“Honestly, sometimes I wonder why I ended up in Gryffindor and not you.” She almost never felt suited for it - for her first few years she wondered if being a ‘Puff would be better. But it was her home now, for better or worst. At least for the next few months. “No danger can be a good thing, you know. As much as the healer and I get along, I do not need to hear more stories about her wonderful, accomplished son and the wonderful accomplishments he’s made. I may go out of my mind.”
Rita could easily understand why Gryffindor was never an option for her, while she was a bit rash and impulsive, she was a Ravenclaw through and through. There was never a question that she would have been sorted into another house, she didn’t want to be placed anywhere else. “I would be the worst Gryffindor of all time, it’s really not the place for me. It’s like imagining me as a Hufflepuff, absolutely impossible. Danger is a wonderful thing, Mary, it’s what gets me up in the morning. Maybe she’s trying to set you up with her son, that’s probably why she brags about him so often.”
