What ur argument against the age gap in rm?

I’m not sure of the intention of your ask, Idk, there’s something about the way you worded it that sounds as if you want me to defend my ship and I don’t play this game. Maybe it’s me pmsing, maybe it’s a language thingy but, hey, talking about my OTP is always an investment.

Just to be clear, I’m not defending Mikasa and Levi as a romantic couple because the ship doesn’t need to be defended, I’m talking from a personal perspective. It's not my mission to convince people to like or stop disliking what I like; when it comes to shipping I don’t give a damn. I’m not going to talk to you about laws, cultural diversity, I’m assuming you have read them. I’m going to talk about power dynamics.

The problem with the age gap—when there’s one—comes from power dynamics and power balance; this imbalance is not exclusive of romantic relationships; however, and to be clear, not every age gap has power imbalance and a lot of times "same age" or "around same age" relationships have a deep problems when it comes to power. Usually, the man (let’s talk heterosexual) is the one having the upper hand when they are not equals... and again is not just the age. Mikasa’s relationships are built very differently—each and every single one. She has, indeed, a huge power imbalance in one of those. Spoilers alert, it’s not her relationship with Levi.

Can the age create a problematic couple dynamic? Yes. Can the age gap not be a problem? Yes.

It’s not just one factor.

It’s never just one factor. 

I much prefer age difference if there is respect, growth, communication, and team effort in any relationship.

Do you know what couple will always give you that? Mikasa and Levi.

I adore Mikasa, and Levi is the definition of kind, caring and strong. He doesn’t judge her, and yes, he’s her superior but he listens to her. He understands her and cares. Levi knows that she can take it but he talks to her. I know people can say we never have them talking, I think, those panels exist in Isayama’s drawers, but the rhythm of the story was really complicated and war/battle focused. So, I take what we have, together and as individual characters. Mikasa doesn’t need a guy to raise, doesn’t need a man-child acting like a jerk. I love that unknown quote that says: “Women, you are not rehabilitation centers for badly raised men. It is not your job to fix him, change him, parent him. You want a partner, not a project.” Well, Mikasa as a woman needs a partner, not a project.

Mikasa and Levi don’t have any dysfunctional power dynamics, because they grow from them. She learned to appreciate more people around her, and it’s not him the one changing her, is her own development. It’s her, learning, sharing, having Sasha and Jean, and Connie around her, is her understanding she cares for Annie and Reiner, it’s her protecting Gaby and letting go when Hanji talked to her… it’s a lot of things, but she grows and so it does her relationship with Levi. She cares for her people and needs someone as strong as she is at her side.

Mikasa is tall (she has the right height to be a modern model, so to most standards, she’s tall), she’s strong—stronger than most of the characters, even Levi if we consider his injuries at the end of the story. And Mikasa is wounded (yes, yes, all of them are, but dude, seriously, the reason those men killed her parents? A titan ate the woman that took her in and she felt powerless, don’t let me start with Grisha (the worst father ever and human ever), let’s never forget that Eren and Armin died once and became titans with an expiration date, then Eren got kill pretty much everyone around her, committed mass murder and ethnic cleansing, and he was the person she wanted to save the most… yes, she is wounded.

Do you know who is equally wounded but not a project? Someone who cares for her? Someone who wouldn’t give a damn about her being strong and taller than him? Levi.

I love the studies about power dynamics, some will tell you dependency creates power imbalances (Sprecher & Felmlee, 1997), others, like Skentelbery and Fowler (2016) explain that most of the time, the negative stereotypes around couples with age-gap are not real, and many couples with age differences “enjoy healthy, fulfilling, loving relationships”. If a couple doesn’t have a power imbalance, there’s no problem. But we live in a society that focuses on one thing and one thing only and obsesses over it. And people have a lack of a deep understanding of what they read—if they read it at all.

