JUST IMAGINE HOW PISSED I WAS BACK IN 2013/2014 KNOWING HOW POPULAR THESE KINDA FICS WERE

"I-I hate you," You murmured. As much as you hated him, you still wanted him to fuck you. And that made you hate him even more.
"Good," He whispered back. His mouth was on your neck again, incisors sinking into your skin.

"Good morning."
And with that, you were already off to a bad one.
Grumbling, you rolled over and buried your face under the pillow. Sukuna poked you in the ribs with an annoyed grunt, ignoring the way you were still pretending he didn't exist.
It wasn't a fucking hint. It was a bright red flashing sign that you didn't want to speak to him.
"Get up," Sukuna grumbled.
"No," You snapped back at him.
"I know you're hungry," He huffed at you, a hand tugging at the comforter you had wrapped around you. Your stomach betrayed you, making a noise you hoped he didn't hear, but judging by the little knowing click of his tongue, he definitely had.
"Nuh-uh," You argued anyway, turning away from him again.
"I made your favorite," He added with a soft scoff. "At least come eat it, alright?"
You stopped squirming. Paused long enough to think about how long it'd been since he cooked you something. You'd been surviving on microwave and takeout meals back home without him - and most of the food here had been shit so far.
Maybe you didn't miss him. But you missed his food.
Your stomach rumbled again. Shit. You sat up, rubbing the exhaustion from your eyes and glancing over to where your former boyfriend was standing by your bed. A warm plate in his hand. His face set in a firm frown, a deep crease between his brows as his eyes scanned over you.
"Fine," You yawned. "But only if you stay ten feet away from me."
"One conversation," Sukuna simply said. His voice was gravelly, exhaling hard as his eyes seared through you. "A real one. No bullshit, okay? Just hear me out."
You couldn't hold his stare, glancing down at the rings he was still wearing. One of them was a gift you'd given him years ago. A stupid promise ring. It hurt that he was wearing it. Another knife in your heart at the thought he'd kept it - but not any of his other promises. Your gaze shifted, but the tattoo was still there, your name in cursive and looking at you almost accusingly.
"I'll think about it," You mumbled, holding out your hand to take the plate from him.
He didn't want to hand it over.
You could see it in his eyes - the way he looked at you. Sukuna wasn't sentimental. Not in the way you were. But maybe it was nostalgia there. Imagining what your mornings had been a year ago, back when he would just throw you over his shoulder to get you out of bed and toss you onto the couch, grunting about crumbs but still bringing you breakfast anyway. Limbs always ending up tangled together on the cushions, sneaking food off each other's plates and watching terrible tv shows just so he could make fun of them.
And now you were both starring in one - all because he couldn't keep his cock in his pants.
He passed you the plate, lips parting as he soberly started again.
"I missed you," Sukuna grumbled.
He might as well have told you he loved you.
You didn't say anything. Just watched him go - his back turning away from you and heading out the door to the bedroom. A few other sets of eyes were following yours, set on the embarrassingly intimate scene. Suguru was glaring at the now-empty doorframe, pulling on a t-shirt.
Gojo wasn't there though.
His bed was empty - and Shoko was currently curled up next to Utahime in her bed instead, half-awake and watching you through a sleepy stare.
You took a bite out of the food, and even though it was still good - better actually - than you remembered, you were frowning.
You glanced out the window, the curtains raised to let in the morning light in and let you look through. Nanami was stretched across a lounge chair, the rising sun reflecting pretty rays across his blond hair, wearing a thick pair of shades to block it out. But his mouth was pressed in a thin annoyed line and after only a second of scanning you saw Gojo out there, bathing suit once again dipping so low on his hips it might need to be fucking censored if it aired. He was drinking a protein shake, standing out by the pool, head tilted out towards the sky, the streaks of pink still staining the sky as it shifted into a light blue.
It still wasn't as pretty as his eyes.
"Hey."
Suguru's voice startled you enough that you almost tipped the plate, but his hand was there in time to steady it. Supporting the other end as he sat on the edge of your bed. You couldn't help but stare for a second, trying to decide what to say - or what it was that he came to add.
