A message from the author

Growing up I have always been able to spend hours at the mall. Here I am all grown up and I still can't get away from that place... I think its actually getting worse as I am getting older. I can be a bit shy at times but would always be able to express my mood through what I was wearing. The times when I lacked confidence within myself I turned to fashion to make me feel beautiful and no one could tell me what to wear. I always get excited when my friends ask me to help them pick out an outfit or come to me with fashion advice. If you didn't learn anything throughout my 27 blogs about different styles of fashion, or my favorite fashion pieces and brand just remember one thing. Fashion is a world of expression and you can be anyone you want to be. I hope you enjoyed just another fashion blog.

Fashion in the 90′s?

This is a picture of my mom when she was 23 years old. As I have gotten older I have realized I am a spitting image of my mom even when it comes to fashion. It seems as many things in the world are advancing but fashion is going back in time. A lot of clothing items that my mom used to wear back in the 90′s seem to be creeping back into my closet. I was never used to the idea of vintage clothing but have gained a lot of respect for certain items and vintage purses that my mom passes down to me. Just because something is old does not mean it is not something that can't be worn or is not in style. I love this outfit my mom is wearing and it is something I would wear today. The high waisted jeans with a white t-shirt is still in style and the chunky gold hoops are right down my alley!

Another pair of NIKES

In my blog I have talked mostly about high heels and have only written about one pair of sneakers. This is very shocking considering I am a sneaker head and have way to many pairs than I need. These are one of my other favorite pairs of sneakers that I have put on my Christmas list for Santa Clause this year. These are called Nike Prestos and have become one of Nikes most comfortable and stylish pair of sneakers to wear. What I like the most about these sneakers is the different types of materials that are shown in the picture. Nike puts a lot of detail into there sneakers and they also put a dent into my bank account. Being a young adult can be challenging as you are always trying to keep up with the latest trends. These have been very popular and if you are looking for Santa to buy you a new pair of sneakers. Ask for the Nike Prestos, you won't regret it!

Another pair of Earrings?

When people are putting together outfits, they don't always realize how important details are. You have the earrings, the necklace, the shoes, the makeup... but what about the nails? I consider nails to be apart of the fashion world. When I get my nails done it makes me feel like I have apart of my life together even if I am really struggling. This is one of my favorite nail colors and 80% of the time I lean towards longer nails painted baby pink. Even though it is Christmas time I still can never stay away from this color and feel like this represents my personality similar to my outfit choices. When I see the Kardashians put together an outfit I notice they always match the outfit to the nails. They never have a nail color that doesn't match with the shoes or even the car they are driving. To some this may seem a bit excessive but to others, nails are simply just another pair of earrings!

My outfit for my brothers award ceremony!

Over Thanksgiving break my younger brother won a prestigious award for the AJGA Junior Rolex Player of the Year. I went to Florida to watch him accept his speech at a formal dinner and was so beyond proud. Not only was I excited to support him but this gave me a reason to dress up which I don't get to do often due to being a tired and exhausted college student. This was one one of my favorite formal dresses and I was so excited to wear it! This high neck velvet midi dress is from Dillards, a department store. As I talked about previously velvet is very sleek and in style. To add a flare to the dress the high neck was covered in diamonds. I paired the dress with a pair of my favorite earrings, hoops of course that were silver and high diamonds on them matching the jewels on the dress. I wore a pair of my favorite black Steve Madden shoes and did a nice smokey eye makeup look. This was one of my favorite looks I have put together so far and Im happy I get to share it with everyone on my fashion blog!

Carli Bybel!

This is one of my favorite beauty/makeup gurus on Youtube Carli Bybel. When i first discovered the beauty world online I was so intrigued by how much I had in common with a lot of these beauty bloggers. I would spend 90% of my time watching girls like Carli put outfits together from the hair to the makeup to the outfit. They would do videos called GET READY WITH ME and I would watch every week! Carli has built such a brand for herself and when it comes to fashion and makeup tips I have a certain level of trust with her more than other beauty bloggers online. Her personality is so bubbly and sweet and she really cares about her viewers. I would always try to copy looks she would put together and I felt I could related to her because of the common features we both have such as squinting, eyebrows, and hair texture.

Knee high Boots

The trends are rolling in and are also renewing as we go into the new year. Throughout this blog I have mentioned pairing a lot of outfits with knee high boots. I always felt I was too short to wear knee-high boots until my mom bought me my first expensive pair of boots two years ago from Steve Madden. The boots were $200 and I wanted to sleep in them. I would always try to change the style of my shoes with whatever outfit I was wearing but for some reason would always end up wearing my black knee high boots. Another staple piece that should be in your closet, these are one of my favorites when the fall season rolls in.

Bella Hadid

In this blog I wanted to step away from fashion for a second and focus on one of my favorite models. Even though this is a fashion blog, I get my ideas from models and other fashion influencers around the world. Bella Hadid is my favorite model and I look to her for style inspiration. Being a Victoria Secret model people are used to seeing her in angel wings but little do they know she side but also has a tom boyish side and has a street style. She knows how to wear a cute dress with a pair of sneakers, or how to rock a pair of baggy jeans with confidence. I admire her being for steering away from the stereotypes of being a model and embracing multiple styles.

Christmas Closet Essentials

With the holidays and Christmas coming up it is that time of the year for your Christmas work party, your first Christmas with a group of friends, your first Christmas when you are finally 21 and can celebrate the right way! But as soon as you look in your closet you realize that you have nothing to wear! What do I wear to a Christmas party? I don't want to wear an ugly Christmas sweater! Well one of my favorite holiday party dresses that have been in style the past 2 years are velvet party dresses like this one from Windsor in the picture above. Velvet dresses are not only festive for the holiday season but they look very classy and flattering on anyone! This is an essential to have in your closet for the holidays and even for New Years. I would wear this dress with a pair of cute stockings underneath or a pair of thigh high boots!