The other important thing, we are talking about a fictional world and a lot of people forget it. Mikasa is not a girl going to the mall, worrying about skin problems, and you know, convincing her parents to get her the new iPhone. If you ask me, the only reason the 104 were teens is the genre of the manga, but their age has no real impact on the story. Manga in general has an obsession with young people having adult roles and acting like adults, saving the world, and all that. So, we are already in a male gaze world, I’m not blaming Isayama—he created Mikasa and I will always love him for that. Manga and anime have male-created rules, every relationship will follow those rules, and the thing is, even as a multi-shipper, in the canon setting almost no ship makes romantic sense to me. Isayama creates great and fantastic friendships and platonic interactions but sucks at romance. Seriously. He IS bad. Eren and Mikasa are the worst pair I ever cross paths with, it’s so poorly done and it had a lot of potential—in the plot, not the actual writing. Yet again, it is so heteronormative and boring, and I like those characters (but not together). I truly believe he never intended to have any romantic couple but the editorial pushed him. Said that, let’s forget the existence of E, because for me, in my opinion, their relationship works wonderfully only as platonic.

I see SnK from Mikasa’s and the Ackerman’s eyes, that’s me and my bias. And to me in a world like that she would fall in love with someone man enough to understand her, respect her, admire her strength, and never, EVER hurt her.

I think it's pretty obvious in my writing that I don't like their age; I like the age gap don’t get me wring, but I like to age them up. Why? because they’re child soldiers and I live in a word with that as a reality, so I prefer post-canon verse and AU, and, as I told you, I don’t see romance even if I want to, so I like to explore different scenarios, especially a phycological drama approach. That's why I write older Mikasa; I live for over 26 yo Mikasa, exploring fears and debts (no “doubts”, “debts”), and writing her from Levi’s POV is one of the greatest pleasures of my life.

I’m not gonna lie to you, there are fanartists, fanwriters and shipper in general that love power imbalance and create it and support it. Every community has them, and SnK has a lot of them—including rivamika. Damsels in distress, shorter-than-any-other-character-Mikasa, taller Levi, men dragging/pushing/forcing, women characters acting overemotional and kid of ridiculous while men are playing tricks, consent issues… all that crap you see in any media is here too, but you’ll find non-stereotypical fanworks too, from people that love the characters for what they are. Still, Isayama didn’t create the power imbalance between Levi and Mikasa, the shippers do; some of them.

Pick any ship of your liking and you will see great things and despicable ones. But as always, the problem is not the ship but the shippers.

There's so much negativity on tl, ( I apologize) so let me try to cleanse it.

It can't have been more than like what 2 months since I started being emotionally invested in rivamika ship and I specifically remember going into twt and searching rivamika content. I remember searching rivamika incorrect quotes, and the only TWO existed at the time, yes Fucking TWO whole posts on the entire platform. Can you believe that compared to any other ships on there? I started following most rivamika au authors because they had the largest platform at the time in twt. I was surprised when I found out rivamika was a hated ship because of misinformation I literally hated the fact that I liked underrated things, but coming on Tumblr and seeing so many analysis and theories made me realise it's much more than it meets the eye. And the fact what majority believes isn't always true.

Because this fandom has grown so freaking much over the last two months it's actually insane, now if you search rivamika incorrect you won't be able to reach the end of it in one go, before I used to lurk under the tag and find the same shit from years back on there, but look now there's at least new fanart every single day. There's au in English or nor Every single time I go there. I have watched rivamika artists go from hundreds of followers count to thousands, in matter of weeks. I have seen all the "made in March of 2021" accounts follow me and their contribution to the community. A comment section which would usually be full of hate on rivamika page is now a section full of defenders, supporters and anti comments being ratioed. To all the shippers who stayed since the very beginning, how just how did you get through it all? Years of hate comments, death threats and the draught of S2, I am the privileged one who had never had to go through those. Despite being considered as "weirdos, pedos etc" tell me How did it feel to be known as the 4th most popular ship of aot in as of Feb of 2021? You are the same people who would get excited over rivamika being on the same page rather than focusing on the bad side of things, and now I am like that too. 🤣 That's my character development.

Good things don't last but I hope at least this community does even after 139.

