I want you, I want you so bad.
a cry-baby, sweet pea x betty aesthetic for @riverdaledarkbetty1.
I put a little spin on this and reversed the roles :)
The laundromat was always empty this time of day, for which Betty was thankful.
She liked to lay across the seats with her feet kicked up, walkman headphones hooked around her neck.
The door chimed overhead and caught her attention. Sitting up, she put one foot back on the floor and hooked her arm over her bare knee.
A square — a good looking one at that. Dark tousled hair, glasses, and tall as hell. Betty wondered if she’d even come up to his chin.
What was really interesting though, was that he didn’t seem bothered by her presence. He glanced her way and tipped his head, then carried on to the row of washers.
“Are you listening to Guns ‘N Roses?”
Looking up from where she was fixated on watching his hands, she nodded. “Yeah, you like them?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow.
His eyes swept over her crimped hair and dropped down to the neon paint splattered shirt she was wearing. “Is that so surprising?”
She shrugged a shoulder lazily. “For someone like you, a little.”
“Someone like me?”
“A square,” she pointed out, twirling her finger around.
He huffed, shutting the lid of the washer after tossing in some soap. “Maybe I’m tired of being a square.”
“Well…” she trailed off, gesturing.
“Sweet Pea,” he supplied.
“Well, Sweet Pea, maybe I can help you out with that. I’m Betty.” And she smiled at him with a tilt of her head.
Coming back finally
I'm really sorry for going MIA but I'm back and in the mood for more sweetbetts so I guess once marching band is done (in 3 days ) I'm going to have to start pumping the content back out
Jughead:*cough*
Sweet Pea: you know if your gonna die at least die quietly.
Jughead: I’m not gonna die.
Sweet Pea: well thank for getting my fucking hopes up.
Official book cover for my Sweet Pea/Betty Cooper zombie!AU fanfic I have coming up! I posted a mood/aesthetics board for it not long ago, but at that point it was called ‘(in your head, in your head) they are fighting’. I wasn’t totally pleased with the title and just let it go and lo and behold my brain gave me a better one :)
Each of the titles of the chapters will be ‘Track #’ and followed by the real life ‘playlist’ I made for this story. It’s not totally set though, so if YOU have a song you’d put in your end of the world playlist, lemme know! If I like it, i might just have to put it in there!
Anywho, hope to get the first chapter out by the end of next week or so, and after that, I think I’ll update it weekly! I was glad to see the hype when I just posted the board!
If you wanna keep updated on this fic and other art I do to go with it, be sure to follow this blog!

What if it wasn’t as simple as asking her to stay that night in his beaten down trailer? What if Betty needed more time to get to know herself and figure out what she wanted? What if it’s not Jughead she ends up losing her virginity to that night?

Summary:
“Maybe, had she recently been involved in fewer alarming incidents, she would’ve been able to join her friends in getting a regular summer job, but the truth was that nothing as tedious as a fast food fryer or as safe as a day camp counsellor was really Betty’s speed anymore.”
Summer’s coming and Betty goes out to get a job. Penelope Blossom’s door is the first and only one she knocks on.
Excerpt from Chapter 4:
“He was actually starting to make her a little impatient. He couldn’t be shy, or if he was, he was fine being shy about himself yet totally cool with peeping on her. He couldn’t be shunning her, or if he was, it was because he hadn’t liked what he’d seen after checking her out through the hatch. Betty frowned in dissatisfaction. Perhaps his reasoning was something she hadn’t thought of, but what if it wasn’t? Should she just sit by (naked!) and allow this arrogant garden-helper-dude to control their interactions? Absolutely not!
‘Hey!’ she called down at him, echoing his previous overture to her… in a ruder tone of voice.
He didn’t so much as turn his head. Betty crossed her arms in frustration. She was deciding whether or not to shout at him again, self-esteem fighting caution, when he bent down and apparently rewound the cassette. Seconds later, Eric Carmen took it from the top.
Betty sighed. It seemed like he was trying to communicate something to her, but what?
Her lips parted without regard for her brain.
The gardener… the guy… her gardener-guy… was taking off his shirt.”

