Tumblr, I can’t believe I have to write this and I honestly don’t know what to say, I’m just word vomiting...

Tonight, I was walking back from a performance. It was 23:30. My place is about a 6 minute walk from the subway station I get off at. 

Someone tried to follow me home.

Um, I’m still processing, as this is the first time this has happened to me at this grand of a scale. A man in a car turned a corner as I was crossing- he let me cross, but as I cross he yelled at me from his window, “Excellent. What a vision.” I kept walking and brushed off this cat-calling douche. Moments later, his car comes back around the corner...he turned around. He slows down to follow at my walking place and tries to talk to me. I give him a “fuck off” look and keep walking. He turns another corner...and returns right back, turning around again. This time, he comes to a full stop. That’s when I knew I had to call someone. I immediately called my best friend and roommate here. I was yards from my place, so my roomie could watch me from the window to make sure I was safe. The man tried to approach me and get out of the car, but I made it very clear that I was on the phone, telling someone that I was being followed. The man drove away and turned another corner. I didn’t know if he was gone for good or if I had moments again, but I was so close to my place that I could go in. I could barely turn the key of my place I was shaking so much in fear that he could see where I live. I was hyperventilating in the elevator.

Every sound in my apartment and every sound outside is scaring me right now. I’m scared to be by windows. I don’t know if I can sleep tonight.

I don’t know what to do. Send gifs, cute things, advice, whatever.

My wishlist of things to do at Entranced

Entranced is the next hypno con on the calendar, everything is arranged for me to go there, so I’m getting excited.

(all of these wishes are subject to prior negotiation, of course)

Make me flop. I have never been very good at the whole dogalepsy thing, my mind is very busy with making sure I don’t fall, I don’t hurt myself, I don’t look ridiculous. Help me forget all that. Melt me into a mindless ragdoll and play with my limp body.

Sneaky inductions and trying to resist them. Talk to me on thursday or friday to see if I’m comfortable enough to give you blanket consent to do sneaky inductions on me throughout the weekend. I will try to catch you with my “I see what you did there”-look, and I will try to resist. If you want to do this with me, you must be able to handle the profanity I sometimes spew.

A scene where I start out as the seductive hypnodomme but I end up being hypnotised and submissive. This will require some creative roleplay, but it will be the hottest thing ever, for me.

Teach me your inductions. I want to see all the ways you like to hypnotise people, show me how it’s done. Let me watch and learn.

If you really like me, let me hypnotise you. I am a shy hypnotist, but I’m a pretty good storyteller. Give me an idea for a guided fantasy, or a story and let me take you there. I can take you to my entrancing escape room, for example.

What is your experience with hypnosis files? Do you have advice for content creators in terms of content warnings and underserved topics/populations?

My experience with hypnosis files is sporadic at best! I kind of dipped in and out of stuff. As someone who has a very strong preference for play with femme folk, that meant that the majority of the content I could find was crazy mega super FEMDOMME in the style of @femdomyourass​, which is not really my cup of tea.

I’m having a mid-answer moment of inspiration to rundown recording people I ever listened to with some regularity:

- Isabella Valentine. Let’s just get the problematic one out of the way first. Listen, before she went buck-the-fuck transphobic in an epic public meltdown for the ages, she made some really good files that more or less always tranced the ever-loving fuck out of me. Because of her Highly Problematic Nature I’m not going to link to it, but one of the videos she produced provided one of the most genuine whammies of unexpected trance that I ever have had.

- Mistress Cat. SO OLD SCHOOL Y’ALL. Mistress Cat was very active in the old AOL and IRC chatrooms, and was a totally delightful human being. Her files were recorded on an old desktop mic that was super grainy and it didn’t fucking matter a bit. They were so good and she had this thick Texas accent that tore through my skull like a lightning bolt. These were the first recordings I heard, I think, and they dropped me so, so well. She faded into the distance back in the early aughts, though I remember her popping back up on Hypbook once to say she was still on the edges just watching the community. If you’re still there, say hi!

- Lady Ru’etha. Everyone’s least problematic fave. I’ve known @ladyruetha​ for a long damn time, so let’s say that her voice had something of an unfair advantage as she began to make recordings. Her style is just so good. True story: I used one of her recordings as a way to fall asleep on a particularly long flight in which I was desperate for a way to pass out. It may have been the best trance of my life.

- Hypnosis Goddess - I actually got recordings from her vanilla hypnotherapy site because I was *so* not about spending money on kinky shit during this era. But based on the samples posted on her kinky site at least half the recordings weren’t actually different, which is sort of its own mindfuck, right? As someone who is a pretty strong believe in the power of context, this was an interesting lesson. Also, these were the first “professional” recordings I’d ever listened to, and fuck did the production quality ever make a difference. Also, the first recordings I’d heard with snaps/where I really learned to first love snaps.

- Lady Jenifahr - She had this amazing accent. And like, I will trance for an accent in a heartbeat (see Mistress Cat above). It’s very much a thing. And her files were this delightful mix of potent and low-key, which is super rare. I really wish I had saved some of them, but alas - I think they are lost to time.

- Lee Allure. @theleeallure makes such good stuff, and is such good people. I don’t really know what else to add to this.

I listen to files a lot less now - the more experience I have had with real-live hypnosis, the less files generally do for me, though I could listen to the ones made by @ellaenchanting and @rightthewaydown pretty much all the time and be happy.

