easy,” she commented, rocking back and fort on her heels. “It’s alright to take it slow some days. Especially on hot days. Nobody’s here to judge ya. Just the animals,” she teased with a small laugh.
She nodded, rubbing the back of her neck with a bit of an embarrassed smile. “I always like to ask! Just in case you’re busy or don’t want company. They always look happy, so it’s nice to pet them.”
She waited for Mark to give the go ahead before she hoisted herself up on the fence, then dropped on the other side.
“Poor lil things are probably overheated just like us,” she commented.
@downtofarm
Georgia hummed, checking her watch briefly before she bounced down the trail to the Wright Farm. She had a few things to hand off to him, and she could use her work time to catch up.
“Pete!!” she called loudly, the basket on her arm slipping when she brought her cupped hands to her mouth in an attempt to amplify her already loud voice. “Where are ya! I have a delivery!”
She waited for a total of four and a half seconds (give or take. She counted quickly) before she went to check in one of the coops. She crouched, greeting one of the chickens with a warm smile. “Hello, wonderful~ Ain’t you the cutest lil thing,” she cooed. “I guess your papa ain’t keepin’ a good eye on you, huh?”
albino-black-sheep:
The teacher was about to place his apron on his desk but then hesitated. “Thanks so much!” He hummed for a moment, debating on what to do before putting the apron back on and walking over to Georgia so he could take the gift box from her. “We were having an art lesson. Gotta make sure these kids grow up with all the imagination they need for the future. Y’know?”
Henry’s eyes seemed to shine as he spoke about the kids, he really loved all of the little monsters and had such bright hopes for them.
“Well…” Henry spoke as he walked back over to his desk to place the box of fruit and eggs down. “You eventually learn all their names after the first week or so, then you recognize all their cute little faces.” He made sure the box was in a safe place before turning and sitting upon the desk much like Georgia was. “Honestly I’m kinda glad Wellspring is gettin’ more kids. We used to have a lot less runnin’ around. Do you remember?”
“That sounds like they had fun. You always have your kids bringin’ out cute art.” She smiled. “And I never hear anything negative, so...must be doin’ something right.” She handed the box to him. “Imagination is great. I think they’ll be great. Need imagination when ya live here.”
Georgia tilted her head to the side, thinking back and then nodded. “There’s so many at once, I’d be scared to mess it up. Probably helps to have the name tags too.” She tapped her knee, biting the inside of her cheek. “I think it’ll be great in a few years when they’re older. It might bring even more in.” She smiled. “It was lonely growin’ up,” she admitted. “I mean...small. It’s good there’s more and more. A slow growth is still growth.”
She leaned back, glancing out the window before she gave Henry another smile. “I really hope they grow up well and stay around here. I know a few people waited until they could to leave, but I hope they learn to love it here as much as we do.” She let out a small sigh, shaking her head. “What are the plans for tomorrow? Anythin’ interesting?”
smilelikesunshine:
“Wasn’t aware you weighed seventy pounds.” He chuckled, going ahead to clip the string on the feed, “Didn’t have many plans. Mostly just working and then prob’ly just trying to get cool. Too damn hot if you ask me.”
He hummed, cutting the string with a pocket knife before turning back to Georgia, “Planning on asking me to hang out?”
Mark gave her a dimpled smile, coming back to the fence. The cows were going to be good for the rest of the day, spending most of the time in the shade or the pond. It wasn’t particularly active.
Georgia laughed a little, rubbing the back of her neck. “Well, maybe a lil bit more than seventy. Still, it’s a lot. Dunno how ya do it all the time. Make sure the heat doesn’t hit you too bad. Take some water breaks in the shade. Wouldn’t want to find ya days later passed out.” She kept her voice light, but the concern was still clear.
“Less hang out and more shadow,” she admitted with a sheepish grin. “I just wanted to check out the animals. See how things were goin’. Make sure you weren’t pushing yourself too hard.” Her cheeks flushed pink. “I mean, if it ain’t too strange. Or if you’re too busy I’ll see myself out and bother some other farmer with animals to pet.”
