Discord is supposedly saying this is going to affect "only 10% of users", but I really don't believe them at all. It's always going to be way worse and affect more people than what they claim.

Plus with the recent news that discord is scraping all data to train an ai that’s been banning people for posting their Minecraft inventory’s (or any game with a grid really) it’s important we make alternatives well known because this will not stop. Discords shareholders want it, and so far they will not stop.

An alternative that I use personally is fluxer. It’s still in beta, so in my experience on apple devices the calling is glitchy and streams don’t work just yet BUT it’s free, open source, super customizable, and works just like discord. It’s available on mobile and Apple, however iOS doesn’t have an app yet on the App Store.

I’m positive there are more alternatives but it’s so important we make sure there’s still places that the people who rely on discord can go and feel safe without worry that their being monitored to check their age or training an ai off of them.

Hello my friend I am a mother of two little girls from Gaza, Sara (6 years old) and Ameera (5 years old) 💔Before the war, we lived a simple life with a home and dreams like any other family. Today, our home has been destroyed, and we are living in a damaged tent after long months of displacement, fear, hunger, and loss.

My daughters spend their days standing in long lines for water and bread instead of living their childhood 🥺 My husband was also injured while trying to bring food for us during the famine.