Same thing happened in Thai SNK Community; there are more fans who like this ship. I just started shipping Rivamika back in 2019 after I started reading fanfics of this opt. Then, I decided to venture in Thai fandom, to see what they had to say about this ship. Well, in Thai society, they barely blinked an eye when it comes to age gap, however, many people still have a wrong concept regarding incest. Mostly because Thai people cannot understand English and they think that “incest” means an interaction between whoever shares bloodline, regardless of how distant they are. Of course, I cannot tolerate it. So, I decided to publish an article in Thai, summarizing every Rivamika article from Western fandom “Why Rivamika is not incest, and it is okay to ship it.” I’m pretty surprised that there’s almost zero to none Rivamika article written in Thai before even though this ship is quite popular on fanfiction platforms. It is more popular than Eremika, let me tell you, in terms of quantity of fanfictions they produced. But yeah, I guess no one really took time to write a long-ass article on why this ship is harmless and is often misunderstood. On AOT Facebook page [Thai Community] as I’ve researched, there’s just one post about Rivamika in one year. No one EVER seriously talked about this ship before. Then after my article had been published, many members in the page started talking about this, citing my article. Now, there are, like, 1-3 posts discussing Rivamika in each month [positively, of course]. lol. Many more fans started defending the ship and now they have a correct understanding about the concept of incest and pedophile [thank god]. I guess I can now die in peace.

Before deciding you would ship this, would you begin dating your 15 year old cousin you met at the family reunion? Would you beging dating your 19 year old cousin? Your 30 year old cousin? Your 40 year old cousin? If you had a teacher, and that teacher began dating you as soon as you entered college, would that feel okay? I would like to clarify first Levi’s age. Before the time skip, he was in his EARLY thirties (which ranges from 30 to 33). So in the time skip, he is probably 34-37. I don’t get those people who kept on insisting that he was 35 before the time skip when it clearly stated EARLY thirties, not MID thirties. But anyways, just want to clarify that tho!

I already told you, RivaMika was born because of a DEVELOPING relationship, and relationship doesn’t need to be ROMANTIC in canon. Levi has clearly ZERO intention to pursue Mikasa because romance is not the priority, but he cares for her as a senior/comrade. We love their DYNAMICS, not his NON-EXISTENT manipulative and predatory nature that YOU keep on insisting. When Mikasa Ackerman volunteered herself for the Hunger Games as a replacement for her sister, Historia, it never crossed her mind that Levi would be the other tribute.

The odds were definitely not in her favor today.

As much as she wanted to focus on Hange Zoe's briefing and occasional gushes about the Capitol, the baker's son was really distracting her. Short height, dark tufts of hair styled in an undercut curtain. Very average. There's nothing to be complimented about him—except his ability to remain emotionless.

However, an invisible string was pulling her whole attention towards him. An invisible string she awfully wanted to cut with a Thank you for the bread. She hated owing people particularly him but the opportunity to express her gratitude was as rare as Eren hitting his target. They never met again after that rainy day. Ironically, here they were, seated on the fancy tribute train en route to their doom.

Maybe she was imagining it, but the gold pin given by Sasha burned hot on her palms as she realized that she may never have the chance to properly thank Levi or perhaps she would after slitting his throat.

 "Well, there's this one girl. I've had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I'm pretty sure she didn't know I was alive until the reaping."

Mikasa's forehead unconsciously creased. It never occurred to her that Levi—the Levi— knew the concept of having a crush. While the host continued to pester her fellow tribute about his crush, Mikasa's mind wanders on who would be the lucky girl that got the elusive baker's son. Might it be Petra? She was the most beautiful girl in District 12.

In the process of profiling every girl in her district for the possible candidate, she failed to comprehend what Levi just replied to why he would never get the girl.

"Because she came here with me." Mouth gaping, she forced herself to simmer down whatever emotion was threatening to come out.

The wild thumping of her heart was deafening that not even the roar of the crowd nor the national anthem of Panem would drown it.

That boy, few inches away from her was trying to make her look like a lovesick girl, a weakling. That thought was enough for her to slammed her fist on his chest when he stepped from the car.

"What was that for?" She hissed.

Without exerting any effort, he shoved away her hands.

The boyish glint on his eyes when he proclaimed his undying admiration for her was long gone. It was the confirmation she needed to prove her qualms; it was all for the sake of pretension. A big show for the spectators.

"You're welcome," said Levi gruffly, fixing his crumpled suit. The indifference made Mikasa sick. "Welcome? For what? For turning me into a complete idiot in front of the entire country? Then please accept my gratitude."

Levi snorted with derision, "I just made you look desirable—" Desirable?! The nerve of this guy! "And let's face it, you were about as romantic as dirt until I said that I wanted you. Now they all do. If anything, I should be the one getting angry for painstakingly modifying your character. You're welcome."

His words pained her. Even so, he was right. The Capitol gobbled up shits like this. Star-crossed lovers from the poorest district. What a beautiful, tragic love story.

His words despite their sharpness gave her the edge among the other tributes. Without it, she would be reduced to a bubbling innocent girl, spinning in a sparkly dress. In short, dull and forgettable.

"Thank you," she says, forcing herself to accept the fact that Levi saved her again.

 Mikasa brushed the hair back from his eyes and she flinched when her fingers slightly grazed his burning forehead.

"Thank you," he whispered, fighting the urge to wince because god forbid that Levi showed an ounce of discomfort. "Stop talking."

She bit her tongue when she remembered that they were supposed to be madly in love. Star-crossed lovers desperate to get home together. Two hearts beating as one. Romance.

"If I die tod—"

"Don't say that," she interrupted. "I did not painstakingly save you for nothing."

The corners of his lips slightly rose with mirth that compelled Mikasa to frown. Despite his fever and injuries, he could still find amusement in her. Only Levi could annoy someone even he's on the brink of death. Suddenly, out of nowhere, fear washed over her. After watching him slay the majority of the tributes, Mikasa forgot that this man, her pretend lover, was also a human; vulnerable and could die.

"Just in case—"

Mikasa was left stunned by her sudden action. Kissing him was not part of the plan. She was not supposed to that. Perhaps it was the fear or the obligation to provide entertainment for her sponsors that drove her to go for a kiss. Nevertheless, Mikasa Ackerman was sure that a small part of her had grown attached to this insufferable shorty that she was willing to forgive him for stealing her first kiss, technically.

"You're not dying on my watch, Levi."

The conviction on her voice was enough for him.

Sorry if this was too short, anon. It's been years since I've last read the Hunger Games. I only skimmed throught it a moment ago, I would love to add more scenes but I don't want to ruin Hunger Games for you. Please forgive meeee🥺👉👈

Gah! You have no idea how long Hunger Game AU plot has been plaquing my mind. I love your snippets, thank you. However, in my Hunger Game AU version, I think some details are in need of changes. 

- Yes, Levi and Mikasa would become tributes for #58 Annual Hunger Game. Together they are known as Humanity’s Strongest Pair.

- Erwin Smith would be the Head Gamemaker for the Hunger Games. However, he has a secret agenda of Evolution. 

- Who would be a volunteer tribute for this?

I would go with Levi volunteering for a tribute in place of Farlan. However, the real reason is that he did that for Mikasa (duh) because he’s secretly in love with her. As for Mikasa, she didn’t volunteer for anyone. However, the reason her name has been drawn as a tribute was that she had put her name into the Reaping many times to gain extra food for her adoptive family, the Yeagers. At the time, the whole family was sick and unable to provide for themselves. 

I have 2 versions of this played in my mind though. 

If I go for Mikasa, it would be her going for Eren. But Hunger Game has no such rule as volunteering cross sex. So... yeah, I drop that possibility until someone come up with something that plausible. 

- Levi’s backgrounds: He wouldn’t be a baker’s son, like Peta. I mean the concept of him being a baker’s son is too soft... too farfetched for me. Instead, I would keep his background as is. He’s a notorious thug leader of Trost District with Farlan and Isabel by his side.

- Hunger Game Arena: It could be mountains full of Titans running rampage. The tributes would find themselves with ODM gears for survival. 

Well... that would be all folks.

 Summary

Meet The Robinson’s AU

Ok @imagine-miraculousladybug I just thought of the absolute BEST AU ever which could totally be canon compliant with MLB because lets face it…everyone in that show is either dense as a brick, blind as a bat or both.

Behold…The AU that is totally plausible :

So Adrien is upset for some reason because his Dad is (in his best interest) trying to control him and normally Adrien is used to it but Gabriel says he wants what’s best for him and then the next day turns around and cancels yet another dinner/lunch break he promised to spend with his son. Adrien feels betrayed and used and really pissed off so he runs to his room and cries and even Plagg can’t comfort the cute muffin. 

