BAAD Exhibit: “I said what I said”
Reception Apr 3, 7pm, DC 103
We said what we said. As in, it does not bear repeating. As in, it will not be negotiated. As in, we are not here to make you comfortable. We are here and Black and brilliant and will not respond to demands to dim the fullness with which we exist in this world. “I said what I said” is RISD Black Artists and Designers second annual group show featuring work from Black RISD students. The works in this show work within a lineage of Black art that understands its own brilliance, shine, innovation, intellect, strength, and generosity without having to temper the volume, tone, or weight of its feelings for an unempathetic gaze.
Exhibition runs from March 23 until April 5th with a closing celebration and performance on Wednesday, April 3rd from 7 to 9pm in the GD Commons, DC 103. All welcome.
