Summary: You and Sebastian are left to scout out the circus.
— undercover (adjective) involving secret work within a community or organization, especially for the purposes of police investigation or espionage.
"Are you ready?" The tall frame of the red and yellow striped tents casts an ominous shadow over both you and Sebastian’s beings. The faint glow from the flickering candle lights scattered throughout the grassy fields provides a dim luminescence. You glance at the taller man, taking in his features. Somehow, the yellow-lighting which would always make a regular person look absolutely dreadful, makes Sebastian look more alluring.
[07] | RED.
Summary: You settle into your new role within the Phantomhive Manor.
— deal with the devil (saying/phrase) The term "a pact with the devil" is also used metaphorically to condemn a person or persons perceived as having collaborated with an evil person or regime.
chapter 07
"Demons can make deals with other demons?" Ciel asks as he looks up from his pile of paperwork. Sebastian nods stiffly, eyeing his curious master.

summary: Ciel, [y/n] and Sebastian discuss her future with the Phantomhive’s.
— Tainted (verb) contaminate or pollute (something)
"Well if you are ordered to be by my side I suppose there is nothing I can do.” Ciel shrugs as his eyes flutter close. Sebastian scoffs "My Lord!"
are you still active on here?

sᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ: After [y/n]’s past masters untimely death, she finds herself still serving her lady beyond her grave
— promise (noun) a declaration or assurance that one will do something or that a particular thing will happen.

Black, midnight hair flows down the expanse of your back in long, full strands. Your black tipped fingers run through the silky strands of hair, brushing it out of your eye-line so you can better see your original form.
Hello! are requests open?
yes :)
are you open for requests?
yes :)
for the demon!reader x Sebastian like maybe reader is the ((mysterious)) bodyguard to a nobleman ciel and sebby are investigating and they don’t realize reader is a demon until they confront the noble who tries to use reader to escape?
posted both one and two :)
[sᴄ] 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬
sʏɴᴏᴘsɪs: After being notified by the Queen, Ciel and Sebastian leave to investigate the nobleman who happens to be your master. But, there is one problem. You can't reveal your demonic side
ᴀ/ɴ: reader is a female — mentions of blood and graphic death ig?
“Will they find us here, [y/n]?” Your contract - sorry - master asks frightfully. The whole time you had been escaping the enfuriated demon your masters heart had been beating incredibly fast. To be honest, he was asking to be caught! A beating heart is a demons tracking device for goodness sake!
You hum, hands placed on your hips as you stare at the desolate land you had hid your master on “Most likely”
Your master shrieks “Then we should go elsewhere!” He’s shaking, looking like a scolded child as his eyes well with frightened tears. He’s yelling at you as adrenaline spikes through his body.
“Master” your voice is strict “That man is a demon, he will find us one way or another” It’s the inevitable. Demons are smart, incredibly quick thinking and intelligent creatures. Superior to humans in all forms yet humans shake in their boots when they make foolish contracts all the while knowing the consequences.
The wind whistles by your ears harshly as a blank sky begins to darken above your beings. The blank sky reflects dully against the lapping waves rocking against the grey and dirtied ground made of pebbles and jagged rocks. There’s a small greenery to your left that’s all but alive - and you’re sure if the other demon were to make an appearance he would be hiding within the overgrown strands of grass and trees.
“[y/n], m-maybe we should find somewhere to hide” The man cries shakily, shivering as the relentless whips of air crack against his pale skin. His greying hair blows messily against his face as he stares up at your taller frame. The ends of your dress wave in the violent wind he finds unbearable but you continue to watch your surroundings.
“[y/n]?”
“He’s here” You notify your master as you watch an unusual movement between the trees, grass and dying bushes. There’s a faint flash of black and white as he presumably hides his own master. You don’t care for that child - as much as his soul seems tempting - your here for once reason.
It was your masters time to die.
Blood splatters onto the cracked ground beneath the four beings stranded on the unpopulated island not that far off the shoreline near your ex-masters mansion.
Browning splatters of blood cake and destroy the white fabric of your ripped maid dress due to the hour long dual of demon versus demon. Both demons knew that one wasn’t trying as hard as they could - their master had never ordered them to win the match or specifically save them from the hands of the other supernatural being.
“Why didn’t you try?” The young Phantomhive asks as he dusts the dirt off of his clothing. The demoness stares quietly as she walks over to the beaten and bruised body of her ex master. His blood was pooled around his larger frame, coating the pale skin in a red and brown hue. The metallic smell is strong, filling the noses of both demons who stare at the lifeless body displayed over a sharp rock that had impaled the past-noble through his midsection.