Okay, so to the content warning thing, this feels like an absolute no-brainer. You should tell the users of a file what the file is going to do if it includes any suggestion work at all. If it doesn’t, just say it brings you down and wakes you up. Just say what it does. It’s not that hard. I think it’s fine to make a file that does things that are undisclosed, but you need to be really super upfront about the fact that the file does *something* and that you’re not going to say what the something is, and that if someone doesn’t want that, then they shouldn’t listen. I think it would also be fine to have what the file does in separate link so if people want to be surprised they can be, but it’s got to be easily available. In some ways, I think an incomplete disclosure is worse than no disclosure, largely because if you say it’s findom and hypnobondage, but don’t mention the humiliation, then someone who has issues with humiliation is going to assume it’s not in there.

“Cookie?” I offered to Dani.

She made a face as she sniffed at the bright pink frosting. “No thanks.”

“They taste good, you know,” I said as I shrugged and took a bite out of it.

“How can you eat that?” She gagged mockingly. “It’s like, pure sugar.”

“Umh? Exactly?” I muffled out as I chewed.

“The cookies don’t even taste that good. I can’t believe you’re on this side of the debate,” she lamented melodramatically. “Literally anything else tastes better.”

“You shut your blasphemous mouth,” I shot back. “Generic grocery store sugar cookies are the best. They’re so soft and–”

“BLAND! They’re so tasteless! So they cover it up with copious frosting!” Dani stuck her tongue out at me. “Wake up, you sheep!”

I sat there quietly, doing my best to keep a poker face. Willing with all my strength to frown slightly without breaking character.

“What?” Dani shoved my arm lightly. “I was just joking.”

No breaking, no breaking, I braced myself. I put on the most serious face I could muster.

“…What is it?” The uneasiness crept into her voice. “You know I was just teasing you, right?”

“That’s exactly it, Dani,” I explained softly. “I think I’ve been a little too lenient on you lately.”

She let out a sigh of relief. “Oh. I thought you were actually mad.”

“Not mad, no. But I think I’ve let you get away with enough these days.”

She rolled her eyes at me. “Har har. You can’t play the scary top card just because I don’t want your tasteless cooki–”

My hand shot out over her mouth and muffled her words, her protests as I pulled her in close, pulling the back of her head to my face as I began whispering in her ear.

“You know there’s no resisting. Brat all you want, but my hand goes over your mouth and you can’t talk. And when you can’t talk, you can’t say what you’re thinking. And if you can’t say what you’re thinking, then there’s no real reason to be thinking.”

Her struggling began to weaken.

“And as long as you’re not thinking, you can feel free to just focus and pay attention to whatever’s around, like my voice in your ears. There’s nothing inside to distract you from it. It’s quite easy to find yourself noticing my words and to just listen.” I blew into her ear lightly as she whimpered.

“Close your eyes. Closed eyes means you can’t see. Silence all your senses and listen to me.” She nodded softly.

“And you’ll just find…that you feel compelled to eat the next cookie I offer to you. And you know that you find it sweet, oh so sweet, too sweet even. So in order to deal with the sweetness, you have to let some of it go. You’re going to let it go by being sweet, you’re going to channel that sweetness and just be sweet for me, okay? Nod for yes.” I nodded her head for her. I repositioned her limp body and lay her against the other side of the couch.

“And…awake!” I snapped my fingers.

Dani’s eyes shot open. “WHAT DID YOU DO.” She scrunched up her face at me.

“Nothing, nothing.” I threw my hands up in innocence. “Cookie?” I offered her a brightly colored sugar cookie.

“No! I just sai–” Her words cut short as she noticed her hand grabbing the cookie. “What. WHAT.”

“Have a cookie!”

Dani winced as she bit into the cookie. You’d think it was actually bringing her pain.

“How is it?”

“Soooo sweet!” She tried to grumble, unable to fight a smile spreading across her face. “Oh my GOSH! What did you DO to me!!” She grinned widely.

“Nothing! Tell me how sweet it is?” I smirked back.

“It’s soo sweet! It’s too sweet!!”

“Aw, I guess you’ll just have to let that sweetness out some other way.” I frowned in mock sympathy.

“Nooo!! I mean yes!!” She giggled. “Stop making me so sweet!”

“Why?”

“I LOVE being sweet!” She scooted closer and closer to me as she leaned against my shoulder and nuzzled me energetically.

“So why would I stop?” I fought back my laughter.

“I – don’t – know!” She breathed out in between kisses that she peppered along my arm, along with happy squeaks and noises.

“Tell you what I can do to help you forget the sweetness. The frosting is sweet, yeah?”

“Yeaahhh…” She cooed in her honey sweet voice as she bit her lip and looked up at me, completely and utterly love-drunk.

“What does the cookie taste like?”

“The cookie…? It tastes blanddd,” she pouted.

“Bland?”

“Bland.”

“Like tasteless.”

“Tasteless…” She murmured.

“Bland.”

“Blaand…”

“Like nothing at all.” I offered.

“Nothing…at…” Her eyes rolled up as she flopped against my shoulder.

“Good girl,” I whispered as I grabbed the half-eaten cookie from her hand. I repositioned her once more on the other side of the couch. I paused for a moment as I thought about…yes, that was pretty fun. Her jaw slack and her mouth slightly ajar, I gently placed the cookie back in her mouth. I scooted over back to my side of the couch, satisfied with my art.

“And…awake!” I snapped my fingers.