Classy and Sassy

What is on my Christmas list this year? These beautiful pumps from Steve Madden, one of my favorite shoe companies that sell affordable shoes that are quality. When I saw these shoes it was immediately love at first site. I could imagine all the different ways I could style these shoes and knew I had to order them right away. The silver diamonds makes for a very festive shoe for the holidays that you can wear with jeans, a dress, and even a cute pair of sweatpants or leggings during Christmas time or New Years. I do not own many pairs of heels but as I am becoming older, I am more interested in purchasing heels and I am getting more comfortable walking around in them. Not only do they make me feel very CLASSY but the also allow me to be me which is SASSY.

H&M and Moshchino

H&M is amongst the most popular brand for clothing from accessories, bags and footwear. Their shirts and sweaters are made with organic cotton making it skin friendly. Currently theres a sale for our men’s and women’s fall line 2018 from Dec 10 - Dec 16. 30% off all full price items. H&M is one of my top stores that I buy clothes from because they are very hip to todays style and they sell clothing at a decent price. Being in college sometimes you have to be smart and budget your money. Not only are they bank friendly but they are famous worldwide and have partnered with high end brands such as Moschino. This brings in a lot of costumers and revenue for H&M as a brand. They also sell a variety of styles from office wear to swimsuits. My favorite thing to purchase is the sweat pants and hoodies because they are comfortable and they are good quality. They sell these year round and are very popular amongst the younger generation.

Fur Season

Sometimes its hard to stay warm and stay fashionable at the same time. Fur sweaters are my favorite this time of the year and not only are they warm but they are stylish as well. Fur sweaters and jackets have been a staple item in the fashion industry and in my closet. They look like they are pricy but you can find fur sweaters at pretty much any store such as Forever 21 or H&M. You can wear a fur sweater with heels or even with sneakers and a pair of jeans. I like how the model in this photo parked her fur sweater with a pair of leather pants. This is a very stylish look that screams out NYC in my eyes. I think every girl needs a fur sweater in there lives and in there closet.

Zendaya is the representation of freedom of expression. She is very outgoing and serves so many different looks that represent her personality which is bubbly ,outgoing, and confident. She always has a different hairstyle to compliment her outfits and is a positive influence to young girls in the community. Her style is very vibrant but she always encourages natural beauty. She believes that you do not need makeup in order to be beautiful. I compare a lot of her outfit ideas to Rihanna, as they have a certain theme when it comes to clothing and putting together a look. I would love to go shopping or raid Zeyndayas closet one day.

Nike and Adidas

Two of my favorite brands happen to be enemies and competitors to one another. Nike and Adidas have taken over the clothing industry and I love both of these brands. They have both developed a culture and have built loyalty between them and their costumers. I have been able to style both of these brands on my own way. I enjoy using some items and pairing it with jeans and making it more street style, or I will put together a gym outfit. Another way these two brands are so popular is because they collaborate with celebrities and that brings them attention. The branding of these companies have been amazing to study in my time as a communication major.

Ethnic Clothing

Above is a picture of my family and I at my sisters wedding dressed up to celebrate her big day! Indian weddings are phenomenal and they are the best way to celebrate love and happiness. The most astonishing part about Indian weddings are the clothing and the dresses worn called Saris. They are beautiful two piece outfits thats are custom and hand made in India along with the jewelry and hair pieces. Even though they dress can be heavy when the bride puts on her outfit it makes her feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. My sister decided to have a gold and teal themed wedding and thats what inspired the color of her Sari. Not only is the outfit a staple piece but the makeup and hair is also a very important part of the outfit. No matter what dress I step in, and Indian dress always makes me feel so beautiful and amazing.

Everyday Earrings!

Hoop earrings have been a staple in my jewelry collection since I discovered them. In fact I wear hoop earrings everyday with every outfit. I have different size hoops, and have gold, silver, and rose gold hoops as well! We all have those days where we take a look in the mirror and we just don't feel like we look the best or we just need some confidence in our lives. We also have those days where we don't feel like putting on makeup. I have discovered that the no makeup look with hoops has saved my life! Adding a pair of hoops to a natural face with a little lipgloss is a trending look in the younger generation. I love my gold hoop earrings and they just add so much sass and I feel more put together with my hoop earrings on and I think everyone should have a pair of hoops in there jewelry collection. Another one of my favorite looks is wearing an updo hairstyle like a bun with hoop earrings. This is my signature look and I can not see myself getting rid of it. So if you don't own a pair of hoops I suggest getting some, they will be a life changer.

Its out with the OLD and in with the NEW

Being a college student can be very difficult financially. And being a shopping addict learning how to save money is also a difficult task. Not only are you needing to save money for food, gas and living essentials but we all have that one time we go to the mall and we are so tempted to buy something but know its probably not in the best interest of our bank account. I figured out the best way to get new clothes is to trade in your old clothes for cash. Thrift stores or online websites like Postmark is a great way to get rid of old clothes in order to be able to buy new ones. I know this process may seem like a lot of work but I have realized that I am able to get rid of clothes that aren't in style, or that don't fit me anymore and I can buy that new pair of boots I saw at the mall now. I promise that this process will stay with you past college and you will be using it with your kids and trading in clothes for them as well! So remember, its OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW !
