How do Godsbane battlesuits work in universe?
Knight moonbeam was created when Mei shoved a bunch of lightning into white comet, Twighlight Executioner's augment core is Theresa using more of her Honkai powers than usual (I think, I havent played that chapter in forever) and Vermillion knight is "just" a extremely overpowered normal battlesuit. But all three are classified as Godsbane, would you happen to know why?
Godsbane battlesuits are the fourth generation of battlesuits made by Schicksal. They are all based on technology gained from Project Sirin and the Key of Blankness.
Project Sirin was studying everything Schicksal could about the powers Sirin used in the Second Honkai War. Tech like time-fracture came from there.
The Key of Blankness is a weapon from the Previous Era that was made to give a regular human the powers of a Herrscher by being able to insert a Herrscher's core into the battlesuit.
Yes, the Key of Blankness is the Vermilion Knight battlesuit, but we'll get back to that.
Anyway using the tech from these sources Schicksal created a series of battlesuits with powers to rival those of a Herrscher.
I am not sure of where all the info on that chart comes from aside from all the names showing up in chapter 9 for a brief moment and you have to go out of your way to find them. I can tell you about the ones we know about on that chart.
Knight Moonbeam is exactly what you see in the game and the ability to shoot a gazillion lasers everywhere at once is its selling point. The reason Kiana pulls it out of thin air a few times is very convoluted but basically, she gets the plans in a data space from Otto and the Herrscher of the Void copies them and makes sure she is able to reconstruct it. That's why Kiana pulls it out of nowhere when her body is being taken over by the Herrscher, like in Singapore and at the end of chapter 6. Why is she able to get it when the 3rd Herrscher gives her a bunch of Honkai energy in the AE Invasion manga? No idea.
Also because Kiana only got the schematics/blueprints/data for it that means the physical battlesuit is still just out there. Susannah Mennat says that Schicksal is looking for candidates to use it in an event.
Blood Knight: Moonlight is the Godsbane suit designed for Theresa. It's actually made to suppress her genes from the Honkai beast Vishnu and prevent her from being as strong as she could be.
Once she gets help from Dr. Einstien in removing the limitations she becomes insanely strong and the battlesuit became the Twilight Paladin battlesuit, for no reason other than mihoyo thought a pretty dress would go cool with her power-up. And they were right.
Argent Knight: Artemis is the Godsbane suit Rita Rossweiss uses.
Argent Knight: Artemis is furnished with a unique particle dispersion system. Activating the Mode spreads the gossamer wings at the back of the battlesuit to disperse Crescent Particles in a large AOE. These particles will quickly sap heat from the surroundings to create a subzero immobilizing cell. This stasis cell will cause mechanical parts to fail and biological hypothermia. Immune to such effects, the Argent Knight can waltz through her stricken enemies and reap the harvest with her scythe.
When Crescent Particle concentration goes beyond a threshold, a humanoid phantom known as Crescent Harvest will materialize behind the battlesuit. Crescent Harvest is the embodiment of Death, and would gladly litter the battlefield with corpses to apply merciless frost.
The description for this battlesuit was far too technobabble filled so I just copied what it says in the game. Anyway yeah, get your Jojo references out of here, we get it. It's a Stand.
Shadow Knight: Eclipse is the Godsbane suit Fu Hua used. I'm going to copy-paste again.
High concentrations of compressed Honkai particles in the reactor are released at extreme velocities, fully extending the blade-shaped propulsion systems at the waist and causing the entire battlesuit to glow orange-red like the full moon. This mode maximizes the power output of the battlesuit and accelerates its already impressive speed to unimaginable velocities. The wearer would be able to close in on her enemies at extreme speed and unload a terrible onslaught of blows.
It also allows her to fly. It makes Fu Hua even more powerful than she is by default. As if she needed the boost with TWO DIVINE KEYS.
Bright Knight: Excelsis is Bianka "Durandal" Ataegina's Godsbane battlesuit. It's all of the other Godsbane suits in one. It can fly like Knight Moonbeam, has rapid mobility enhancements like Shadow Knight, and can summon two phantoms like Argent Knight but better. Only the best most powerful OC do not steal Valkyrie could be strong enough to use this battlesuit. So of course it goes to Durandal.
The Key of Blankness/ Vermilion Knight: Eclipse is an extremely powerful weapon from the Previous Era. Dr. MEI used it herself to kill all 1,000 of the Herrscher of Domination. She crippled herself in the process. As stated earlier, you can plug any Herrscher core into this battlesuit and it will give the wearer the powers of that Herrscher. Once Schicksal got a hold of the Key of Blankness they modified it to work with the Gem of Haste, and that's the version we see Himeko use in-game.