But then he plucked the mic pack off the nightstand, wordlessly gesturing for you to turn so he could help put it on you.
You let him. Didn't think too hard about his fingers grazing against the fabric of your shirt - so close and still far enough to convince yourself there was no meaning behind it. And if there was no meaning behind it, you wouldn't have to think about any feelings between him or his best friend that might be sprouting inside you.
"Sleep okay?" He asked it casually, as if you were friends. Like this was normal. Natural. Like he hadn't given you a movie-worthy kiss last night before everything went to shit. .
"Well, I kinda woke up in a nightmare," You mumbled, looking back to where he'd been scowling early. Where Sukuna had left. You half-expected him to be standing there again, arms folded and leaning against the frame with an annoyed expression, ready to growl or grunt some snarky comeback at you.
Suguru laughed, reaching over to snag a bite of the food with his fingers.
"Fair enough," He shrugged, popping it in his mouth.
"What about you?" You asked, nodding back in the direction of his bed. Manami was still asleep, curled up on her side with the blankets wrapped around her. You could begrudgingly admit she was gorgeous even bare-faced, watching the steady rise-and-fall of her chest, long lashes fluttering.
You wouldn't blame Suguru if he did end up choosing her some day.
"Think she's set her sights on someone else," He commented, and you could see the hint of a smug smile when he briefly looked over his shoulder to where Naoya and Yuki had finally slept in the same bed together. Albeit with a pillow wall in the middle separating them.
You numbly nodded, not sure how to fill the drawn-out lull in the conversation. It wasn't a skill you had.
Never were the kind of girl to soothe things over. Didn't have the soft silk touch of someone who could delicately stitch together a sensitive situation into something not-shitty. You were a bitch. Abrasive and blunt and awkward half the time.
You used to wonder if that was why Sukuna cheated.
If you hadn't been enough for him. If she was different. Maybe talked to him sweeter, kissed him longer, didn't pick fights when he forgot to wash the dishes or do the laundry.
"Everyone was worried you were going to leave last night," Suguru spoke under his breath, scooting over closer. You blinked at him, not comprehending. Well, you did comprehend, but you just couldn't wrap your brain around it.
Why would they care?
"I mean, it wouldn't make much of a difference if I did," You muttered, taking a smaller bite of your food, strangely queasy as you tried to force it down your throat.
"Are you thinking about it?" He asked, brows furrowed and surprisingly serious as he reached out to touch your arm. Reassuring, you supposed. If you were being honest, you would say yeah, you were thinking about it. Imagining thousands of people watching you bicker with your ex-boyfriend and knowing all the intimate details of your relationship was never something you planned on or remotely conceived of happening.
"Are you going to tell me to talk to the therapist?" You pouted. There was one on-site, always available in case someone snapped and had a nervous breakdown or just needed to talk to the sort of fully same and normal person that would not sign themselves up to be filmed constantly for reality tv.
He chuckled and shook his head no.
"Not unless you want me to," Suguru murmured, warm eyes flickering down to where your lips were wrapped around a fork.
You didn't know what you wanted.
If you'd save yourself the humiliation and heartache by leaving. Or if Sukuna would just follow you again and end up sitting next to you on the same flight home.
"I don't know," You admitted with a sigh, shoulders slumping as you readjusted in bed. Maybe just the tiniest bit closer to Suguru.
"Stay," He spoke softly, low enough that even where Shoko and Utahime were dozing off next to you wouldn't hear.
"Suguru," You breathed his name, tilting your head to the side, wondering if this was something selfish or selfless.
It was hard to believe a guy that looked like he'd break your heart before the summer was over.
"Forget about him," He continued, like he wasn't literally also stealing the food Sukuna cooked off your plate. "Have fun with us."
"Who are you asking me to stay for?" You asked, hesitating over what answer you wanted to hear.
"I want you to stay." One corner of his curled up watching you consider it. His affection was easier to accept, more rooted in a reality you could understand. Suguru was direct, didn't sugarcoat anything even if he was smoother than Gojo. He didn't try to convince you he wanted a wife.