Ch.2
Betty was glad to be off the next day, it was Sunday and she had errands she had to run. The only problem was that she couldn’t pull herself out of bed. It wasn’t that she was tired it had more to do with the fact she didn’t like waking up alone to an empty apartment. It was a small but cozy place to live and she didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a place she’d bearly be at besides to sleep and sometimes eat. Betty kept herself busy and occupied with things to do each day and if there was nothing to do she’d find something to do. So though she was a morning person she hated them. She hated first waking up and always felt paranoid getting ready. After muttering silent motivations she threw the covers off of her legs.
Betty slumped out of her room into the cramped kitchen and made herself a bowl of Cheerios. As she ate she picked up her phone and saw a 7 text six from Eross and one from Veronica.
(Ronnie: Me and hubby love Paris! When are you going to come visit?!?!)
Betty rolled her eyes and smiled Veronica had been trying to get Betty to visit but honestly Betty was extremely apprehensive. She sent a simple smiley face knowing Veronica would not accept the conversation as done but moving on anyway.
(Asswipe: soooo…where are we going today?)
(Asswipe: Peony kicked me out for the night, after hearing about my idea of a threesome)
(Asswipe: are you still sleep? Betty I am outside the building get up)
(Asswipe: It is eight why are you still sleep?)
Betty looked at the clock to see it was now nine twenty-four and rolled her eyes Eross was one to get up at the crack of dawn and believed since he was up and ready to go everyone else should be too.
(Asswipe: BITCH I SWARE TO GOD IF YOU DO NOT GET UP)
(Asswipe: it is now 9:15 I am giving you 10 minutes to get down here and answer me)
(Asswipe: I’m coming up)
Betty sat her phone down and looked over towards the door as loud banging with the yells of her name filled the place. She sent a winky and devil emoji and waited a few seconds until she heard him shout.
“open this door!” she walked over and unlocked the door as he pushed his way in. When he turned and took in her pajamas and messy hair he crossed his arms and let out a huff.
“15 minutes be ready"
“I need at least thirty” she exasperated
“twenty" he walked over to the couch and flopped down
“Well I’m taking thirty five” she smirked and he flipped her off as she left to get ready.
Exactly forty five minutes later she came out in a baby blue sundress and slipped on a pair of nude flats. Eross simply glared at her and they walked out to her car. It was older and beat down but she had fixed it up over the years, only now she wanted to actually take it into the shop, one of her errends to accomplish today. She put the key in the ignition and started it up, only it made a lot of sputtering and creeking noise then burned out. They both made a face at each other as she tried again. And again. It didn’t work until her 5th attempt and she took off before anything else happened.
“Why do you still keep this thing, just get a new car"
“It was my very first one okay"
“I never took you for a horder"
“I’m not a horder! I just…want it to last as long as possible that’s why I’m taking it to a garage so they can check it and fix it, I don’t have the time right now"
He huffed and crossed his arms “Well before you do that could you drop me off at the flower shop down the street from it? I need to get my beautiful she-devil of a girlfriend an apology gift"
“Wow" Betty laughed “Beautiful she-devil, that’s new"
“I said beautiful"
“sure, I’ll walk down there when I’m done"
He nodded and the rest of the ride was full of laughs and bad jokes. Her radio was broken, which she hated and planned to get fixed one day, so it was nice to talk instead of singing to fill the silent void. When she got to the flower shop she let him out and drove over to the car garage. It was one part of the Southside that stayed, though it was fixed up and slightly remodeled, it still showed some parts of the old abused side of town. She loved it there, it was where she used to buy all her tools and tires when she still worked on her car herself. The smell of moter oil and gas, with tools, bolts and screws lining the walls of the inside. She felt nostalgic there. Though it was more for her fixing car days than the actual building. She felt a pang in her chest at the thought of her dad who was the one to teach her all of her knowledge about cars, and automobiles. She rushed out of the car to take her mind off of it.
She opened the door and the little bell went off signaling a costumers entrance and exit. There was no one behind the counter, or inside and after checking and seeing the sign said opened, she figured it was a slow day and went to look around. She knew she had no reason to buy any tools, the ones she had were fine, a bit old, but fine nonetheless. That didn’t stop her from examining them as if she was going to buy them. She heard heavy footsteps but didn’t pay much mind to them until a voice called out.
