Sweet Cream crochet scarf
For the Lies under the Bridge beanie (my favourite beanie ever), I made a scarf from the leftover yarn.
It is a super easy pattern by Fiber Flux with a one row repeat, all you need is double crochets.
Fairyland yarn is my absolute favourite for anything beanie and scarf (shawl). It has variety, the colours are really beautiful and there are hardly any factory knots in it. Totally recommended.
Lily Blanket
Some time ago, I bought that yarn that turned out not to be as great as I thought it would.
After trying out various things, I started to make the Lily Blanket by Ophelia talks crochet until the yarn runs out. Then I will throw it on the back seat of my car. Not sure how big (or small) it will be in the end, but it can at least be used as a pillow if we fold it up.
I am using a 3.5mm hook, so it takes forever. It is a side project alongside other side projects. The pattern is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You increase the number of DC to the middle of the diamond, then you decrease and increase the one next to it.
Hi , I'm a Spanish teacher and was looking for some resources .
Do you have any suggestions?
Thankyou.
Going to depend on what level of Spanish you're looking for but my go-to resource for everyone who needs the bare bones grammar of any level is www.studyspanish.com/grammar
Spanish Grammar Online: Contents (Enrique Yepes, Bowdoin) is very similar but sometimes has more particular topics
If it's more advanced things and you need specific information:
Hispanoteca
Fundeu
I also recommend Forvo for Spanish pronunciation to hear the differences between Spanish-speaking countries like hearing what LL sounds like in Argentina vs Spain vs Mexico is great
www.wordreference.com is the GOAT especially the forums
And for assorted translation needs I check out ContextoReverso for more everyday Spanish, and Linguee for more formal Spanish
Biblioteca Digital Ciudad Seva – Ciudad Seva - Luis López Nieves is what I sometimes use for reading practice; specifically cuentos which is "short stories" - some are older or public domain, but they are shorter than the actual novels and plays which you could read but it depends on how much time you have
My other favorite resources are wiktionary for etymology purposes, and wikipedia in Spanish for extra reading practice that is more practical and everyday - and some topics have more information in Spanish if they're related to Spanish-speaking countries

Leider brauche ich heute Nacht meinen Schönheitsschlaf, aber ich hoffe, wenn ich morgen früh aufwache, wird 🇧🇪 Belgien die Sache erledigt haben!

Excursion into amigurumi
OK, I got my first (and last) amigurumi project done and it turned out so-so.
The original Lizard Coaster is soooo cute; mine isn't working properly. I suppose my yarn was not thick enough after all. The coaster itself is not as dome-y as it should be, so the cute effect isn't quite there.
Its legs go in all directions and, of course, I had no eyes, so I painted them on with an acrylic paint marker.
I am not a fan of gluing stuff on with a glue gun. Does that happen often with amigurumi? As it is a coaster and not a baby toy, I suppose it is OK.
Meanwhile, I realized that the creator has more animal coasters out, if you are interested:
Turtle coaster
Sid coaster
All that being said, I did learn a lot from this project, especially about what slip stitches can do (the feet!). For me, I think this knowledge can be put to better use with crocheting flowers and such things instead of amigurumi. I am just not feeling it.
Next time I say that I want to crochet anything even remotely resembling Amigurumi, somebody kill me.
I am not a fan of Amigurumi, but got lured into trying it by this tutorial for a stinking cute coaster. Now I am sitting here with a 2.5mm hook (the tutorial even asks for 2mm) stumbling through various body parts. That was the first and last time, I swear!
Haven’t had a chance to watch the tutorial yet, but I’m seriously considering making this for my gf’s niece
I am not a fan of Amigurumi, but this is so cute that I seriously am considering crocheting an animal now.
Update temperature blanket
Update on my temperature blanket. This month I had to use my hottest colour and I had to add an even hotter one; otherwise it would have been too much ruby wine red. I used the apricot leftover from the Tbilisi blanket, because it really stands out (those days were awful. It is not the same yarn and it shows a little, but I have to live with that; I need to use what I have.
I hope we won't have too many days over 35 degrees, because I don't have much apricot left and I certainly won't re-order Stylecraft Special DK.
We had a birthday in June and I added cream in the middle of the row to mark that day. I was especially lucky, because it was a popcorn row.
Tunisian crochet attempt
In this blistering heat, the only thing I can do is small projects. Yesterday I bought this tiny device that you can use to treat insect bites. I needed a keychain for it, and I saw a tutorial on YT by Claudetta Crochet for a pretty lanyard.
I have never done Tunisian crochet before and I really have to find out more. My left side looks very different from the creator's. From the comments, I learned that it is super important where you go into for the last stitch and the video wasn't very clear about it (it was clearly not meant for absolute beginners).
I have a Tunisian crochet hook somewhere. It was a gift that came with a magazine years ago and I have never used it. I must dig it out.
Temperature blanket
In May, I started a temperature blanket as a side quest. It took a long while to settle on the colours (how many, what temperature range, which colours, what yarn), but there is a super helpful website that lets you figure out what your blanket might look like with your chosen colours and everything, based on the weather at your chosen location in the past. How cool is that?
I had to adjust my temperature range slightly, and two days ago I had to use the "hottest" yarn already. I might have to add another yarn for yet a hotter range, otherwise the summer might be ruby wine red nonstop, which sounds extremely dull.
The pattern is the Tudum blanket from Ophelia talks Crochet.
The Yarn is Freya from Svarta Fåret, bought at Eddna

Crocheting garments
Am I the only one who finds crocheting garments boring? I so want to make my own tops, but it is so monotonous and tedious. This top was supposed to get sleeves (more elaborate with shells or something), but by the time I finally got the body done, the thing had been lying around for weeks (for lack of motivation) and I wasn't in the mood anymore. Now it will stay a sleeveless top. I mean, double crochet rounds going on forever with the same yarn to boot? Not for me.
A new adventure with my sewing machine at the Cathedral - an epic stitch with my pedal-powered machine. 🚲🧵 A big thank you to the folk of W