He spends literally hours staring at pictures of him sandwiched between his Mom and Dad as a kid who are tickling and smiling at him and basically they all are acting like a family.

Adrien want’s to- no needs to fix his family so he asks Plagg for a favor. 

The next day he signs up for Ms. Mendeliev’s science fair who is excited to see what her prized student will do (Mme M. basically only likes Adrien from the class and very grudgingly).

Marinette signs up as well because its Adrien. (Need I say more ?)

So Adrien spends days and weeks and nearly a month studying up everything he can going way beyond the Physics a boy his age should know but he is very desperate so the long nights are worth it. (He gets to nap in his Lady’s lap while she watches over Paris after Patrol so that’s a plus).

Come the science fair. Adrien is really pumped and nervous but a few encouraging words from Nino and he takes his project to the fair very happily. 

Now Adrien is no Physics prodigy but the favor he asked Plagg, who only wants his charge to be happy, comes in very useful for his project.

Mme Mendeliev is judging the fair and Mayor Bourgeois is a guest. M. D’Argencourt demands to be allowed to judge because a) it’s his stadium and b) his ancestors were very well educated in the sciences.

 Adrien sets up his project. He bumps into Marinette who promptly drops some of her things but its okay. No harm done.

Now Adrien was completely prepared to be a magical girl when Plagg showed up. What he was not prepared for is a strange green eyed boy with extremely messy raven hair to pop up out from behind the table as soon as he takes out his project. (Extra emphasis on the boy’s messy hair).

He talks cryptically and he can’t be much older than Adrien himself but he gives a weird introduction about being from the future and a strange warning to look out for someone who might sabotage his project and disappears. 

Adrien shrugs it off. The boy seemed familiar for some reason but Adrien pegged it as a prank and moved on not noticing someone of to the sidelines spying on him.

That someone in particular manages to sabotage the project even though he doesn’t come within a 10 meter radius of the young Agreste.

Finally its Adrien’s turn to present. Mme Mendeleiv has already scolded a few students and M. D’Argencourt even made one run a lap around the football stadium for the poor project quality. 

All three judges know and respect Adrien though so they expect his project to be good. 

Adrien is ecstatic. This is his chance. He’ll get a good grade and show his dad and if his plan works he might even be able to fix his family.

He starts his presentation. The strange boy is watching but in the course of being at the fair he bumped into Marinette three times too many and the normally sweet girl is pissed, so this time she demands he help her clean up. (Both are staring at Adrien’s presentation though).

Marinette thinks he looks familiar too but doesn’t know from where either.

The boy notices the project going wrong before Adrien does. It doesn’t work and causes a mass panic in the stadium when a propeller hits one of the lights and the smoke sets off the fire sprinklers.

Adrien runs off frustrated, angry and upset. He can’t do anything right. (Poor Muffin).

The boy follows him and comes into his huge room and very discreetly pretends to be a cat but that’s ridiculous and Adrien just isn’t in the mood for this nonsense.

Boy claims his name is Louis and that he’s from the future. Adrien has none of it this time.

An argument ensues and Louis fails to convince Adrien to go fix his project and Adrien fails to believe Louis is from the future. So Louis strikes a deal, he proves he’s from the future and Adrien fixes his project. 

The model with banana hair goes along with it because, Come on. This boy can’t actually prove he’s from the future, right ? Wrong.

Adrien has seen many weird things and done many weird things. Being Chat Noir sort of ensures that. Being thrown out out the window isn’t new to him but when a stranger does it and your not fighting Akumas in battle it’s pretty terrifying.

Apparently there exists an invisible time machine that catches him. Adrien is screaming and the boy is smirking and in a weird burst of light they enter…another dimension ?

It’s beautiful. Tall buildings, clean skies, greenery and flowers and basically it’s the perfect Utopia of the future.

Louis asks for confirmation that Adrien believes him. Satisfied that he kept with his end of the deal, he asks Adrien to fix the project who rips up his diagram and decides that a time machine that works is way better at solving his problems than a device that doesn’t.