“we’re really gonna have to stop meeting like this coop” her head snapped up to see sweet pea standing behind the counter with his elbows and arms resting on it, and leaning forward smirking at her across the room. She couldn’t help but notice his arms, he was Waring a black tank top and, with the sun out, had a light sheen of sweat on him. She stared a bit longer than she would have liked before she walked over to stand in front of him on the other side.
“Sweet pea what a pleasant surprise” she smiled “I see your feeling more…conversational today" he narrowed his eyes at her and pushed himself off the counter rising to his full height and crossing his arms.
“I guess, to say the least" he shrugged “What do need?”
“I just need my car checked out, it’s making weird noises and having trouble starting up”
“Last I checked you were quite the mechanic yourself, why are you coming here?”
“Well the last time you checked was eight to nine years ago" she said it softly not even meaning to. It fell from her pink lips before she could take it back. Truth was she wasn’t mad he left, more sad, they had become close friends even if he wouldn’t admit it. They had been so close whenever her and jug got into fights he would take her side nine times out of ten and when he didn’t he would help her fix whatever they were at ends about. Though she wasn’t as close to him as Toni and Fangs they were close enough to where her heart broke a little the day he left and the days of never finding him that followed. His eyes widened a little but his face remained emotionless. He let out a deep sigh and uncrossed his arms and laid his plans flat on the surface between them, and the tension and uncomfort rose to new heights.
“Betty-“
“No, no I’m sorry I’m just really busy at the time, that’s why I can’t work on it, just ignore what I said”
“I’m sorry" it was quick but honest, she looked into his eyes and saw they were guarded but filled with guilt. He wasn’t one to say sorry, she wasn’t even sure she had ever heard him apologize before.
“It’s okay, really" they were quiet for a minute looking at anything but each other, until he clapped his hands together.
“okay let’s go take a look" he turned around and grabbed a tool box and she followed him outside. When she pointed out her car he stopped in his tracks “You still have that thing?” he laughed. She placed a hand on her hips and glared at him.
“Yes, I do, is that a problem?”
“the color is still so awful" her car was a fiat 500, a bright fading yellow fiat 500, though now the yellow was peeling and dingy, a real pain to look at, at times.
“Well it’s not like I picked out! And the color isn’t that bad"
“Uh, yeah it is, you never thought about a paint job or something?”
“Oh, I’m sorry, with all the other issues going on a paint job is the least of my worries, now" she gave an annoyed huff at his slights towards her car “could you please check it out”
“fine then" he went to examining her car and she watched from behind for a little while before heading inside and looking at more of the supplies . After a few minutes he came back with a towl on his shoulder covered in greese and oil like his hands. He wiped them on his black jeans, completely missing the use of the towel she noted, and walked over to lean against the wall beside the stand of screwdrivers she was looking at.
“It’ll take a couple hours to get it safe to drive, which by the way you shouldn’t have even been doing” He raised an eyebrow at her and she gave a shrug in response. “anyway if you want full repairs it won’t be done till tommorow" her shoulders slumped at that. She didn’t want to have to come back in week because her car was only just safe to drive, not fully fixed, but she had no ride back and it was too far to walk home.
“Are you sure there’s no other way?”
“if there was another option I would have told you"
“Well I’m sorry, but I don’t have a way home, and I need full repairs" she snapped. He ran a hand down his face and looked over at the clock, it read one-twenty. He turned to look at her and seemed to be thinking something over as he bit the inside of his cheek.
“Listen" he started “I’ll be done between three and four, why you didn’t think of a backup ride I don’t know, but I’ll take you home when I get off, cool?” she thought it over, and though she wanted to quip back about his ‘backup ride’ comment she swallowed it down and nodded her head and he clicked his tounge “alright then-“
“wait” she inturupted “I forgot i have a freind who came with me” now his annoyance was extremely evident “can they please come too I’d feel awful leaving him, though he might deserve it"
“him?” his voice had an edge to it and she wasn’t surprised, he was never a fan of people outside his circle.
“Yeah and I won’t lie he’s a bit of a pain in the ass"
“fine, whatever" he grumbled. He pushed himself off of the wall and walked to the back, out of sight.
“wait…again" she rushed over to the counter “How will I know when to be ready or how will you know where to find me, I was going to go walk around the shops while I waited and thought-”
“just leave your number on the counter!” he yelled back. She pulled a sticky note out of her purse and a pen and wrote her name and number down, and leaned over and stuck it on the cash register so only he would see it when he came back out. With one last fleeting smile towards the room he was in she left out towards the flower shop.
