friendly reminder for everyone using contained themes ( especially those using basecodes like those by hollywhood and octomoosey )

please make sure that your css for your container is set to position:fixed; !!! i think the default setting in those codes is position:relative;, but even when you code it yourself make sure you use fixed, especially when you use a background with only limited space where the posts are actually readable. why? simply because relative has the container move depending on screen size, and obviously not everyone has the same screen size. try it out resizing your browser window! so please please take that ( and backgrounds that are big enough, that white streak on big screens isn’t too pretty ) into consideration when editing your theme. if you have doubts and want to check what your theme looks like on other screens, this website is extremely useful. just paste your url into that bar thingy and it’ll show you your blog in different screen resolutions.

you all know it’s really not cool to insult a muse to their mun, right ? it’s absolutely fine to dislike that muse on principle, it’s absolutely fine to have your opinions, but when someone chooses to write that muse it’s a clear sign they happen to really like and connect with that character. taking time out of your day to INSULT that muse to them, whether it’s intentionally or you’re plotting or you’re whatever, is fucking rude and fruitless. was your opinion asked for ? – no ? then zip it and keep that shit to yourself. unless that mun specifically asks for your opinion, sitting there and degrading a muse that mun obviously LOVES enough to portray is really annoying and distracting. hating on their muse is not going to change YOUR opinion, and it sure as hell is not going to change theirs, and it’s also more than likely going to make them NOT want to WRITE or have anything to DO with you rp wise. don’t bite yourself in the ass, basically ? not to mention, a lot of muns put a lot of work into cultivating their particular portrayal, so by doing this, whether you mean to or not, you might also be insulting the mun and their work. don’t do this !! it’s not cool and YOU sure as hell wouldn’t like it either.

I’ve seen “NSFR” or not safe for ramadaan used so that’s probably a good way to get everything without using 30 different tags. thank u!!!

I saw something in dragon age tags that really made me 9,000 kinds of uncomfortable. This person ??? made a post just to tell people that “their inquisitors suck & don’t matter”. And that struck a nerve, I really wanted to bitch them out -  but I held my tongue (bc as much as i’m pissed to high heaven, i don’t want to sit in a puddle of drama) and I know I follow many Inquisitors so I just wanted to tell you all:

I appreciate your character! I don’t know if that is enough but i don’t care, I would like people to know that I enjoy the effort they put into this. If your character has dorian as a friend, that’s amazing because dorian doesn’t just need romantic love, he really needs a friend to love and support him. I love the amount of dedication people put into their inquisitors, right down to the personal items they would carry in their main inventory. Not just Inquisitors but Wardens and Hawkes! 

The game gives us a nice chunk of land and tells us we’re farmers. Go out, collect your ingredients and design your farm the way you want to. Do you only want to have veggies or do you want fruit and veggies? Are you going to take care of all the crops or just focus on three specific section. But there’s only so much the game allows us to expand so we use our own creativity to keep that farm from dying and as you take care of it, you can even help it grow and it can become bigger than what it originally started as. And that’s because of love, without your love for your character, they would never reach their highest peek. 

Your Inquisitors, Wardens & Hawkes ALL MATTER regardless of race, gender or class. These three things are not what make a character, it’s all thE LAYERS. LIKE ONIONS. ONIONS HAVE LAYERS. CHARACTERS HAVE LAYERS. 

So, please, keep that flame alive and don’t let anyone make you feel like your character is inadequate BECAUSE THEY’RE NOT.