Louis is baffled and at a loss for words because he can’t explicitly explain why it’s so important Adrien fixes his machine instead of using the time machine. 

Both boys fight over the steering wheel, crash the ship and from Louis’ point of view, prepare his grave.

After a bit of arguing over the fact that who’s older, what should be done about the ship and how to keep Louis’ family from murdering him and dancing on his grave they come to an agreement : Adrien will try and fix the ship with the help of Louis’ friend Carl and Louis will take Adrien to exactly where he wants to go in his timeline.

They manage to get the ship to a garage so as to fix it and meet a robot who promptly screams and runs away. Louis gives Adrien a hat that is essentially a sculpture of…Cookies and Camembert ? (“It’s all the rage right now. I should know, my Mom’s the designer”).

Adrien learns that under NO circumstances can he meet Louis’ family and he must stay. in. the. garage. at all times. Adrien absolutely hates that because he’s been cooped up all his life but now no one can stop him so up a magic tube thingy he goes.

It takes him in front of a large mansion. It looks nothing like his own mansion and has a warmer feel to it but Adrien suspects that like all needlessly large houses, it’s mostly empty.

He freaks out when he meets a towering old man who apparently can’t find his rolling pin ? That’s odd. But nonetheless he’s the only one Adrien can ask to get back to the garage so he follows the old man all around the house.

Adrien is pleasantly surprised to find that the house in fact is not empty but full of life and even meets a bunch of Louis’ family.

Finally they reach the sewing studio. A giant door that leads into a huge room covered in fabric of all types and sewing equipment. Mannequins are spread out and assorted papers are stuck to the wall. 

A woman with Louis’ jet black hair is sewing something while Jagged Stone blares from the speakers. She is wearing a red, black, pink and white dress and makes it work. She addresses the older man as ‘Papa’ and finds Adrien endearing while giving him an impromptu tour around her studio while they search for the rolling pin.

They find it and the family rushes in excitedly and they apparently really love cookies because they congratulate Louis’ grandpa for having found it. (”Cookies for desert tonight, Uncle Tom ?”)

Louis has been freaking out and looking practically everywhere for Adrien and they run into each other just as he escapes the sewing studio not wanting to intrude on this obviously happy family. 

Louis’ asks for a rundown of what he knows. Adrien complies :

“Ok so Tom is married to Sabine. They are bakers. Their daughter is Mari, who’s full name I do not know. She’s a designer and is married to someone everyone refers to as CN, for some absurd, reason…who does your Dad look like ?” 

“Jeremy Johnson.” 

“Okay so Mari is married to CN while her best friend is Alya. Alya is married to The DJ who has known Mari since Kindergarten. The rest are also childhood friends. Kim is married to someone dubbed Swift who has pink hair. They like challenging each other. Then Prince is married to Rosie and they are really close with Jules. Nath is a painter and a world renowned artist. He is in a relationship with someone dubbed Bee but I didn’t meet her. She was on the phone talking to a ‘Sabrina’ in another room and Tom said disturbing her wasn’t wise. Ivan and Millie are married and Max is someone who is on a business trip with your Dad. I didn’t get to meet any of the kids in the family but I know DJ and Alya have a son and so do Ivan and Millie.” 

“Aren’t you forgetting something ?” 

“Oh yeah, Mari and CN have three kids. You are the eldest and from what I know have a younger brother and sister.” 

“And no one know’s your from the past ?” 

“Not a soul.”

Ok so now Adrien should have put two and two together or someone from the future should have but everyone is dense and couldn’t see the similarities because apparently Adrien’s hair was hidden in the Cookies and Camambert hat. Thus no one suspected and the boys made it to the garage.

They manage to get the machine to work for all of a minute before it crashes and Adrien’s self loathing reappears.

Mari demands they come up for dinner or she’s gonna come get them. They can’t very well show her the broken time machine so up they go.

Adrien finally meets Emma and Hugo and the other future kids. Dinner time is the best and for the first time in a long time Adrien has dinner with an actual family who may not be related by blood but it doesn’t matter to them.

When the conversation steers too close to personal territory, Louis creates a fight between Kim and Mari. Adrien is astounded at her mad Kung Food skills. (The family makes this pun and Adrien is so ecstatic).