“You did what!” the few patrons of the Tina’s Garden & Flower Shop turned to look at Eross as he glared daggers at her.
“could you lower your voice, or maybe you want the whole state to hear you bitch and whine" she whispered.
“you expect me to ride in the car of a random stranger"
“Who said it was a stranger, I actually think you’ll be kinda glad" she giggled.
“Why? Who is it? Do I know them?”
“No, you don’t but I do, it’s that guy, sweet pea, from yesterday" Betty expected him to be happier or at least excited, and yet his face just looked unimpressed.
“You got us a ride…with the guy who got me kicked out of my lover’s house"
“Whoa go back that was your fault, you should have kept your mouth shut”
“I know, but it’s easier on my conscience to blame someone else, but at least you know him…I guess"
As they looked around smelling and admiring the displays, she noticed his eye and hands were twitching slightly a nervous tick of his.
“what’s wrong?”
“What if I get the wrong thing and she gets madder? I mean don’t flowers have meaning and what not?”
“You’re fine she won’t care as long as you don’t get her peonies” they both shuddered “Last time you did that, it was a mess”
“yeah, I just hope she didn’t take it the wrong way, the whole threesome thing I mean she obviously did but I just hope…nevermind”
“hey, don’t think like that, I’m sure it was more of a joke anyway, now how about some traditional roses or if you want to branch out some dasies or forget-me-not” his lip twitched up and he let her lead the way.
By three thirty-two Betty and Eross found themselves at a small bakery enjoying over-priced muffins and admiring the beautiful bouquet of white roses with pink orchids. She had a few bags with her, nothing she couldn’t handle, from some of the shops she needed to stop by. Her phone started vibrating and flashed an unknown number and she picked it up seeing it was a text.
(Unknown: hey betty, it’s sweet pea just got off)
She texted him telling him the address and name of the bakery and saved his number, even if there was a chance she wouldn’t use it again, though she doubted that. A few minutes later truck pulled up and though it wasn’t nearly as beat up as hers it had it’s battles that was for sure. He didn’t get out, call, or even text, he just slammed his hand on the horn obnoxiously until they came out.
“not one for manners huh?” Eross muttered as they got up and left.
“just don’t expect a handshake, or warm welcome” she laughed.
When they reached the truck she got on the passenger’s side while he got in the back with his bouquet. Sweet pea raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything about it as he pulled out of the parking lot.
“We got you a-“
“she got you” Eross corrected her, she shot him a glare and turned back to sweet pea.
“I got you a muffin, I wasn’t sure what kind you liked so I just got you chocolate chip” she had the bag in her lap and he looked over as she held it up. Keeping one hand on the steering wheel, he grabbed the pastry out and took a big bit out of the top, and spoke through a mouth full of muffin.
“I prefer blueberry” he said right before taking another large bite “where do you live anyway?”
Betty was tempted to snatch the muffin right out of his hand and throw out the window, but just told him her address instead, though there was an edge to her voice he ignored.
“Um…yeah hi, I’m Eross you can call me Ross” sweet pea didn’t even look at him or acknowledge he was talking “if you could drop me off at my girlfriend’s house that’d be great" it wasn’t till now he glared at him through the rearview mirror.
“Please sweet pea, it’s really important and her house is close to mine so we’re going to pass it anyway” she pleaded
“Fine, I’ll drop him off" she smiled and he only gave a grunt. when they pulled up to peony’s house Eross all but threw himself out of the truck muttering quick goodbyes, and running to her door leaving the car door open.
“Ass" sweet pea mumbled while reaching back to pull it close.
“I’m surprised he didn’t want to make a move” Betty laughed, Sweet pea let out a scoff.
“and why would he do that? You know besides my good looks of course"
“still cocky as ever sweets, but I guess that actually sums it up, your two’s delusion of your good looks”
“ouch, Still hitting it where it hurts I see, and though you can’t admit to when you see a sexy man, I sure as hell can tell you your not looking so bad, those legs are fine as ever" he smirked. She blushed and turned to look out the window to hide it, but judging from his devilish grin he’d already caught it. She didn’t respond or take the conversation any further.
