Biography -
Christina Victoria Hamilton— “Chrissy or Rissa” to most, was born on December 3, 2003. At 23, has the kind of energy that makes people trust her instantly. By all outward appearances, she's the quintessential girl next door: a college cheerleader with a warm smile and a way that makes everyone feel seen.
During the first 6 years of her life, Chrissy was primarily raised by her mother, Andrea. Her father, Christian, had been missing for years during his last tour in the military, with the worst-case scenario being accepted as fact. He had never even known Andrea was pregnant. This left Chrissy growing up alongside her mother who was still finding her own was as well. It was more than just a mother-daughter relationship, they were best friends. The two were always together – late-night talks, shared routines and inside jokes that no one else could quite understand. Andrea shields the girl from as much of the evil in the world as possible. Even though her childhood wasn’t “traumatic” in the traditional sense, the uncertainty of Christian’s demise shaped them both. It was them against the world.
When her father returned, it was shock to both Andrea and Chrissy. At six though, Chrissy had a difficult time as the foundation of everything she had known began to shift. Both her parents did their best to take things slow for her sake, but it was a lot of the young girl t grasp. Chrissy initially was standoffish to Christian, only knowing him from the stories her mother had told her. As time continued, the distance between her and her father began to close until the three of them formed a bond that felt whole.
An only child for over a decade, Chrissy was treated like a princess. For some it may have created a person who was spoiled and self-centered, but for Chrissy, it gave her a sense of security and stability. As time went on, she grew more compassionate and emotionally intuitive. She remembered the list details about things and was a glass half full type of person.
After 13 years of being an only child, Chrissy found out she would be becoming a big sister. She was thrilled and eager. She always wanted to be involved and even helped set up the nursery. It wasn’t until Jamie was born though that she felt something new, jealousy. While she loved her brother, she hated having to share the attention of her parents. Chrissy was never cruel, nor did she act out but she got quiet, she hugged a little tighter and lingers a little longer during one-on-one time. Even at 23, she still chooses family movie nights over parties more often than not. The same feeling resurfaced when her sister was born. Even though she loved her little sister, it was a reminder that time kept moving, whether she wanted to or not.
As a teenager, Chrissy was everything people expected her to be. She was a cheerleader, popular, involved in countless extracurriculars, well-liked and well-mannered. She excelled in writing, where her emotions painted vivid images. She struggled in math where even now, still needs a calculator to figure out what 20% of a tip would be on a bill. She never rebelled, not because she couldn’t, but because she didn’t want to.
Her parents never demanded perfection, but Chrissy demanded it from herself. The truth of the matter is that Chrissy’s worst fear is her parents being disappointed in her. Their approval isn’t just important, it’s essential. It’s a quiet fear that often sits in her chest and influences many of her decisions. She tends to reread texts before sending them and often second-guesses herself.
When it comes to her social life, Chrissy is effortlessly social. She can light up any room she walks in to. She has never met a stranger. She knows everyone or at least feels like she does, and she carries that familiarity with her wherever she goes. She’s approachable, kind and seemingly uncomplicated. People trust her and her friends relay on her when no one else will show up.
College was a new beginning for Chrissy. Even though she commutes to school, it’s the first time she has experienced this new freedom and all the curiosity that comes along with it. She has started going out more and saying yes to new experiences she once avoided. She has been testing boundaries that she never thought she would cross. There is a quiet thrill to it all and Chrissy has been enjoying it, even wondering who she is when she isn’t trying to be perfect.
As of now, Chrissy is entering complicated territory with blurred lines, risky choices and relationships that don’t fit the version of herself she had previously maintained. She knows better and that’s what makes it harder to walk away. There is a pull toward the unknown, toward something a little messy, a little selfish and a little hers. There’s a divide between who she’s always been and who she might become.
