Re-watching Person of Interest and experiencing a feeling.

Like, what if you were a trained Government killer who left the one person who ever loved you behind to protect her, but ended up leaving her with her killer and she died. You couldn't do anything about her dying, and the Government you left her for also tried to kill you. You've lost everything, you're at your lowest point, you're ready to give up and die alone.

Then a man finds you and gives you everything: A purpose, friendship, a loyal dog, the ability to save people like you couldn't save your love, a home, risks his life for yours, forgives you for your past that you never thought you'd be free from.

You look at him like he's your salvation, because he is. But this isn't a romance, apparently? Ok, sure Jan.

Reflections

You will live to build horrors beyond your comprehension.

They won’t leave me alone. Trust me I tried. They are just so tragic and flawed I just had to make this. I had been planning this for a while, hunting for references, building up a composition and getting the idea I had in my brain just right. 

Made in Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop, each piece taking approximately 20-30 hours. I had fun painting Michael’s gorgeous face, Jim still remains a hefty challenge to render properly but I loved shaping those sharp shadows.

Okay so, I’ve been side-eyeing the Reese painting like crazy recently and I finally pinpointed my dissatisfaction. The values on his face were flat as hell so I fired up SAI and added some darkness on that pretty face.