It’s a gruesome scene and not for the faint hearted. Sebastian busies himself with making sure his master is all right and hadn’t been scraped or cut by the flying pieces of debris and limbs from only a few mere minutes ago.
“I suppose we’ll leave you here then” Ciel announces as he clicks his cane against the rock below him. You’re not under a contract anymore and free to do as you please.
But..It feel wrong now.
“i suppose so” You nod, complying with the words of the teenage boy who peers at you below his blue hair. Sebastian stands stiffly beside his master as he looks down at his pocket watch.
“It’s almost time for tea, young lord” Sebastian reminds his master as he begins to walk away, almost disappearing into the green with the young boy before he tossed a look over his shoulder.
His eyes tint an alluring magenta, a silently message between both demons who nod lightly towards each other.
i will find you again

sᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ: [y/n] visits an old friend
— fleeting (adjective) lasting for a very short time
⤷ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 04
Soft footsteps resonate in the night air making your presence known. Your slow, calculated steps radiate an unwavering confidence in your strive.
Your destination is only a few feet in front of you. The sight makes your heart pound with a mixture of dread and excitement.
The familiar, dreary outside of the old, rickety shop would usually scare off most people, but you find a weird comfort in the sight. You’ve spent many hours behind closed doors in the establishment, good and bad.
click, click, click
You raise a gloved fist, knocking at the wooden door to announce your precedes. You’re sure he’s not expecting visitors.
Silence meets your greeting, yet the door clicks open with a painful groan. The outside light shines a beaming spotlight inside, highlighting the creepy interior.
The inside is dimly lit with a few candles scattered about. Your eyes scan the area, ironically finding no sign of life inside the establishment.
"Who may I help at this time of night?" A curious male voice calls out from a dark corner of the room. You smile, bending your neck slightly to see into the darkness of the room.
"Don't you remember me?" You ask teasingly, a seductive red flashing across your irises. He shuffles from his corner, the light slowly showing off his features. His Cheshire grin breaks through the light "It's you my Dearie!" He exclaims excitedly, his arms flailing into the air as he extends for a hug.
A soft smile graces your features as you let out a soft laugh.
"I've missed you!" You greet, falling into the long arms of the long-lost friend. His long, midnight black fingers comb through your locks, causing a shiver to run up your spine as his nails ghost over the skin of your scalp. You relish in the familiar feeling.
"It's been years my Dear, I see you've taken up the occupation of a maid." He scans your outfit from under his long fringe. You nods curtly "Not for much longer, I’m afraid.”
The Undertaker hums, an almost eerie smile spreading on his face as he walks around his shop to lift a ceramic plate from one of the coffins. The plate is stacked with bone shaped biscuits. He happily takes one with an excited chew, offering the platter to yourself.
You shakes your head, putting a polite hand up "I'm much alright."
The Undertaker frowns, setting the plate back onto the ceramic coffin lid.
“Although I request one thing of you, Addie" The Undertaker perks at the sound of his nickname "Please allow me to help with my late masters funeral.”
The day of your late masters funeral came quickly. Days of catching up with your old friend were nice but it lead to a feeling of strange warmth creeping into your chest as you think back on it. Happiness.
What a foul feeling for a demon to feel.
During the planning duration, you had spoke to Ciel and Sebastian who came by every few days to check up on preparations. Everything flew by quickly and thanks to your abnormally fast speed, you pretty much completed the whole thing a few days than what the Undertaker would.
"Don't you think this is a bit too much?" Sebastian asks as he stares at the carriage full of red rose petals. The Undertaker giggles under his mop of hair and brings a sleeve up to cover his mouth.
You stare at the oak doors, waiting to hear the bells from the Chapel.
"Although I'm the opposite of purity, churches sure are beautiful.” You observe the large, white building. It was sleek and tall, elegant. Just right for your Lady. You’re still wearing Anne’s uniform, but the dress had quickly become wrinkled over time. The sight would’ve once bothered you, but due to the circumstance, it doesn’t.
Sebastian scoffs from beside you.
You raise an inquisitive brow at the staring demon.
"Don't tell me your one of 'them' demons." He spits with pure disgust laced in his words.
You huff, crossing your arms across your chest as you look at the demon.
“First of all I am a demoness, Michaelis, and secondly, I do not have fun holding grudges against people for no reason, even if they are angels.”
