So I'm thinking that Gia and Ben had to have known each other/started dating before Brooklynn's "death". I just don't see him seeking out a new relationship and letting new people into his life in the midst of his grief and paranoia, so they had to have had an established relationship from before then.

And what really, really excites me about Gia's character is that she's a window into a pocket of time we really haven't seen explored yet. Like, before Brooklynn died and the N5 were thrown into grief and trauma again, they'd been off island over five years. They put in as much work as they could to heal, to adjust, to find passions and meaning. Before they were ripped up by the roots again, they'd built their own lives. And I just want to know a little bit about what that was like for them. With the exception of Darius and Ronnie, we don't see any of the N5 interacting with someone they knew or met during that point in their lives, so I think Gia is just a super exciting character in that regard :)
