Tis the Season
As the last of the Summer heat leaves and Autumn settles into the isle, there comes a feeling of nostalgia and comfort. The leaves turning, and crops ready for the harvest, it’s hard not to feel the coziness. And to celebrate the changing of the season, there comes a festival to celebrate!
From the 24th of October to the 31st of October, there will be a festival based in Midtown to celebrate the changing of the seasons that will last well through the Hunter’s Moon! Starting on the 24th there will be games, food and accessories for sale, hay bale rides, corn mazes, and a pumpkin carving contest! And to cap the festivities off, there will be a Halloween Masquerade with blind dates you can sign yourself up for!
Ready your costumes, and prepare to carve jack-o-lanterns, it’s time to indulge in the spooky!

Alice stared at the cards. Her hand twitched, wanting to play again. To prove to herself more than anything that her luck wasn’t that bad. It was a money grab. She knew it, and...still wanted to try.
She took at breath and cocked an eyebrow. Straightening herself up, she shook her head. “No, that’s all. I’m fine, thank you.” She flipped her pigtail over her shoulder and continued on.

Georgia whined, looking at the peddler. Really? That wasn’t fair! The game had to be rigged!
She glanced to the side and...sure enough, someone had won the rings. Scrunching her nose, Georgia huffed and headed out. Well, she could have fun anyway! A nice night of fun and dancing.

As the second wealth card had been drawn, Lyla’s fate was sealed. Riches, maybe, but no love in the near future. She handed over her gold and then it was time to lament the loss. Though she didn’t have anyone to marry, she couldn’t help wanting the ring. So romantic. The perfect thing to gaze at while daydreaming! Of course... If someone else won it, that just meant that they could present it to her. Even more romantic!
It didn’t take long to put the pep back in her step, but she was left wondering if she would ever get the chance to propose to her future wife on the exact same day she was planning on proposing.
The soft lull of the eerie song from the abyss has begun, and it marks the beginning of the Lantern Festival. Time to celebrate! Here’s a couple fun festival-only events that you can participate in from 8/18 to 8/25.
Festival Minigame
During this event, you'll be able to play a minigame to win the rare Blue Feather Ring. Every few festivals, a peddler will come to the event and offer to give you a crystal resin ring with a blue feather inside (from the elusive blue bird of happiness). If you pull two fools from the peddler's tarot deck within three tries, they will declare you're two fools in love and you'll get the ring! If you lose, you owe the peddler 500G. You can play this game twice, and you have a 12.5% chance of winning! Beware, if you get two wealth cards, you'll have to pay them 1000G.
To play the peddler's marriage game, you must enter the following three times into discord or chatzy:
Your Roll on Discord: t!choose Fool Card | Wealth Card | Moon Card | Star Card Your Roll on Chatzy: /choose Fool Card, Wealth Card, Moon Card, Star Card
If you get Wealth Card twice, you owe the peddler 1000G. If you get Fool Card twice, you get the Blue Feather Ring. If you get neither of the above, you owe the peddler 500G.

Upcoming Lantern Festival!
To usher in the fall season, the Lantern Festival will be held on 8/18 to 8/25!
Every year, the locals gather to observe a familiar phenomena; the melodic singing of the abyss. It coincides with the Lantern Festival, so lanterns are launched over the abyss as sounds similar to whale calls emerge from the depths of the unknown. The melody is haunting yet somehow magical and it tends to lull people into a peaceful state.

Why, that’s a shiny key. What are you doing there?
After the earthquake, special keys to the Abyss have been appearing. These keys open doors in the Abyss, so make sure to keep it safe in your inventory. You can sell it (probably for a hefty price, too!) to another, but the ARG would appreciate all keys be given to them to further expeditions.
Keys can now be obtained by playing the following minigames: Foraging and Cave Fishing.
There’s rumors of a third key hidden in the Abyss...to investigate, an expedition may arise. Keep a look out for more announcements!
