Daily tarot: the High Priestess. She carries flowers and fruit–two sides of the coin of life’s cycle, joyous life and fertile death–as offerings, dancing under the crescent of the waning moon. Her Grace reminds us to follow our inner voice, to trust the intuitive and quiet gifts that society or our own logic often drown out. She leads us down the path of Mystery and Divinity, and teaches us the instinctive nature of creation.
i had a very long moment with this gorgeous family of bearded tooth fungi.
It’s very interesting how some of us read death symbolically but then read the lovers literally
I honestly kinda read The Lovers as fairly… toxic. Like the traditional RWS with Adam & the burning tree staring down Eve with her lush growth, who only had eyes for the divine. I dunno, it never read as romantic to me.
In some older, pre-occult decks it was titled “The Choice” and there were two women, one “fair” and one “dark” (dark being like older and more matronly) and even Waite saw the card as about making a difficult but necessary decision. He also saw the Eve figure as temptation and blah blah gross christian misogyny but in the Key he discusses the idea of needing to make “a covenant” with the dark mystery secrets of Eve in order to be fulfilled. So yeah, you’re super on target there, it’s not really a sweet card at all.
I like the more Jungian idea of viewing it as choosing to bring disparate parts of the self into a union where they aren’t at odds with each other but can coexist. The Adam and Eve characters AND the angel and the snake are all parts of the individual that are working to exist in connection to each other without one having to outweigh the other.

Laguna Starry Sky : Staring toward the heavens, one of the many lagunas in the Atacama Desert salt flat calmly reflects a starry night sky near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, planet Earth. Cosmic rifts of dust, star clouds, and nebulae of the central Milky Way galaxy are rising in the east, beyond a volcanic horizon. Caught in the six frame panorama serenely recorded in the early morning hours of January 15, planets Jupiter and Mars are close. Near the ecliptic, the bright planets are immersed in the Solar System’s visible band of Zodiacal light extending up and left from the galactic center. Above the horizon to the south (right) are the Large and Small clouds of Magellan, satellite galaxies of the Milky Way. via NASA