“Pea, where have you been?” they had driven for a couple of minutes in silence, their flirty banter sinking in, and her question was jarring in the silence. She heard him gulp but still didn’t look at him. She had been thinking of asking him since she saw, him but only now did she get the courage to ask. He didn’t say anything till her apartment complex was in sight.
“here we are” he pulled up to the front and parked beside the sidewalk.
“Sweet pea I just-“
“Betty save it, your car should be ready at about two o’clock” he reached over and opened her door and she got the message loud in clear to just drop it. She stepped out and closed the door, turning around last minute to say thank you but the tailgate of his truck was all that was seen as he speeded away down the street. Betty cursed herself, but knew she had a minor victory out of all this. She now had his number, and knew that for the most part they were comfortable with each other. She ran inside and set her things on the floor beside the door when she read the clock seeing it was four fifty-two she let out a grunt. It was still a bit light outside and the only place she needed to go to was this empty house.

He turned to look at her and seemed to be thinking something over as he bit the inside of his cheek. “Listen" he started “I'll be done between three and four, why you didn't think of a backup ride I don't know, but I'll take you home when I get off, cool?” she thought it over, and though she wanted to quip back about his ‘backup ride’ comment she swallowed it down and nodded her head and he clicked his tounge “alright then-" “wait” she inturupted “I forgot i have a freind who came with me" now his annoyance was extremely evident “can they please come too I'd feel awful leaving him, though he might deserve it" “him?” his voice had an edge to it and she wasn't surprised, he was never a fan of people outside his circle. “Yeah and I won't lie he's a bit of a pain in the ass" “fine, whatever" he grumbled. He pushed himself off of the wall and walked to the back, out of sight. “wait...again" she rushed over to the counter “How will I know when to be ready or how will you know where to find me, I was going to go walk around the shops while I waited and thought-” “just leave your number on the counter!” he yelled back. “you expect me to ride in the car of a random stranger" “Who said it was a stranger, I actually think you'll be kinda glad" she giggled. “Why? Who is it? Do I know them?” “No, you don't but I do, it's that guy, sweet pea, from yesterday" Betty expected him to be happier or at least excited, and yet his face just looked unimpressed. “You got us a ride...with the guy who got me kicked out of my lover’s house" “Whoa go back that was your fault, you should have kept your mouth shut” “I know, but it's easier on my conscience to blame someone else, but at least you know him...I guess" As they looked around smelling and admiring the displays, she noticed his eye and hands were twitching slightly a nervous tick of his. “what's wrong?” “What if I get the wrong thing and she gets madder? I mean don't flowers have meaning and what not?” “You're fine she won't care as long as you don't get her peonies” they both shuddered “Last time you did that, it was a mess” “yeah, I just hope she didn't take it the wrong way, the whole threesome thing I mean she obviously did but I just hope...nevermind” “hey, don't think like that, I'm sure it was more of a joke anyway, now how about some traditional roses or if you want to branch out some dasies or forget-me-not” his lip twitched up and he let her lead the way. (Unknown: hey betty, it's sweet pea just got off) She texted him telling him the address and name of the bakery and saved his number, even if there was a chance she wouldn't use it again, though she doubted that. A few minutes later truck pulled up and though it wasn't nearly as beat up as hers it had it's battles that was for sure. He didn't get out, call, or even text, he just slammed his hand on the horn obnoxiously until they came out. “not one for manners huh?” Eross muttered as they got up and left. “just don't expect a handshake, or warm welcome” she laughed. When they reached the truck she got on the passenger’s side while he got in the back with his bouquet. Sweet pea raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything about it as he pulled out of the parking lot. “We got you a-" “she got you” Eross corrected her, she shot him a glare and turned back to sweet pea. “I got you a muffin, I wasn't sure what kind you liked so I just got you chocolate chip" she had the bag in her lap and he looked over as she held it up. Keeping one hand on the steering wheel, he grabbed the pastry out and took a big bit out of the top, and spoke through a mouth full of muffin. “I prefer blueberry” he said right before taking another large bite “where do you live