the way ichiban repeatedly and constantly puts himself down and conceptualizes himself as a lesser btw. literally calling himself the shadow to aoki's light. wholly willing to refer to himself as valueless garbage. a dog viewing himself through the lense of how loyal he can be, his worth shaped through how useful he can be. his history in the yakuza being situationally a point of pride while also being constant definitive proof that he is less to everyone surrounding him, and shouldn't aspire to be a full person, have too much ambition of his own, or too many personal goals that don't revolve around making up for whatever he's done or doing good for everyone else. quite possibly the nicest silliest goober to come out of kamurocho and tojo and yet he too has fully internalized a position as a disposable animal