Sebastian observes the pouting face. He finds it quite funny really, as he believes you look more like an angel in a demon’s clothes.
Your forms were also quite hilarious as Sebastian had taken a form to his masters father, Victor, and you had taken one closest to Anne's sister, Victors wife.
You had copied Rachel's long blonde hair, which fell down your back with impossibly perfect waves similar to a waterfall. You had her lean figure too but because demons and demonesses are meant to appear like beautiful beings - figures of temptations, Sebastian was comfortable in saying you looked a lot more beautiful than Rachel.
Sebastian was so caught up in his staring and pondering that he almost missed the sound of the large doors opening and the Undertaker letting the roses slowly fly in like a herd of butterflies. One of the petals grazed Elizabeth's being, as if it were a gentle kiss from Anne herself.
The scene is beautiful, Madams body laying peacefully in her casket as the colour she had bittersweet memories with encased her for one last time.
"I haven't been to one of my clients funerals in a long time" The Undertaker giggles, watching as the people start to filter out. Many are distressed but others are fine, only tagging along as they had business connection to Madam Red. You watch silently, following the blood kissed rose petals as they flew around the Phantomhive family.
Sebastians master, Ciel Phantomhive was surely an exquisite soul and you quite admire the wait Sebastian is willing to do if he took on a master this young. Your eyes follow his eye patch, wondering what Sebastians mark looked like.
"Excuse me.” Ciel mutters, looking up at your taller figure. You hum, "May I help you?"
Ciel stares quietly for a few minutes "If I may ask, what are you planning to do now?" His fingers tap his cane against the grass gently.
You exhale, crossing your hands over your creased apron. “I suppose you’d like to know since I served your aunt.”
Ciel nods, taking in your familiar features. It’s quite demented really, as the face of his father and mother haunt him daily.
"Perhaps I shall pursue another soul in England?" You ponder, "I'm quite liking the fake elegance of these corrupted citizens.”
Ciel puffs "Very well.”
He takes his leave, ordering his butler to follow along quickly. He spares no extra look towards yourself. You watch along warily, your gaze on the taller butlers back. He must've sensed your gaze as he turns around, a pink glaze swirling in his orbs. His face remains cold but the message sent from the colourful swirls.
Within minutes you’re left alone. The wind tousles with your long strands, but you pay no mind as you stare at the fleeting sun. Your gloved hand slivers towards the pocket of your apron, grasping the golden pocket-watch sat within. Your thumb runs along the ridges, smoothing over Anne’s family initials that are carved into metal casing.
"It's only 4 and the sun decides to say goodbye, how inconsiderate.”

sʏɴᴏᴘsɪs: After being notified by the Queen, Ciel and Sebastian leave to investigate the nobleman who happens to be your master. But, there is one problem. You can't reveal your demonic side
ᴀ/ɴ: reader is a female — should i make a part two?
“[y/n]!” The curt calling of your master rings through your ears, disrupting you from your duties for the nth time that day. At times like this you feel like having a contract with a young child would be less demanding; this man can’t do anything for himself.
From your position on the floor you begin to fold the clothes you had been previously scrubbing. There’s no point in moving due to the pounding footsteps of your master running through the mansions walls, echoing horribly into your own sensitive ears. You adjust your dress as you stand up, brushing off the invisible dirt that’s gathered on the hem of the long black and white dress. It’s quite impractical really, you always end up ripping it when in battle so he’s issued you a shorter one.
Pervert.
“Yes, my Lord?” A sweet smile spreads across your cherry red lips, eyes glittering slightly as you try your best to look like the head maid you aspire to be. If you’re going to live this part of your life as a maid then certainly you should play with the aesthetic.
He huffs heavily as he regains his breath “The Phantomhive boy is visiting and I think the Queen is onto me!” He exclaims, voice quivering as he thinks about what the Queen would do to him if she really found out what he’s done.
A laugh falls from your lips “I’ve seen this event countless times in my life, master” You peer through your lashes at him “Do you really have no faith in me?”
“Good evening, Mr.Phantomhive” Greeting politely as a good maid should do, you hold the door open as you bow slightly to the young Earl “May I take your coat for you?”
Ciel glares as he looks up at you “That is not needed” He glances up at his taller butler, knocking his leg with his cane as some sort of secret code. The butler only nods as he mirrors the polite smile of your face.
“If you follow me I can show you to the dining hall” Your master is sitting nervously at the large dining table, most likely sweating buckets and giving away the fact that he indeed should be investigated. You almost wanted to scream at your masters behaviour. How hard is it to lie?