anyway?” Betty was tempted to snatch the muffin right out of his hand and throw out the window, but just told him her address instead, though there was an edge to her voice he ignored. “Um...yeah hi, I'm Eross you can call me Ross” sweet pea didn't even look at him or acknowledge he was talking “if you could drop me off at my girlfriend's house that'd be great" it wasn't till now he glared at him through the rearview mirror. “Please sweet pea, it's really important and her house is close to mine so we're going to pass it anyway” she pleaded “Fine, I'll drop him off" she smiled and he only gave a grunt. when they pulled up to peony’s house Eross all but threw himself out of the truck muttering quick goodbyes, and running to her door leaving the car door open. “Ass" sweet pea mumbled while reaching back to pull it close. “I’m surprised he didn't want to make a move” Betty laughed, Sweet pea let out a scoff. “and why would he do that? You know besides my good looks of course" “still cocky as ever sweets, but I guess that actually sums it up, your two’s delusion of your good looks” “ouch, Still hitting it where it hurts I see, and though you can't admit to when you see a sexy man, I sure as hell can tell you your not looking so bad, those legs are fine as ever" he smirked. She blushed and turned to look out the window to hide it, but judging from his devilish grin he'd already caught it. She didn't respond or take the conversation any further. “Pea, where have you been?” they had driven for a couple of minutes in silence, their flirty banter sinking in, and her question was jarring in the silence. She heard him gulp but still didn't look at him. She had been thinking of asking him since she saw, him but only now did she get the courage to ask. He didn't say anything till her apartment complex was in sight. “here we are” he pulled up to the front and parked beside the sidewalk. “Sweet pea I just-" “Betty save it, your car should be ready at about two o’clock" he reached over and opened her door and she got the message loud in clear to just drop it. It was still a bit light outside and the only place she needed to go to was this empty house.

a sweet pea x betty, 1950s dance aesthetic for @juxtaposedmusings.
maybe Sweets can call Betty his “angel baby”?
May I request 1. 13. And 17. For Sweetbee I'm just in the mood to request them and feeling it tonight 😋🤓
Whoops, this turned into the longest drabble I’ve written yet. (Also, it was the final SweetBee pairing request in my roster. Maybe I was trying to hang onto them.) Hope you find it worth the wait!
1. “Do you want me to leave?”
AND
13. “I couldkiss you right now!”
AND
17. “This is all your fault!”
Jeeze Louise, when the Serpents celebrated, they celebrated. Betty dodged more than one swaying indulger on her wayto the storeroom to top up Toni’s supplies. The girl hadn’t asked for anythingor sent Betty to run this errand for her, but that was only because she hadn’thad a chance. Drink orders, both slurred and enunciated, had been flying sinceBetty had walked into the Wyrm an hour earlier. She couldn’t understand whyToni had decided to bartend on the night of her girlfriend’s acceptance intothe gang. Maybe Cheryl had requested to be thrown in the deep end, forced tointeract with her universally leather jacketed new extended family. Predictingher cousin’s eccentricities was a battle just waiting for Betty to lose it.
Another toast to the newest Serpent went up as Betty snuck down the backhallway, grinning. It was possible that Cheryl hadn’t quite known what she wasgetting into with this gang, but it was highly probable that the Serpents wereeven less prepared for Cheryl.
Now, she knew the storeroom was back here… Aha! A propped open door. Bettybounded to it, eager to return to the party and surprise Toni with herhelpfulness. She hauled the door open (it was heavier than she’d thought) andbegan to step inside. Abruptly, she stopped, her sneaker scuffing the oldlinoleum. She wasn’t alone: Sweet Pea sat on the floor across from where shestood, back against a shelf. Feeling awkward to be alone with someone she’dnever really had a conversation with, Betty faltered, twisting the doorknobbehind her back to channel her discomfort. He glanced sharply up at her.
“Do you want me to leave?” she asked, trying to be polite and not nosy, though she did wonder what one of Toni’s best friends was doing in, essentially,a closet on such a momentous occasion.
Sweet Pea shrugged, though he looked at her carefully. He’d gone off on heronce in the past, but Betty liked to think they could see a little more eye toeye now that the whole community had begun to be knit back together―Cheryl, asNorthsider as a Northsider could be, being admitted into the Serpents wassurely proof of that.
“Go or stay, just don’t―”
Betty stepped forward to hear him and lifted her hand from the doorknob.
“―close the door.”