Adrien lets it slip that : “Your all so nice. If I had a family, I’d want them to be just like you.”

Mari who is very much like her own mother goes into mom mode and asks Louis what that means. Turns out this Adrien has a similar backstory to her husband’s.

A dinosaur crashes the dinner party along with a swarm of butterflies. It target’s Adrien and you would think this family is made of superheroes’ the way it works together.

The sun has nearly completely set by the time the fight finishes and Adrien gets carried away and calls Mari, “Mom” when she hugs him and Louis. 

Cue awkward silence. 

Louis decides to take Adrien home very loudly announcing so because suddenly his Mom has her determined face on and before he knows it she’s inviting Adrien to stay with them, because from what Louis tells her and she knows, Adrien’s home isn’t one he should be living in.

The hat comes off, gasps all around. Adrien defends Louis but Mari tells him he absolutely has to go back to the past. Feeling rejected he asks to let Louis take him to his mom first. Mari is furious and Louis lets it slip that he never intended to go through with his promise of taking Adrien to his Mom.

That is the last straw. Adrien runs away and Louis is grounded for life. The boy still goes after him just in time to see Adrien accept a deal from Hawkmoth (who in this AU has not been defeated).

Adrien doesn’t even notice the butterfly when it slips into his family photo in his pocket. Hawkmoth promises him to see his mom in return for something. For once, it isn’t the miraculous. 

Adrien accepts. Hawkmoth takes him to an abandoned building with a large butterfly window and makes Adrien fix it while he’s mumbling hateful words about the machine as he fixes it.

In an unlikely turn of events, Hawkmoth makes him come to the conclusion that he is Louis’ dad. (Hallelujah give the boy a prize !).

Hawkmoth tells him he just wants to find his wife, just like Adrien wants to find his Mom, but Adrien know’s what Hawkmoth’s doing is wrong by akumatizing people.

Hawkmoth then betrays him and refuses to take him back but promises Adrien that he will see his Mom soon. Once again the poor thing is betrayed.

He’s rescued by Louis and the robot friend named Carl. Hawkmoth steals back the machine though and Louis disappears as Hawkmoth goes back in time and changes the future. 

Louis only manages to tell Adrien that Hawkmoth is Gabriel and reminding him that only he can save the future, before being wiped from existence. The last think he says is , “I know you can do this…Dad.”

Now Adrien doesn’t know what to do because his Ladybug isn’t here. She’s back in their own timeline. When he makes it back to the house to find Marinette and the others they’ve all been akumatized already so they can’t help.

Adrien hurriedly fixes the time machine and travels back in time to stop his Dad from signing the machine to a Invention company, thereby broadening his market and helping him get more influence which, (according to him), would somehow help him to be able to find his wife so him, Adrien and Catmom Agreste can be a happy family again.

Adrien interrupts the meeting right as his Dad was giving his concluding statements about ‘The Memory Scanner’ and forcefully brings his Dad back to a future in which everyone is akumatized and there is chaos and destruction. 

Gabriel is shocked and upset. He just wanted to make his son happy by making their family whole again. 

Adrien just tells him that Gabriel needs to be a better father and  pay more attention to him and he’ll be happy. They hug. 

“One parent is better than none. I miss mom, but she’s gone. I miss you, but your still here.”

Since Gabriel never signed the contract handing over Adrien’s machine, the future is back to normal. Louis appears in front of him and hugs him.

He attacks Hawkmoth and when Adrien pulls him off and says “Meet your grandfather. I’m assuming you haven’t.” Louis is shocked and replies “He’s your DAD ?”.

Mumbling apologies and saying something like “We have too many superheroes in this family.”, Louis grudgingly accepts Gabriel who backs off as the rest of the family greet Adrien.

Cue a frantic Older Adrien and Max rushing out of the house and Tom commenting “They’re home early.” Both are screaming about the two time machine’s being missing when younger Adrien comes face to face with his older self.

His older self is an inventor apparently and still Chat Noir. While Marinette is Ladybug (Adrien can’t wrap his head around that). 

This convo takes place :

“Do we ever go back and find mom. Do we see her again ?”