“Thank you” Sebastian thanks you on behalf of his master, allowing you to walk in front in order to guide them through the large halls.
You know what he is. Sebastian doesn’t hide his true form from being found out by other demonic entities. He walks with confidence - something you admire him for. But surely being secretive would be so much more fun.
Three, sharp and calculated knocks against the wedged open oak door allows it to fall open slightly, announcing your precede merely seconds before you open the door.
“Your guests are here, my Lord” With a poised bow, you motion the Earl to walk to the table with his butler. Your Master is currently introducing himself with a shaky voice. You almost laugh; he’s scared of a child.
The dinner goes as smoothly (besides the last minute prevented spillage of red wine on the white table cloth) as you could have planned. The conversation flows surprisingly well and you master seems to have regained his confidence, talking as if he weren’t a suspect of a mass drug dealage.
But, all good things come to a halt when Ciel’s butler returns. He claimed he had gone back out to the carriage to get a gift that the Earl had purchased for your master for being gracious enough to have him as a guest but you already know what he was doing.
He was finding evidence.
“Thank you for the dinner, Lord Montgomery, but we have to cut the after-party short” The young Phantomhive stands up from the table with a force that shakes the delicate wine glasses, teasingly tipping over. Your hands are folded in front of your stomach, thumb rubbing over the marking carved into the back of your right hand.
It almost glows as your being sparks with excitement. The black lace glove barely covers the marking, not to mention the black pigment of your nail beds.
“We’ll have to..get rid of you now” Ciel hums, hands coming up to his eyepatch to pull it down. A wave of shock covers your body - this demon had marked this child on its eyes? How..How exciting.
Your master quivers in his chair as Sebastian throws the crinkled documents across the large span of the dark oak table. You know he’ll call out to you any minute know - begging for a last minute escape.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t have you touching my master” You decide to interrupt the party before it got too out of hand. Your hand falls on the shaking mans shoulder, nails digging into the fabric of your suit.
“I plan to keep my contract as healthy as I can” An amused smile dances across your lips, enjoying how the Phantomhive boy and butler connects the dots. A comically shocked expression falls across the blue haired boys eye.
“I’m sure you know, Sebastian” A sickeningly sweet laugh falls from your lips “The soul doesn’t taste as nice if the holders body is beaten and bruised” With a flick of your wrist, the table is sent flying at the other party, stunting them with the sudden foul play. Sebastian had barely caught his contract before the table would have done some damage.
“Ta-Ta now!”

summary: Bad things come in three. Death, shinigami and the loss of a contract.
— façade (noun) a deceptive outward appearance
⤷ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 03
The ominous clicking of nearby heels catches the attention of the four figures who are brawling in a dark alleyway. The scent of blood is overpowering, almost encasing every air particle with its metallic smell. The two butlers continue to fight whilst the two humans sat nearby, listening to the footsteps growing closer.
They never speed up, and they never speed down. They keep the same consistent speed and it's almost terrifying.
"Sebastian! Who is this?" Ciel asks his butler. Sebastian grasps the chainsaw between two hands and pushes it away from his body, his head snapping to the right to watch the outline of a figure appearing from the dark. He first notices the striking magenta eyes that watch unwaveringly. He smirks, knowing exactly who is coming his way.
"Someone we know, master." He smirks and takes the time to shove the chainsaw away from him and back at Grell who loses balance and falls back, his death scythe skidding along the rocky floor.
As the footsteps grow closer, Sebastians smirk widens. The figure slowly walks into the dim light of the street lanterns, their stoic expression still present on their face.
"(Y/n)! What age you doing here?" Anne is flabbergasted, clutching her knife close to her body. You take in the sight in front of you.
Ciel is laying on the floor, Sebastians jacket laying over his small frame, Anne stands nearby with a weapon clutched in her hand and what you assume to be Grell's true form lingering in front of Anne.
"A reaper, how interesting.” You hums, glaring at the long red hair that falls around Grell's form.
“I knew you weren’t a butler as you were abysmal. A reaper, however, explains a lot.” You tut at the redhead, watching as your response causes Grell to become aggravated. He is quick to pick up his scythe, swinging the weapon around dangerously in anger.
You swiftly dodged his attack and slide towards your left, coincidentally sliding beside Ciel’s cowering form. For the first time in your life, you’ve seen fear cross the young boys face.
It’s… interesting.
"A maid like you should know better than to cause me trouble!" Grell growls, revving the chainsaw.
You scoff "I did not come to fight, Grell.”