You could tell Suguru was here for the drinks and the chance to fuck a few hot girls. That his interest in you could lead to a relationship - but that there wouldn't be any pressure in it either way.
With Gojo?
It was like being thrown in neck-deep water and forgetting how to swim. Sure, the water was nice, the waves warmed your skin and mended the cuts that had been carved into them over the past year. But you were constantly aware of how close you were to drowning in him.
"Okay," You exhaled. "I'll stay. For today at least."
You were too busy looking down at the food, imagining the hands that had made them to pay attention when Suguru leaned over and gently grazed his lips against your forehead. A peck. Barely a kiss.
But still one.
You glanced up in surprise, but before you could say anything, you noticed Yuki sitting up on her side of the bed, watching the two of you together with a lazy smile.
"I'll see you outside," He muttered, reaching out to rub your shoulder too, squeezing it softly.
Satoru, Suguru, Sukuna. Maybe you should try to change it up a bit and talk to Nanami. As if another contender wouldn't just confuse you more.
You stomached the rest of the food, unable to even enjoy the taste when your mind has pretty much evacuated to another planet.
Everyone else had started to stir, talking between each other while they got ready. You ended up readjusting the mic pack at least twenty times after you changed into a bikini, fixing the strap of the top while you frowned at your reflection in the mirror like it was some imposter that shouldn't be there.
"So," Yuki drawled, leaning down to put her chin on your shoulder and tossing her arms around you. "Geto? Or Gojo?"
You blushed, an embarrassing amount of heat rising to your face but she wasn't quite done.
"Or Sukuna?"
"I think I'd take Naoya over him," You sighed, scrunching your nose in disgust.
"Ew," She laughed, only removing herself to hook an arm around your elbow and drag you over to the door.
You let her. Too tired of fighting against the current dragging you down into the depths of ridiculous drama here.
You saw Gojo first when you stepped outside, his eyes lighting up with surprise for a second, but he hesitated to walk over. Foot frozen in the same spot.
Maybe Sukuna being here was too much.
"Can we talk now?" A familiar palm encircled your wrist, not pulling on you, but to let you know he was there. He was trying to sound soft. But the gravel was always there, always rough in his delivery, even when he wasn't annoyed.
And when you caught a glimpse of him over your shoulder, literally glaring at Gojo watching you, it was safe to say he was in fact, fucking irritated.
"Can you wait?" Yuki pulled you closer to her, her hip bumping into you as she purred and smiled, pretty teeth in display before she yanked you away from him.
You started to smile too, stifled a giggle, but then Gojo spoke up, calling out to everyone, and you could feel your face fall. Feel the hope crumble.
"Hey, guys, I got a text," He shouted.
It wouldn't be good.
Couldn't be.
Not when you ended up listening half-squished between Yuki and Sukuna.
"Due to the last night's challenge getting interrupted," Gojo paused, and all the eyes were on you. Not accusatory, but they all knew what that meant. Whatever came next, was on you - even if you blamed it on Sukuna.
Once again, you pissed off production.
You felt sick watching him read out the next part of the text, disgust curdling in your stomach at whatever new humiliation was coming.
"It's time for the next challenge."

“You only introduced us after the Uchiha returned,” she pressed. “You expect us not to wonder what else she’s hiding? What you’re hiding?”
“I wasn’t hiding him,” Gaara said at last, his voice rough as gravel from the forcibly suppressed rage. “I didn’t know.”
Kankuro blinked. “You’re saying she kept him from you too?”
A single nod.
“And you’re… fine with that?” Temari asked, incredulous.
“No. But I understand it.”
Temari’s jaw clenched as her frustration mounted. “She raised a warlock in secret, and you’re understanding? You armed him with a talisman we buried in the depths of Suna—"
Gaara’s gaze sharpened. “She protected him as any mother would.”
“Don’t romanticise this,” Temari snapped. “You know exactly why we entombed that thing. Why we agreed she should rest. It wasn’t just sentiment—it was strategy. That talisman carries the last remnants of her magic, Gaara. Her soul. And Yashamaru’s. You remember what became of him, right?”