“You’ll have to find that out yourself. I can’t tell you for certain.”

“I was figuring you would say that.”

“Well we are one smeowrt kid.”

Everyone can’t stop saying goodbye. Mari gives him one last piece of advice while booping his nose : 

“I am always right. Even when I’m wrong, I’m right.”

“She’s right. I’d believe it if I were you. And I am.” 

“You’ll always have a family Adrien. You still do. Just wait and see.” 

“I sure you are absolutely right.”

Louis and Adrien finally go back in time and Adrien is shocked to see himself farther back in the timeline than he expected. Louis wants to honor his promise but Adrien doesn’t stop his mom the night she leaves. He has an opportunity but doesn’t take it because he realizes he has a family.

He still doesn’t know why his Mom left even though they were happy, but he won’t deny her what she felt was right.

Back to the science fair. Adrien gets a retry and this time he calls his Dad who, for once, shows up for him having learned his mistake. Adrien asks for a volunteer and his Dad steps up.

They see memories of his family when Adrien was younger and its a bittersweet moment and Gabriel and Adrien work on their relationship.

Adrien gets an article featured in the newspaper. For once its not because he’s a model or Gabriel’s son. 

He looks around the room, sees his proud classmates and future family, Marinette is cheering him on, Nino giving a thumbs up and the rest of his class is proud too.

Slowly things heal between Adrien and his Dad. He’s more free and finally he takes steps to reach where he was in the future. 

Not everything is the same. His father is in that future. But his family never changes and Adrien is content and happy.

This is rushed, unedited and quickly done because I was in a hurry. I apologize for the mistakes in advance. Tell me what you think. I had fun writing this. It struck me and I just had to get it out. I didn’t see this AU done before so I hope I did it justice. I’ll try to go back and properly edit later but probably won’t have time so this’ll have to do.

Well, in the end, since Adrien learns that Mari IS his Lady maybe he could say something vague but not too outright to her like, “Would you go on a date with me?“ or something... I don’t know. Urge, I need this AU for real.

Imagine if you will. Jade Turtle and Fox!Alya. Nino and Alya are dating, but dont know each others identities as heroes. Jade Turtle and Volpina are practically rivals. They are both good guys, but them hiding behind a mask lets them act out in freedom, so it sort of accentuates part of their personality the other person dislikes. So Jade Turtle and Volpina fucking hate each other like alot. And one time Nino is shitting on Volpina and he doesnt get why Alya gets so angry and runs away crying. And then later he is Jade Turtle and finds Volpina ranting and crying and angry and he asks whats wrong and she screams at him to leave but he doesnt. and she asks why and he says “You’re hurting, somethings wrong. I know we don’t get along but… I already messed up pretty hard today. I’m not gonna give you a hard time. We can talk if you need it.” and she is really caught off guard and touched kinda, but hesitant to open up to Jade. But she basically says “Someone really important to me hates me… Volpina I mean. He hates the hero but he just… turns around and says he loves me… and…” 

She starts to cry again, and Jade stands there traumatized, because it’s Alya.

and he doesnt know what to do. and Now it’s alyas turn to wonder why Jade is suddenly so… pained. So genuinely upset, and why he leaves so quickly.

And then the next day Nino breaks up with Alya, saying something like “I… I messed up. I made a mistake and I didn’t mean for this… I don’t- you deserve someone better. I’m sorry… I’ll get you back one day. but it will be right this time” and Alya is heart broken and confused

and then after that day Alya never speaks to Nino, ever, but he is never mean to her or makes things awkward, but her heart is broken. And after that day Jade Turtle is different and she doesnt understand why. He’s still got all those things she hated but… she remembers how kind he had been when he didnt need to be. And now she sees a lot of that, the good things that she didnt see because she was so focused on the bad, and he’s kinder to her. He’s more understanding of her temper and impulsiveness, and is a really calm balance for her. They both see and acknowledge each others flaws but get closer anyways, and after a year Volpina and Jade Turtle start to date. They fall in love, completely in love, but Alya is struggling because… he reminds her so much of him. So much of Nino. And then she starts to put it together, starts to bring together everything.

‘I’ll get you back one day… but this time… I’m gonna do it right.’
