Shawn let out a heavy sigh. It would have been nice to just come out with it to someone, especially in a moment where he felt like he was losing control but it was the fear of not knowing what Shiloh was doing or where she was. He had to talk himself down from tipping over and letting everything spill out right then and there because then heâd burden Riley with it. That didnât seem fair, for anyone, hence his silence. Heâd just spiral once he was all alone in his home. âShe went to the building?â Shawn stood up. âShit.â He muttered under his breath shaking his head. âKatherine?â If he already felt like he was losing control before, it had just been magnified by everything Riley said not only from the fact that he felt like she was going to figure it out but if she had been stupid enough to go find the vampire, then she was putting herself in danger if she managed to do it. âSheâs going to get herself killed if thatâs what sheâs doing. Can you track a phone if itâs off? Or her last use of it?â
Riley narrowed his eyes towards him, hoping heâd spit out whatever was cutting him up inside. It was obvious, this went so much deeper than what Shiloh knew, he could see it in Shawnâs eyes, in his body language, he was hiding something, just like she said. Something dark, and if it was too hard to talk about even to a friend like him? Something tragic, too. âYes.â He confirmed, dipping his upper body forward as he rested his hands on his knees. Shiloh could handle herself, but against Katherine? Riley only recently learned of that womans true nature and the wicked things sheâd done. It worried him that she could be purposely putting herself in Katherineâs evil hand. âYeah. I can. Actually, I can do some illegal shit too, to narrow the location down, but...â Making it known there was something he wanted in return, he tilted his head. âI want you to tell me what sheâs putting her life at risk to discover.â That was the only request he had, worded in a way that was still only asking, not demanding. Riley would do what needed to find Shiloh regardless of whether or not Shawn confessed anything. He was just... trying his luck, so to speak. âYou know, they say a burden shared is a burden lifted.â He added. He hated to see his friends suffer, seeing them in their inner turmoil, it wasnât in his nature not to try and help somehow.Â