Grell huffs and grasps his scythe, aiming for Sebastian instead. Your eyes flicker between both parties. Despite coming here to better understand why Anne is doing whatever she is doing, you can’t help but feel as if the woman in front of you is not the same woman you made a contract with.
You don’t feel compelled to help her.
"You shouldn't have been born you selfish brat!" Anne cries as she lifts her knife, a murderous look in her eyes.
Your eyes widen. Anne is going to kill her nephew? Her truest beloved nephew that she wanted to adopt? This plot-twist is absolutely divine.
Anne’s soul becomes more ravishing as the seconds pass.
The excitement causes your eyes flutter for a second too long, as your excitement fogs your mind and clarity.
"Sebastian, don't kill her!" Ciel’s tragic scream breaks you from your daydream. Sebastian is just seconds away from laying hands in your precious master. Your tainted soul.
You’re jumping before you realise, and you and Sebastian are intwined almost immediately. Your bodies flatter to the floor as the wind is knocked from your lungs. Sebastian growls, struggling beneath your body and the clutter on the ground which prevents his free range of movement.
"I can't kill him!" Anne suddenly cries.
You falter. Anne is backing out of it? The darkness around her soul disappears and becomes as tasteless as it was before.
You shout, hands scrambling to your ribs as you’re sent flying backwards into scattered pallets of wood. Sebastian had took your moment of distraction to kick you off of his flailing figure.
You groans as strips of wood clatter around you and thwack against your head and arms. You waver due to pain, barely grasping the world around her before the death scythe Grell holds plunges into Anne's chest.
"Lady Red!" You cry, flying from the dust and dirt and towards Grell who had his scythe buried into her body. Your hands wrap around the chainsaw, pulling it from the deep cavity in Anne’s chest. Blood splatters across your face and body, coating you in a deep, thick red.
Your hands scramble to cup Anne’s cheeks. Anne’s tears mix with the red in your hands, creating a watercolour palette of light red and pink hues across her pale cheeks. She whimpers in pain, her body convulsing on the cold cobble floor.
"R-Rachel?" Anne croaks out, her hands shakily coming up to grasp at your face. You smile, eyes closing as you allow her to gaze upon your familiar features.
"It's me, my Lady, don't you remember?" You ask as a tender look flashes within your eyes. Anne breathes shakily "My dear (y/n).."
"You took the form of something similar to my sister.. I remember now" Anne speaks to herself "A kind demon.. I'm grateful.” Anne chokes, blood splattering from her mouth as she lets coughs wrack through her body. Her fingers clumsily tug your blonde strands. You had copied everything down to the shade of Rachel’s hair.
"It was nice to serve you my Lady:" (y/n) hums, your eyes fixated on the life leaving your masters eyes.
"Thank you, (y/n), I hope you enjoy my soul." She thanks you for your 10 years of hard work. It takes you off-guard. You cannot recall the last contract to thank you for your work. Most were too ill or were cowering with fear because you were now due to eat their soul.
“Rest now.” You speak, watching as the colour rapidly leaves Anne’s face. You ignore how the blood from her large wound leaks onto the ground and begins to pool around your knees.
She smiles weakly, turning her head to meet her crouching nephew who had clambered over in your short moment with Anne.
"I love you Ciel, please take care." Ciel nods, placing a hand on his aunts.
Her eyes close, signalling that she has left. You let your hands linger on her skin, feeling the familiar ice cold touch begin to creep in. Perhaps the cool night air was aiding in producing the same sensation, but you hesitantly pull back.
You remove the glove on your left hand. The contract had completely faded, leaving your hand blank. Her soul was ready to consume.
You shuffle, pulling Anne's head into your lap. The blood from your dress begins to soak into her hair, but that would be the morticians problem.
You lower your lips just centimetres before her own and use your thumb to lightly pull her lips apart. A deep red mist transfers between your mouths.
Her soul was red too, everything she suited was always red. Even in death, red was her colour.
"Sebastian, kill Grell." Ciel orders coldly, not baring to watch how you consume his aunts soul. Sebastian seems to hesitate but complies.
You smile, finally feeling full after a decade of waiting.
You caress Anne's head, ignoring how her blood stains the white material of your dress glove.
“Will you throw a funeral?” You ask the young Phantomhive. Ciel watches your crouched form and how you seemingly actually care for his aunt. He knows Sebastian would throw him to the dogs when he was done.
“Of course.” He replies curtly.
You glance at the young Phantomhive “May I come?”