There was a solid slam from directly behind her. Betty spun as Sweet Peahopped to his feet.
“Oh my god!” she exclaimed, rotating and tugging at the doorknob. “Is itlocked? Why is it locked?”
Sweet Pea shouldered her aside, trying the doorknob for himself. Even in themidst of her panic, Betty found strength to roll her eyes.
“It’s always locked, Girl Genius,” he replied sarcastically. “Room full ofbooze―” Sweet Pea gestured around them, “―bar full of alkies―” he thumped hisfist against the door, “―you don’t think they keep it locked?”
Not a particular fan of being condescended to, Betty turned to face SweetPea, ready to reply until she realized they were practically chest to chest, standing there between the racks of bottles and cans stacked to the ceiling.
“So, um,” she started, taking a cautious step backwards and swallowing hardunder the tall boy’s rather intense gaze, “how did you get in?”
“It was already open. Sometimes they keep the bolt fired and let the doorrest open so they don’t have to unlock it every time.”
“Then how did it shut?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Sweet Pea joked meanly, letting his head fall to theside as he accused her in not so many words, “why don’t we ask the person whowas fiddling with the fucking doorknob right before we got locked in here!”

“I am just a thief looking for soup, no need to stab me.”
“During our time together I’ve realized something.”
“Have you ever thought anything through before?”
“Well, I mean, that’s good advice but that doesn’t apply to our situation at all.”
“Could you bring me a pizza?”
“Oh, sorry I thought you were my friend!”
“A wonderful thing happened to me today!”
“Are you trying not to laugh?”
“I never did understand humans.”
“Before I could do anything else, I was face to face with an alpaca.”
“Oh, would you look at that, a murder just took place and we weren’t apart of it for once. I think we are becoming better people.”
“Listening to you is like listening to nails on a chalkboard.”
“Where are you keeping all of these knifes?”
“Did you just try to kill me? How rude.”
“Hmmmmm what to do, what to do.”

*THIS IS NOT A BUGHEAD FIC, BUGHEAD WAS NEVER A THING IN THIS STORY*
“It’s no serpent left behind.”
Betty Copper was the good girl. Straight A’s, picture perfect family, the girl next door. She had it all.
Then her world came crashing down and she was living in a two bedroom apartment on the Southside with her brother Chic. She didn’t think it could be any worse, but then she found herself holding a piece of plastic with a little pink plus sign and no boyfriend to rely on.
But then a certain dark haired boy with a snake tattoo on his neck shows up, ready to step up and help her out, as any good friend would. But is that all it is?
____________________________________
Betty stared down at the tiny plastic stick that felt heavier than it actually was. Maybe it was the fact that that tiny plastic stick held the fate of her future, and the future of her future little one inside it. She couldn’t believe her eyes. The first test she could say was defective but after the sixth one? She had to accept the truth. Her eyes closed as tears ran down her cheeks and she slowly exited the bathroom. Chic was anxiously waiting for her, his foot tapping unsteadily under the coffee table. When he heard the door open, his head whipped around to face her with an anxious look on his face.
“Well?” He asked, his voice coming out strained as Betty approached. She sat on the coffee table directly in front of him and lowered her head, holding out the tests so he could see, a small sob escaping her lips.
“I’m pregnant Chic… I’m 17-years-old and pregnant!” She sobbed as she dropped the tests beside her, hearing the click as they hit the table. She curled her hands into fists and squeezed them as hard as she could, feeling her nails bite into the skin of her palms.
“Betty…” Chic said softly before prying her hands open and pulling her towards him, holding her in a tight embrace while she cried. Trying to soothe her at this point seemed like a moot point, so he was content on just holding her. By the time her sobs calmed to hiccups, his shirt was soaked and Betty was wiping at her face with her own sleeves, a look of shame covering her face.
“What am I going to do Chic? I’m only a teenager… I know Pretty Boy won’t want anything to do with the baby… No one will ever want me again.” Betty said softly, looking down at her hands while sighing, noticing the slight shake of her hands. “Should I tell him about it?” She asked not looking up, already knowing what his answer would be.
After a few moments- though it felt like forever- she finally looked up to meet his eyes. She could tell he wanted to say something, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he closed it again, furrowing his eyebrows and standing up to walk to Betty’s bedroom, returning with her cellphone.
