"Please, you sit. Allow me." He steps closer to the table, knees bent as he seats himself across his elder. His hand is mostly healed. Mirai works wonders, really. He reaches for the pot, the handle grasped - the kettle lifted as he pours first for Yamamoto and then for himself. Steam rises up and he can't help but feel the slightest bit smug. He had impressed even himself, truthfully. Putting a child to time out had proved easier than anticipated. " - Already you've been burdened today."

     as usual, yamamoto is quiet--watching the former captain move fluently and quickly, and before long, the head captain reaches for his own tea cup, warm within his hands. the texture of the cups were thin and frail--a gift given to him a long while ago. 

he grunts beneath his breath when mumei speaks, head tilted downward towards his steaming drink, “it doesn’t bother me,” he’s accustomed to worst--fighting among the gotei thirteen wasn’t anything new, but it was certainly something mumei hadn’t ever allowed, “it’s been a long time, since you’ve had to put others in their place. i hope it didn’t drain you,” of course, the captain commander knows better, but underneath his toneless voice, there is teasing; sarcasm, something familiar.

     peace has been bestowed once again. yamamoto looks up, only for a second to see that mumei has returned. his appearance looks unbothered, the captain commander is quick to notice the small cut on the other’s hand, but it’s nothing to worry over. it would’ve been a shame if kenpachi hadn’t landed a hit, in the end. 

     “two minutes. i’m impressed,” his voice is toneless, it holds not admiration or inflection, it does not have to, “please sit. i was just about to pour tea.”

"Only as you see fit." He agrees, head lifted when he deems it appropriate. It's a shame, really - a man in retirement must keep the peace. Do other captains not respect their Commander as they should? They're all /children/. It's the only excuse he will give them. "It'll be over before it begins."

     he does not have to say anything, words are not needed when it comes to the two of them. he keeps his hands rested upon his staff, gaze locked forward. yamamoto will never have a trace of doubt when it comes to the former captain, there’s no point in having any--with EVERY command he gives, mumei delivers without hesitance or argument. 

    “do not disappoint, then,” the captain commander keeps his voice low, “you have three minutes.”

sir, please, don't waste your breath on these children. i'll deal with them.

     he’s right, wasting his breath on things like this weren’t important. he does not have the time or patience, attempting to keep the peace between two well-known and violent beings would only prove to be pointless. he glances to his side slightly, finding Mumei there, standing alongside him and with head bowed in offer. 

“do what you please,” he says, voice rough and low--underneath the acceptance, there is ORDER, no way of backing out his offer. he expects NOTHING but the best from him.
