He smiled softly at her words before reaching over to tweak her nose. “You’re my little bow wielding minion. You’ll just have to accept it. It’s just a fact of life Katie Kate.” He dropped his arm with a contented sigh. “And yes I am a futzing asshole.”
“Well… if you are going to admit to that, I guess I can admit to being a minion.” Kate laughed as she lightly smacked his arm. She pulled away from him so she could reach the bottle he had taken away from her so she could have another sip. “Want some?”
“Glad to see you can be reasonable.” He cracked an eye again to see her. “Hm… I’ll take a bit more. But you might want to think about going a bit slower. If not it’ll be a hell of a morning for you.”
“I’m already going to have a hell of a morning so what does it matter at this point?” She went to give him the bottle again, but pulled back. “You’re not going to try to put it out of my reach again, right?”
Clint opened both eyes now and reached over her to put his hand on the bottle. “Maybe. But not just yet. I’m not going to watch you drink yourself sick.” He pulled it toward himself but not out of her hands. “I’m not good a baby sitting sick kids.”
“I’m not a kid, jeez. You can’t think just because someone is younger than you that they’re a kid. Otherwise everyone would be a kid to you.” Kate teased as she rolled her eyes.
“Everyone is a kid. It’s just a phrase, Kate.” He nudged her with his elbow. Clint took a swig from the bottle before letting her have it. “Do what you want but just know I will not hold back any I told you so’s.”
“I wouldn’t expect you to.” Kate chuckled softly as she relaxed against him once again, wrapping her arms around his. “Well you’re definitely a kid too then. If anything… you’re more of a kid than I am. Everyone knows I’m definitely the mature Hawkeye.”
“Says the one who is currently trying to get shit-faced. You’re very mature,” he chuckled. Clint closed his eyes once more and leaned his head back against the couch again. “I am definitely a man-child. But that doesn’t mean you’re not less mature.”
“This is a once in a blue moon kind of thing though.” She grumbled as she lightly nudged him. “Let’s just agree to disagree, because once again, we would be trapped in yet another unending circle otherwise.”
“Very well But eventually one of us is going to have admit to being wrong.” Clint’s breath transitioned to longer and deeper as he began to slip into sleep. j