“Call him. I’ll be right next to you the whole time.” He said, pushing the phone towards her more as she bit her lip and extended her hand to take it.
________________________________
Betty had met the tall, dirty blond Serpent when she went to find Chic at the Whyte Wyrm months before. It was the same day their mom, Alice, was taken away after she had her break down after their dad left.
She walked inside the bar, tugging on the hem of her pale pink miniskirt while adjusting her white zip up jacket.“C-Chic?” She called out hesitantly as she looked around, her eyes catching on her brother who was standing in the corner laughing, with a glass bottle in his hand. She quickly sauntered over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing as close to him as she could. “I’ve been worried about you… Can we go home now?” she whispered, casually taking a glance around the group. It was almost an accident when her eyes landed on the most perfect guy she had ever seen.
He had high defined cheekbones, a chiseled jaw, and the slightest tan covering his skin. He towered over Betty, his deep chocolate eyes seeming to see straight into her soul, his dirty blond hair falling forward from the slicked back state to rest against his forehead.
Betty could see his mouth moving but couldn’t comprehend the sound. Her mouth felt like it was filled with cotton and she swallowed thickly, her mouth dropping open before her brain could stop it. “Huh?” She asked pathetically, her face heating up as she heard everyone around them laugh. The boy in front of her smirked and stepped forward, closer to Betty.
He leaned down so his lips were even with her ear. “I said… They call me Pretty Boy. You must be Elizabeth,” He said, pulling back to tuck a strand of hair behind Betty’s ear, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. She should’ve realized right then and there that he was nothing but trouble.

Deciding to actually pick up the phone to call him was one of the hardest things she ever had to do. The phone felt as if it was weighing her hand down, not allowing her to press the number she had memorized in the last four months and bring it up to her ear.
“Betts… You have to do it.” Chic said softly, gently taking the phone from her hand, pressing on the call button and handing it back. “Now all you have to do is talk.” He said before turning and walking to his room at the end of the hall. Betty sat frozen, the phone pressed to her ear as she heard the line ringing then a sudden click as it was answered.
“Elizabeth, I told you not to call me so early in the morning.” The gruff voice on the other end stated as soon as it connected. Betty Felt like her throat was constricted, not allowing any words to come out before a soft sob escaped. She heard shuffling on the other end and a light-slightly feminine- groan followed by a whispered shh before he was back on the line, his voice softer.
“Honey Bee, what’s wrong?” The familiar term of endearment rolled off his tongue but to her ears, it sounded anything but loving. She felt the bile rise in her throat and she closed her eyes, deciding it was better to just get straight to the point and not beat around the bush.
“I’m pregnant and the baby is yours. I don’t expect you to help me, I don’t expect you to stay in my life. I know you’re obviously very busy with whatever new conquest is in your bed, shall I tell her of your new title as Daddy or will you?” Betty’s voice dripped with venom and the other line went silent before the tell tale sound of beep beep beep filled her ears, informing her that he had hung up.
Not being able to stay strong anymore, the phone slipped from Betty’s hand and she began sobbing loudly, pressing the heel of her palm against her mouth and rocking back and forth. She was going to be a teen mom and her child wasn’t going to have a father. She didn’t know what the future would hold, but she knew she was going to keep her baby.
Without knowing how long she sat there rocking herself she heard a familiar voice having a hushed conversation with her brother behind her.
“He left. He said he had more important things to deal with and he left. His trailer is empty. What’s going on Chic?” A deep voice asked, slightly closer than it had been in the beginning. By now she could recognize that it was none other than Sweet Pea.
“He got Betty pregnant and she told him. That’s when he decided to leave. I’m going to kill him Pea. I swear.” Chic said, his voice rising slightly towards the end. Suddenly she heard heavy footsteps approaching her and she closed her eyes, digging her nails into her palms. The next thing she knew, two very large-very warm-hands, wrapped around hers, prying them open.
“Betty? I’m so sorry… Listen, you got me and the Serpents to help you out with whatever you need. I’ll be here every day if that’s what you want, but just know, you are a part of us now and I will protect you.” She opened her blue eyes to meet milk chocolate ones and noticed Sweet Pea was kneeling before her and he laid a hand on her cheek, using his thumb to brush a few tears away. “No Serpent left behind.”
