Leslie smiled widely at the other man. "Yes! Isn't that exciting?" He chuckled softly. "I hope you're proud of me... I did learn from best!" Leslie glanced at his mentor with pure admiration in his eyes.
Leslie’s admiration didn’t go unnoticed. “Of course I’m proud of you son,” His eye twitches at the familial word. Eugene still isn’t coping well with his trauma, but he’s come a long way. “Say, you meet anyone special? Sit down, I’ll have Jamie fix us up a couple o’ drinks!” God, Leslie’s smile and great progress makes Eugene feel proud of his own work, too.
“Listenin’ to an old motherfucker like me! You’re on a good path Leslie, those other cunts will never hold a candle-” From the other room, “Jamie” softly scolds Eugene. She reminds him to refrain from using such dirty language.
Leslie laughed hearing Jamie call out while he took a seat next to Eugene. He ran a hand through his hair before answering the previous question. “Depends on how you look at it… No I don’t have anyone to go on silly dates with buuut, I found a girl that is perfect for me. Her name is Taylor, and I believe she is the best match for me. I want her to be the one that finally kills me.”
The man stopped himself before he got excited and went off on a tangent about his potential ‘final girl’. “Say Eugene… How has everything been between you and the misses?”
Feeling playful, Eugene flares in the direction of the voice. “Taylor, eh?” He nudges Leslie with a knowing smirk. It’s hard to hold yourself back from talking about your final person. Like love at first sight, you’re obsessed right off the bat. Coincidentally, they’re obsessed with you too! For totally different reasons like trauma, but that doesn’t matter.
Jamie enters the room holding three red cups of hard apple cider. She’s wearing black slacks and a yellow V-neck. The cross around her necklace clanks against the glass coffee table as she sets the drinks down on faded Christmas coasters.
“Everything is perfect.” Eugene sighs, clearly still chock-full of love for J. She saunters over and plants a kiss on his forehead, leaving a muted pink lipstick stain. He looks up at her with hopeful eyes as she combs through his messy hair. “Jessy.” The man whispers, not used to their new names yet. Jamie mouths “Billy” back to him.
Focusing his attention back to his chipper apprentice, Eugene pries for more information. It’s like a proud father hearing about his son’s first crush. “C'mon, what’s she look like?!”
Leslie smiled warmly watching the couple in front of him. Those two were probably the closest thing he had to parental figures, so it brought him joy to see them doing well. He reached out and took a long sip of his drink before answering Eugene, wiping the corners of his mouth with his sleep as he did so. “Well... I think she’s very pretty. Long blonde hair and bangs. You can look at her and tell she’s more of an introverted person.” Leslie looks around, trying to think of how to describe her more. “She’s a reporter too, that’s how I started contacting her. She wants to interview me and follow me around for a while... Oh! And... She’s a virgin.” He lowered his voice to a whisper saying that last part, which was followed by a chuckle. “I can’t wait for her to try and kill me.”
