The Beatles Anthology (1995)
Can you imagine being John Lennon in 1974, and you’re about to see your ex-best friend/pseudo husband/songwriting partner for the first time in years, plus its a really big moment cause you’re tentatively thinking about working with him again, then the motherfucker shows up looking like this unironically:
“George told me once that I smelt like home. I got all paranoid, you know, thinking I smelt of fish and chip shops or dirty bars or something. But he said no, I just always smelt of home.” — Paul McCartney
“It used to be PaulnGeorge… as one word. They were the kids from the grammar school. That’s how we referred to them. For ages we didn’t even know George really, he was just ‘Paul’s mate’.” — Len Garry
“The papers try and stir things and act like there’s some kind of problem, but at the end of the day, I love him, he’s my mate and that’s all there is to it.” — George Harrison
“Paul and George always ganged up on people. Like Stuart. They could get pretty bitchy.” — John Lennon
“They used to spend all of their spare time together. Even the school holidays.” — Hunter Davis
“George didn’t mind slagging Paul off. But he HATED other people doing it.” — Tom Petty
Paul McCartney & John Lennon - 1967 & 1969
Sometimes Beatles songs are so good that its difficult to remember they were written by such idiots. Eleanor Rigby was written by the same guy who got deported from Hamburg for setting a condom on fire. The duality of man.
Do you ever just think about the fact George, Paul and Ringo all implied they would've been either teachers or something in the medical field or just anything for the matter but John was full on like "lmao no it's either prison or the sugar baby life for me".
yeah yeah yeah it’s them it’s them
nowhere dude

me: ah, yes- serotonin.
Paul and John working on a song together
The Beatles (John, Paul, and Ringo-George had temporarily quit the band) on January 13, 1969 at Twickenham Studios for the Get Back/Let it Be project. Ethan Russell took the photographs.
The full list of songs recorded on this day, including fragments and off-the-cuff, unpublished songs with presumed titles (plus primary composer/best-known performer):
* ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ (two versions)
* Otis Sleep On (Arthur Conley)
* Baby, Come Back (The Equals)
* Build Me Up Buttercup (The Foundations; three versions)
* ‘Dig A Pony’ (two versions)
* ‘Get Back’ (15 versions)
* On The Road Again (Canned Heat)
the beatles had their toxic moments together, but i always think about when ringo was nervous about doing the vocals for With A Little Help From My Friends and how the other three were encouraging him the whole time. they were giving him advice and being so supportive. and when ringo finally hit the high note they all cheered for him. it’s a nice, wholesome beatles moment.
The funniest thing to me is how the Beatles fandom is surviving on absolute CRUMBS of content. Other fandoms get photos or videos like every other day and we freak out when someone finds an interview that’s 5 seconds longer than the one on YouTube everyone knows
